You need edge protectors to play this game. If they have edge threat and double or nothing on a player it's instant sheds if you don't. You can get tackles that get edge pro for super super cheap. Literally 90 ovrls
NMS This year is super easy. I have a 95 overall team with twenty five million coins in my account. You do need to grind and play the game and stay caught up with everything but it's been really easy this year compared to past years.

Do twitch and mcs for more players and coins, dailies for coin packs and strat items before the zero chill promo. Used all the free stuff I could get my hands on in the games and a lot available this year. Then I went all in on presents and made a ton of coins from it using the TVP and selling off high overall players. Compared to last year this has been an easy coin making game. But you do have to work for it and yes there is some luck involved with what you get but set limits if rolling and know your coin to training values.
