Vanessa is one of my all time FAVOURITE dancers. (and I've seen plenty in my 50 year dance career). Not only is she amazingly skillful but she embodies the energy and spirit of the dance, which is as important as the skill.

The original song is a 1946 song by a less famous Egyptian singer , her name is Nabaweya Mustafa. It was a part of a song that a movie director started it to combine it with a song performed in the same movie by a famous singer at this time named Lyla Murad . Nabaweya had a ridiculously stronger voice that the director had the Monter to weaken it several steps to be able to combine Lyla’s continuation of the song. South of Egypt has many of these singer you could hear them singing while cultivating their fields. God bless Egypt , the land of spirit, the land that hosted Jesus for many years.
