After the MIUI 14 update, the VoLTE option was no longer available on my Redmi Note 9s. So, I had to stop depending on VoLTE. But thanks to this guy, I was able to activate VoLTE again today!!!

Hi I just want to check if volte or wifi is actually working after you enabled the settings? Enabling doesn't equal to working. I'm actually also using Optus and have the options enabled. But the features don't work. Still drops down to 3g when making calls

I wasted 2 weeks with the carrier who had me reset network settings and other steps, and even contacted Xiaomi who did not know how to fix this issue and wanted me to do a Factory Reset... Switched Redmi 9 from Cricket to H2o wireless and rep said " you need a new device " like hell I do !!! I knew better but couldnt remember the codes so came in here and put the codes, phones is working as intended 4G LTE and all.

So I bought 2 POCO X4 PRO 5g for each of my kids to replace their older phones, one of the older phones was using a 5g sim and the other just 4g lte. After swapping out the sims the Poco with 4g lte sim worked fine but the one with the 5g everything worked except, when made calls the other person couldn't hear anything. So after enabling volte through the dial pad everything works perfect thank you very much, really appreciate it.

I just changed my mobile network to a new operator and the retail man told me that my Xiaomi Mix 3 model is too old and doesn't support VoLTE but the network operator website list of supporting mobile devices do included my model. OMG. After my carrier enabled my volte and vowifi only volte is showing on the Poco M4 Pro 5G. I switched the sim to iphone 13 promax and i see vowifi. I switched back to Poco ans still volte only. Only after I follow the second steps from this video. Thanks a lot!

Yes and you need to install activity manager app and check the vowifi box under modem config...thats how i remember i did it.... but now afer miui 12 update and factory reset i cant find the vowifi box

@@420gramas7 it works for both sms and calls, but your network should also enable it. We don't have sim signal inside our rooms but we got wifi. Hence, the need for it.

I know this is an old post but want to comment my experience: I have a Redmi Note 8 Pro and everywhere I looked it says it is VoLTE enabled out of the box but there is no settings. Never had an issue, i think. At times I would get VM notification but phone never rang. I am in the US North Jersey using a Pay as-as-you-go company cause it is what I can afford. On May 19 2023 my Redmi would no longer make or get phone calls from my home. Text and Data are fine. Calls go straight to VM but only when at home and I have full bars showing LTE. If I go out I can make calls and get them but Voice quality is chopping. Never experienced this before with this phone. Reach out to Customer Service and had me do a few things and no help whatsoever and the last tech I spoke to after I gave them the IMEI (as I did to other techs) said it is not a supported phone??????? I place the SIM on my wife phone and it works fine so it is not the SIM. But noticed hers days VoLTE 4G. My phone does not have a VoLTE setting in the SIM section. Googled, found this and tried it and now have the option and it is on and viola, it works fine. Do not see the LTE option over my Cell bars but I do not care. As long as phone works....so thank you again! Damn this was long....sorry...
Before following the video's instructions I didn't have the options in settings to "use VoLTE" or "Make calls using WIFI" or the "Network Preferences" on my wife's Redmi Note 8. After using the *# codes I did get these options in the settings. I set them but still can't get WIFI calling. To test I turned on airplane mode and then turned wifi back. When trying to place a call I get the message "Turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless network to make a call." But I am connected to my wireless home network. Now, my wife's phone and mine have the same mobile carrier, (HOT Israel) but I have a Samsung A20. The Samsung calls fine over the home wifi even with airplane mode on. The only difference I have found is in your video you have MIUI 12.0.8 and the Redmi Note 8 is 12.0.6. Is the MIUI the ROM dependent? Is there way of getting an update?
I have the 13T, and it doesn't start to operate the VoWiFi until you reboot it. also if you disable it and then re-enable, you need to reboot it again. only then the VoWiFi icon is shown and the feature works. so annoying! any known solution for that?
T-Mobile network in Las Vegas is really bad, I turned this option on my Poco F3 but I'm not sure does it works, is there any icon during a call showing that you use call over WiFi? Thanks for the explanation.
I'm assuming it didn't work because you didn't get the volte or WiFi calling symbol when you activated them, it worked for my mom on EE but not for me on O2, my O2 acc says both volte and WiFi calling are on but they just don't work no matter what I try on the phone.
@@Popudopulusturns out WiFi calling was off on O2's side even though my online account said it was on so that's working now, VoLTE doesn't work without band 20 I think and my black shark 5 pro doesn't have that band so I can't get it, no point asking network providers about bands as they either seem clueless or ignore the question.
The company for which I work bought me some Samsung phone together with a number from T-Mobile and on that phone Call over WiFi worked. I put T-Mobile SIM into my Xiaomi Poco F3 that supports two SIMs and I tried this tutorial and it didn't work.
@@Popudopulus I had to phone up and get them to turn it on, not sure why it's not working for you if it's on and your phone supports it unless the network are blocking it.

In my experience, this behavior may be cell-tower specific ( try another physical location several km/mi away... )
