You are definitely a Megaman lover. I am pretty surr the references you man to cuphead about megaman were inaccurate. I could be wrong but almost every reference in the game is based off of late 1920s and 30s cartoons.
Not only was Dr. Kahl's Robot infuriating, it was even _demoralizing_ because of a bug (at launch) where your progress wasn't correctly metered during phase 1, causing a lot of people to wonder just HOW LONG this phase was supposed to last.

Cala Maria was certainly hard, and that petrification spell she uses is just cold-blooded. When my friend was fighting against Dr. Kahl's Robot, he told me "Whoever thought of this boss should be shot in the face."
recently I played the whole Cuphead game for the second time and when I got to Dr Kahl's Robot very VERY suprisingly I beat him my first try, I though he would give me hell after all the torment From my first playthrough.
No boss gave me more trouble than Grim. Dr. Kahl definitely takes second place for me due to the first phase, but I REALLY struggled to get through Grim, mostly because of the second phase. Those fire guys started feeling randomized. One moment they would jump to where I was, next moment they’d jump to wherever I was leaping out of the way
Grim isn’t even in the top 10 hardest bosses for me, I beat grim in like 20 minutes my first time playing lol- meanwhile dr Kahl took me 2 hours so he’s the hardest for me. Some other ones like rumor honeybottoms, Cala Maria, djimmy, Hilda berg, and Wally warbles took me around an hour (I struggle massively with airplane levels if that wasn’t clear btw-)
On my first playthrough, my top 10 were: 10. Hilda Berg 9. Phantom Express 8. Wally Warbles 7. Cala Maria 6. Djimmi the Great 5. King Dice 4. Dr. Kahl's Robot 3. Rumor Honeybottoms 2. The Devil 1! Grim Matchstick
Personally, I am horrible at parrying and King Dice was my worst nightmare. Grim took me forever and strangely, I didn’t take too long to fight Cala Maria and Dr Kahl. When I replayed the game, I found I’m just good with plane levels and EXTREMELY LUCKY.
Here's my advice for Grim Matchstick Get the lobber and charge shot, smoke bomb or the heart charm, and either super 1 or 2. In the first phase, use your lobber to shoot Grim. Parry the pink beams he shoots as parrying fills your super meter. If you need to, switch to the charge shot to avoid the tail spike and his fireballs. In the second phase, you're gonna need the lobber to hit the dragon from above. The smoke bomb is op in this section as you can dodge the fire guys very easily. The final phase requires the charge shot so you don't accidently hit the fireballs the dragon heads shoot. Accidently hitting them will shoot projectiles horizontally and vertically. When Grim uses his flamethrower, get above the flames and use the lobber if you can.
I agree with your weapon combination, especially in phase three. The slow, deliberate usage of the charger is perfect for blasting at the right time and avoiding the fire orbs. But I will never bend the knee and use any charms.
Yeah, the first phase is pretty easy, For the second phase I wait until the clouds are almost hitting Grimm and jump and dash back and usually the fire people won’t hit you. For the last phase I use my super and just try to avoid and not hit the fireballs
I did it without the lobber and it was hard but I found a strat I was using the normal bullets my advice go up and down keep moving while spamming the button
In my opinion the phantom express was the easiest fight in the game. As long as you manage to shoot down the magnets before they hit your cart you can make it through the first and second phase without taking damage and with that you can push through the third phase without breaking a sweat. I 100% agree with Dr Khal and the Dragon though. Those two were the only bosses that made me lose faith in my ability to ever finish the game.
I agree. In the first two phases, I would just spam the lock on a gun and chill in one spot. Phase 3 just stay as far left as possible and continue the using the lock on gun. Phase 4 is the only phase in that fight that is somewhat tough but nothing aggravating
My opinions on the listed bosses: I found Ribby and croaks pretty easy, although the fight is hard on expert. Djimmi the great wasn’t too hard but it wasn’t easy either. I found Beppi the clown to be reasonably easy to be completely honest, but he still too a few tries. The phantom express is a pretty hard boss to me. Cala Maria was definitely one of the harder Cuphead bosses. King Dice is hard, mainly because of how long the fight is. The Devil didn’t take too long for me, but he was really hard. Rumour Honeybottoms was one of the hardest bosses on my first play through, but when I replay the battle now it isn’t too hard. Grim Matchstick was really hard on my first play through, Now I find the first two phases really easy, but the final phase is super annoying for me. The tutorial is truly the HARDEST BOSS in the game and here's why, The tutorial had many people fail. dash and jump? Many people failed trying to do that.I want to say is that when MojoPlays said "The tutorial" as the hardest boss I can certainly can agree with him
I believe that ribby & croaks is one of the easiest actually. The first 2 phases can be easily passed eithout loosing any hp and the third - machine is also doable after you understand how it works
Ribby & Croaks is easy overall, but at the moment that you fight against them, the game has a sudden increase of difficulty with them. I remember to have some troubles at first. Later in the game I came back, and it was quite easy.
The Devil is actually the hardest boss for me, his last phase seems so rng. As well as his first phase being insanity because of that attack where he spins his staff thing that looks like a fork. It's really hard to beat him for me.
Same. I can fly through the whole game on normal but he still gets me. It just sucks and there are glitches in it that make you take a hit just cause you are unlucky

I honestly never saw Grim Matchstick as hard. The 2nd phase can be a problem if you don't focus on the little flame guys about to sprout up at you, though. For thr 3rd phase I just save my super to do the most damage, and never ever shoot those balls of fire that split apart once shot.
Ikr, the first phase is easy, the second phase you just need to dodge and it can be a little annoying at the beginning, and at the final phase if you save your super it’s pretty easy.

