Good point. Many people seem to be focused on the card market prices as compared to 2 years ago and think the card market is down overall. However, the sports card market has outperformed the traditional investment markets by quite a bit over the last 10 years and it will continue to do so for the next 10 years.
don't worry they will be back to those prices soon enough. Most are down 90% from highs already

Chris, in your eBay centric high rollers you care about if a sale goes through or not and PWCC has a horrible track record of inflating sales. How do you verify if a "sale" through PWCC is legit or not?
Great example of the PWCC eye appeal meaning nothing with that Jordan RC. It looks like a blatant lie in order to boost that final bid. What a shame they can even do something like that.
Agreed, who cares what anyone else thinks about your cards. Collect what you love and don't let 3rd party graders make you feel insecure about your collection
I agree if you give a PSA 10 a bonus PWCC labeling (in this case S) is needs to be PERFECT. Also how long will we, as a hobby, continue to reference the crazy sales prices of the boom? It feels like we're solidly in a new era these days.
Odd take. What is your cut off for historical prices? Some cards are above boom prices should we ignore those too?

Hi Chris, I feel one of the glaring/troubling issues in our hobby is the graded card price discrepancies between companies?. What I'm referring to is the 1986 Fleer PSA 10 Jordan you mention here and the recent(12-3) REA Jordan BGS 9.5 W/10 for centering bringing 1/5 the price, I'm sure I could even say this brought less than 1/2 the price of the lowest PSA 10 Jordan sale of 2023. Any chance you could talk about this in a future video? Thanks Troy from Fargo
PWCC Eye Appeal grades are almost as random as PSA grades! Agree on the assessment of the Jordan.
The Tiger RC from SI for Kids is almost impossible to find in Gem Mint. The perforations would never separate perfectly.
Around 2010 there was a big debate on these and how they should be graded in light of the Tiger card becoming so valuable.

Excellent video as always. You are becoming a Master Jedi and I am a droid at best LOL. The Fleer MJ Is O/C front and back. The front is 55/45 and the back is 60/40. If I was paying over $200K for a Jordan 10 it would have to be 50/50 on both sides. I know PSA standards for a centering for front centering is 60/40 (Joke) and the back 75/25 back (Joke) to be able to get a PSA 10. I think when evaluating a card the centering is the first thing you see and the most important factor.
Those PSA 10 Jordan rookies have sunk like the Titanic
I have so many questions about these eye apeal stickers given out. Like this sticker has PWCC 5% now what if you try to sell it to Heritag or Golden will they houner the sticker grade or are you stuck only selling it on there aucton site on PWCC.

I'm going to suggest that the pronunciation is National "chick-el". I believe this is the company that made Chiclets chewing gum. My grandma would reward me with boxes of Chiclets when I was a kid. When the box was empty, if you blew into it in a certain way, it would act like a kazoo.

Prices for current players still early in their careers really shouldn’t rival that of Hall of Famers. These sales put Mahomes, in a stratosphere that seems extreme. Even a twenty-something 4.5 Koby is a bit on the wild side.
I would even say that the front centering on that Fleer Jordan is not perfect. The right border is bigger than the left border.

Erving rookie cards i think are one of best deals going. All these high end rookies in SGC holders is pretty dissapointing especially final price results

If you had one very valuable card and you had to sell it in order to pay your kids college tuition. You get one shot, say you have a 52 Mantle PSA 8. You have to choose. Where would you sell it??

That they sold at such low prices? Look how many 52 Mantles are in the pop count. Now fast forward 25 years when all the boomers are gone and Jordan replaces Mantle as they top player for old money.

On the Mj “Star Rubies” card you said it was a “population of 4 with 5 graded higher”. This make no sense for if there are only 4 how can there be 5 graded higher? With this card and the 5 higher, wouldn’t the population be 6?
When I say "pop 4 with 5 higher", that means there are 4 copies that exist in that exact grade, and there are 5 other copies that exist graded higher.

Is PWCC a better place to sell than say, Heritage? I'm not familiar with it@@collectorinvestordealer
I prefer PWCC because they have a marketplace where you can list cards buy-It-Not where Heritage is only auctions

The top 10 includes Jordan, Mantle, Curry, Mahomes, Alcindor, and Kobe. That has to be the most title heavy top 10 of all-time.

So is the eye appeal sticker thing come with an upcharge? Or is that at the graders discretion? Because that Jordan must've been an inside job...a psa worker finaggled a bgs 8.5 into a psa 10 PLUS put the eye appeal sticker.... the top right corner is fuzzy too....psa gives me high blood pressure......
The eye appeal is not an upcharge. Its given automatically to cards they feel fit.
its probably like BGS where you submit so many cards and they guarantee some with get top marks.

The bottom 2 corners also have micro spots of white on the tips. That card should probably be an 8.5.
I think pwcc uses these eye appeal labels too much. Unless they've seen every single graded one for that certain grade, how can they say it's in the top 10 or 5 percent anyway? It's a gimmick to try and boost their auctions and get every cent from their customers.
You could buy two 5.5 52 Mantle rookies for the exact same price as one Jordan rookie. Much better deal on the Mantle cards..

The top x % eye appeal of a certain grade for a card,is a complete joke of a gimmick. Do they have images of all the copies of a certain grade for a card? How could you go by photos? I doubt they have all those images,so how could they account for the whole sample size? It’s done for lower grades too,they certainly don’t have the whole sample size for that on hand. They have different percentiles too,LMAO. Even if it was possible(which it’s not)it’s still completely subjective. I guess,what more could we expect from PWCC
Grading is exactly the same. Just because PWCC puts a label on it doesn't mean you have to care. Critically think about it and decide for yourself.
Can we talk about how awful the PWCC second pictures are?!? They act like no one cares about the back of the card at all.
