That DUCK ROCK album was SERIOUS...The Supreme Team pioneered THE SKIT on that album (in my eyes)...which was EPIC in alotta Hip Hop/Rap albums [as well as other genres] to come! Peace...

I often think McLarens voice sounds like Austin Powers.

Trevor Horn was classic on this...then they followed it right up wit' D'Ya Like Scratchin' EP, then ART OF NOISE's classic EP w/Beat Box, Donna, Moments In Love, Bright Noise, The Intro (still a top 200 favorite song of mine)! Peace...

Agreed, Art Of Noise have there unique sample effects because of Malcolm McLaren’s idea of traveling the world for Duck Rock album to get African West Jive Vocalist to sing and harmonize on this album. Primarily Beat Box, Close To The Edit tracks from Art Of Noise are created because of those West Africa travels that Horn, McLaren & Langan did. What a great time to be alive when I bought this LP, solely for Buffalo Gals & just been floored on how incredible polished & enjoyable the entire album was as a whole….pure adventure

never realised that the 'wuwuwubwub' sound before the 'All that scratchin is making me itch' in buffalo gals was sampled from his 'zulu...' track

Just discovered this album today on youtube after growing up in the 80s and never being too aware of it. Wow!! Paul Simon virtually lifted it with Graceland, and I hear in it riffs that were copied years later by Deep Forest (Sweet Lullaby) and of course Eminem... What strikes me the most is the overall texture of it, the joy and absolute beauty of this recording. I feel fortunate this record was, for me, on ice all these decades. It sounds incredibly refreshing to my ears. Kind of funny how McLaren and Lydon acted snotty and bitter, but were always very sensitive and conscious people who wanted a better world. Those two did a lot more than most other artists to bring peace & joy to the world through their music. They were a couple of shamanic warrior artists.

Look on SoundCloud for "fifty paths to Graceland", a mix by the Kleptones. Thats what everyone "lifted".

Great to read this and know the album is still making inroads. I've been listening to this since I was a kid in the early 80s, and it remains one of my all time favorites.

Duck Rock is considered by many fans/artist alike, to be the most important Rap/Freestyle album of 80’s….lists not forget all the music is done by Trevor Horn & his in-house studio band members: Gary Langan, J.J. Jezlaik & Gary Langan, better known these days as The Art Of Noise,….very expensive album to make in 1981/82

Gary Langan, J.J. Jezalik & Anne Dudley are the Art Of Noise, meant to say