7:10 I found landing on start over in the King Dice fight wasn't as devastating as I thought it would be. Because all the bosses I beat, those spaces stayed clear. So as long as I was able to roll the number I wanted, I could still hit most of the spaces I had cleared from previous boss victories. I may have missed one of the dice numbers I wanted so maybe I had to fight 1 extra boss because of it but actually not too bad. But the first time it happened I was pretty demoralized. Also if there was a heart space I had missed the first time around, here was my chance to try to get it the second time around.
Even without 💨 💣 King Dice is still a piece of cake. The only ranking I can agree with is that DAMN TUTORIAL! Rumor ain’t that bad either….Ok maybe I just play the game to much that I think they’re all easy…THIS GAME IS MY LIFE!
i will be tottaly honest. the only two bosses i found ACTUALLY hard was Hilda berg and Wally Warbles, the others did i do (on expert) in less than 1-20 attempts. the others. hilda took me 53 and Wally took me 141.

The DLC bosses will probably put all the main game bosses to shame. One thing I'm concerned about though is some of the newly added weapons will trivialize these bosses.
Fighting Dr. Kahl is very hard But at my last try i beates it in full health by being focus and being patient of beating dr. Kahl You do always have a chance of beating everyone and getting theyre soul contract.
It's funny how opinions differ. I like Bullet Hell games and thought phase 3 of the robot was easy. The beginning of the fight tripped me up, though. My nemesis was Kind Dice.
I bought the game back in 2019 on switch and I couldn't get through the the 3rd inkwell isle but then I did another playthrough 2 months ago and then it took me a week to beat it

I kinda don't understand why people find calamaria difficult, personally I'd say I didn't have that much difficulty playing her as compared to Dejinnty who on the other hand, took hell lotta time
On the king dice fight I was so locked in and when I was almost at the end I thought in my head "if I land on start over ima pull the trigger" And I role and land on start over..... 💀
I would say that Beppi is easier than pretty much all the other bosses on inkwell isle 2. He's the one I beat the quickest. (I still haven't beaten Isle 2, but I've faced off against all other bosses and taken a while to beat Von Bonbon.)

May I recommend a Top 10 List of Hardest Hollow Knight Boss Fights?

Grim Matchstick was the most satisfying and difficult boss to beat for me. I quit playing the game for a year because of that damn dragon.

For several weeks, I couldn’t beat Grim Matchstick. But one day, I have beaten him! Yeah!! Now i am on Queen Bee to steal her Wild Mountain honey and her honey Nut Cheerios!

The DLC bosses will probably put all the main game bosses to shame. One thing I'm concerned about though is some of the newly added weapons will trivialize these bosses.
The frogs are easy 🤣😂. The 3rd phase does have some quick reaction needed but nothing compared to other bosses

Im kinda surprised that Hilda Berg isnt on here, this might just be me, but she was probably one of the hardest bosses ive fought in the game

I just picked the game up 3 days ago, with dlc and everything. Dice, Devil and the last 2 dlc bosses are the only ones left…hard game XD

Beppi was the first isle 2 boss I fought. I raged so hard that even the neighbours could hear me
In my opinion as a new Cuphead player I actually find the Phantom Express easy because my first playthrough I beat it on my 4th try.
Fighting Dr. Kahl is very hard
But at my last try i beates it in full health by being focus and being patient of beating dr. Kahl
You do always have a chance of beating everyone and getting theyre soul contract.
I really do hope Netflix doesn't take too long for season 2

in my opinion, beppi the clown and djimmy the great should be switched around, in my cuphead run, beppi was the easiest inkwell isle ii boss.
If you mess up and all the spots are taken I think you don't need to roll the dice
the game needs a "game journo" difficulty level that doesnt need dashing
Wally warbles’s third phase all most made me scream.
I beat Grim Matchstick while wearing long acrylic nails. I felt powerful
Anybody stuck on Kahls robot: there is a spot you can sit while using the plane bombs where you can damage both the bottom and middle segment at once
The dragon was easy for me. I beat it in like 5 tries
Ribby and crokes is actually really easy it can be hard on the first try but more you play the level the more easier it gets
That train did it for me with that stupid pink block.
It's funny how opinions differ. I like Bullet Hell games and thought phase 3 of the robot was easy. The beginning of the fight tripped me up, though.
My nemesis was Kind Dice.
I bought the game back in 2019 on switch and I couldn't get through the the 3rd inkwell isle but then I did another playthrough 2 months ago and then it took me a week to beat it
Fun fact: I find all of these bosses stupidly easy

Cala Maria is by FAR the hardest boss in the game, Cala Maria in normal mode is much harder than Dr Kahl’s Robot in expert

I kinda don't understand why people find calamaria difficult, personally I'd say I didn't have that much difficulty playing her as compared to Dejinnty who on the other hand, took hell lotta time
On the king dice fight I was so locked in and when I was almost at the end I thought in my head "if I land on start over ima pull the trigger" And I role and land on start over..... 💀
I would say that Beppi is easier than pretty much all the other bosses on inkwell isle 2. He's the one I beat the quickest. (I still haven't beaten Isle 2, but I've faced off against all other bosses and taken a while to beat Von Bonbon.)
I beat all of them but the one that made me rage quit a lot is king dice
