  • Welcome back to another episode of RAC's Corner! In today's episode, Coach RAC discusses his complete guide on Bats, Gloves, Batting Gloves and Cleats!
    Does quality matter?
    Yes.
Is investing in expensive equipment ALWAYS worth it?
    No.
It depends on a ballplayer 's skill level and age!
Here is my complete guide on:
    Bats
    Gloves
    Batting Gloves
    Cleats
    Bats:
The most important thing is size. The size of the bat and the way the bat is weighted is what matters most with youth bats. A bat that is too big can bottleneck a young ball player, or maybe cause bad habits at the plate.
However, bat quality is also an important factor.
If you buy a bat that is under $100, it will likely have some durability issues. In my experience, bats you find at Walmart, Target, or Big 5 will have some problems.
That being said, in my experience, any bat over $150 seems to have similar durability and fairly comparable pop. If you're serious about your game but don't want to break the bank, then find a bat that you are comfortable with, and as long as you feel confident with the bat, it will serve its purpose. Don't feel like you need to spend $500 to hit well.
    Gloves:
Quality really does matter with gloves. Good leather is not cheap, and you get what you pay for. If you're buying a glove for a young ball player with little experience, then there is no harm in buying a $50 glove. However, if you are serious about playing ball, then quality does matter.
    Batting gloves:
Quality matters for durability and feel only. Batting gloves won't make you hit better.
    Cleats:
Cleats don't matter much at young ages. Once you get to middle school and high school, find cleats that feel comfortable!
    As always, Let's Grow!
