I've just gotten a pair of '64 Kay "Kleenex box" pickups that I'm jonesing to put in a Jazzmaster body. They are very similar in tone/sound to a P-90, they're constructed much the same way. That Suhr sounds glorious btw!.
I went on a similar journey with from Singlecoils to P90s to eventually Filtertron style pickups. They really do offer a good balance of chime, clarity, and the robust character of a normal humbucker.
The S90s sound good. I think I get the same versatility and tone with my G&L MFDs + the passive treble and bass. I can get a single coil sound, as well as a very fat and thick P90 sound.
Sounds fantastic bro!! Your playing is really awesome You're getting better!!❤ i honest can't believe you have that Kemper dialed in so warm and bassman like! Jeez
Hi HW. I agree with you, those p-90's are magnificent!!! Did you mention the brand? Suhr? Btw, not to be contrarian, but for some reason, I just can't make myself like filtertrons... Viva les differance!!!
Yeah they are the stock Suhr pickups that Suhr calls S-90s which I guess stands for Suhr 90 because it’s the only P-90 they make. I also never found a set of trons that I liked much until the lambertrons. They feel much more balanced am compared to gretsch and tv jones stuff. I dig them… but I also know I would t dig them as much in like a Grestch. I like the platform ai have them in.
Yes I that ballpark the shur might be a bit more glassy and jangly because of the bolt on and scale length but similar because of the pickup of course!
Such clarity and gain already in the first few seconds! Lots of range and color
Now I have to get a Suhr with S-90 and lambertron for my Gretsch 😅
This is the way!
@@ToneJunkieTV do you have sponsored links ?
@@gabrielgarneau I do not.

Is this all with kemper amps/effects?
as a fan.. enjoying your apparent weight loss
Thanks dude!!
My favorite set remain the Dirty Fingers pickups I bought in the early eighties.
Tone is phenomenal. What are you using?
Kemper is still King!! 😂
West joined the band after he left is the story.
Hi HW. Man that was so tasty. You stepped up your playing. Is that preset available on Quad Cortex? Is soooo awesome.

Can a P90 Les Paul style guitar sound like that too?
I’d say more or less, yeah they should be much more similar than different.

Okay but have you tried the EMG 81?
...
(jk!)
1:40 comment on Tesla stock lol
That tone would be amazing for a slowed down cover of boy's of summer!
Ian Thornley style!
