Great grooves. And man! These cymbals sound awesome. If I was looking to by an inexpensive set of cymbals this is what I would choose and they would keep me happy for awhile. I actually feel like I got ripped off on all my top level brands lol
I've been playing Saban cymbals sime since the year 2000, and I love them. But when I think about the money I had to spend to get them, it really makes me wanna scream. My HHX groove hats, groove ride, two 18" AAX explosion crashes and two AAX aero splashes, 8" and 10". Lots of money!!! Over the years I've really fell in love with the dark, trashy and quick decaying cymbals. I've owned two wuhan chinas, and I'm gonna get some more chinas and splashes. Great playing too bro!!! 🥁
@briang6040 Yes, those HHX and AAX's are great sounding cymbals! The Wuhans are hit and miss sometimes on the crashes, but the majority I have owned rival many of the hi end cymbals made by the big companies.
Man...really some great cymbals at a great price point!! Nice display man! That 4:23 fill is tasty!! They all sound good! These are the first Wuhan hi-hats that I have heard. Did you put them together?...Just curious, they sound nice!
I'm not sure if I'm just a light hitter or what, but I haven't cracked any of my Wuhan cymbals (other than a splash I had mounted upside down on top of another cymabl). A friend of mine gave me the 20" china that I use on my Ludwig Element Birch kit and it has some major cracks...and still sounds awesome, lol
These are by far the best cymbals I have played. It is pure Insanity how cheap these are for how amazing they sound. B20 alloy at this price is unheard of. It's not just that though. These things are handmade so they have these tiny little imperfections in them, the lathing is shallow and they are actually quite beautiful too. I think it's because most drummers would laugh at you if they see that Wuhan logo on there. When I say is, keep laughing. I'll just be over here, playing things that sound like Zildjian K's for less than a third of the price. Absolutely amazing cymbals.
Wow the 21” wuhan ride cymbal sounded really good, I’ve got a 16” wuhan china which I love. All the wuhan cymbals sounded nice, probly the weakest link would be the wuhan hi hats in my opinion. That was a nice groove by the way!
Thanks! I like the 21" ride best as well (first ride I have owned bigger than a 20"). The hi-hats record pretty decently but are a little harsh to my ears in person....still great for the price though.
Yes sir, can’t beat the price. That 21” sounds beautiful lol. My wuhan china has held up for about 3 years now with no cracks. A lot of people say wuhans crack easy, but not in my experience. (Which I only have a wuhan china so I don’t know) The only cymbal I could see cracking would be a splash, that’s the only cymbals I have problems cracking. And plus you got great technique!
Out of the 15 + Wuhans I have owned...I only cracked a 8" splash and that's probably because of the way I had it mounted (upside down over another cymbal with a felt between). I now am using that cracked splash on top of a 16" china for a great stack setup/sound.
I see comments on other videos for these cymbals saying that they break super easily. Is that true? I've been looking into a good budget-friendly set of cymbals
I have yet to crack one and I have owned several of them. I'm not a "hard hitter" but I don't think durability is a huge concern with the Wuhans. Can't beat the price to sound ratio either...B20 hand hammered cymbals :)
To segue from Hero Injection's comment. Caveman hitting and super tight wing nuts would increase likelihood of breaking. Loose nuts, or no nuts at all would decrease the likelihood of breaking. A lot of rookie drummers, at least in my experience, tighten the wing nuts too tight.
I just got my 2 16" crashes (one traditional, one med. thin) and they sound amazing. I honestly should've switched a long time ago when I had a China from them. What type and size stick do you play with?
Very cool! I actually use 2 16" crashes for hi-hats and they sound great (nice and trashy, lol)! ruclips.net/video/g5FkiXE5lwQ/видео.html I use 5a sticks.
Great vid man, I'm curious because I've been a guitar/piano/bass player and recently gotten a 6 pc. Ludwig set: it's easier setting my kick drum to be like yours, where the resonant head faces the wall very close, but what do you do to make it sound better?
I setup my drums like this simply because I can fit more in my room this way :) They sound better away from the wall, but tuning is very important too ( and drum head choice). Evans EMAD heads are great for batter heads. Throwing a pillow in the kick drum always helps give it a good thump as well!
The Koi line sounds great but are kinda pricey compared to the traditional series. I would say the traditional series is the best value for sure. Can't go wrong with either though!
Yeah they sound great! I’ve got the 11” pentagon splash, and 18” crash right now, and the 14” high hats, 19” crash, and 18” trash china coming next week…. Not too bad for basically a full set of b20 under $700.00….
i have the 16 and 18 crashes with 14 zildjian i hats and 20 zildjian i ride. im getting the 10 and 12 wuhan splashes and the 16 china to complete it all after hearing these lol
Cool man! I love the sound of the wuhans! But there is one thing I don't like about how the crashes are made. I have a 16" crash, and it's done me well for the past couple years, but I had to take it off the set. Here's why: The newer Wuhans are made with the crashes being relatively thin, they didn't do much in the way of hammering, but they did some heavy lathework! The problem with that is, if the cymbal is hit slightly hard, you get a massive crack along one of its lathe lines. That's what has happened with mine, the crack is now almost halfway around the cymbal, so I had to get a different cymbal out of retirement to replace it temporarily. The wuhan chinas on the other hand, are absolutely amazing! I love the sound of all of them, but I have the 18", so it's pretty bright in sound. Also, the chinas are much more durable than the crashes. Alright, I'm done with my speech. lol
That's crappy that your cymbal cracked. I hear alot of people say that if you crash/hit hard on the Wuhans they won't hold up..... but, I can only go by my experience and I have never cracked a Wuhan crash (new traditional or any other series Wuhan) and I have owned several. I did get a new one that was warped, but the company I bought it through sent me a replacement.
Yeah. I don't like hitting hard, but it's a habit now. At my church, the mic's don't pick up the cymbals very well, so I have to hit hard for each cymbal to be heard. If I'm playing the ride for instance, a crash is normally drowned out if you hit them normal. So yeah it's unfortunate, but what ya gonna do ya know what I'm saying? OT, I started working the sound board this past Sunday, it was difficult at times, but it was fun!
HELLO BRO, DO YOU USE HEAVY STICKS? I USE 5B . I HIT HARD, BUT PROBABLY NOT AS HARD AS YOU DO, LOL. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY THE WAY WUHAN MAKES THEIR CRASH CYMBALS, BUT, I LOOK AT IT THIS WAY. IF YOU BREAK ONE, WHO CARES BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEAP ENOUGH TO BUY ANOTHER. LOL.. KEEP USING WUHANS BRO, AND BE CAREFUL. MAY BE IT WAS JUST A FLUKE, AND YOU GOT A BAD ONE, COZ I HAVE A BUNCH, AND THEY NEVER CRACKED ON ME. MY 20 INCH MEDIUM RIDE AND MY 21 INCH MED/ HVY RIDES DONT SOUND THIS GOOD. I DON'T LIKE A LOT OF WUHAN RIDES. EVEN FROM THE OLD STYLES. THEY ARE GREAT FOR CRASHES, ESPECIALLY HEAVY METAL DRUMMERS SHOULD USE THEM FOR CRASHES. LOL. IN MY OPINIONS, I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED THEIR HI HATS. THE NEW TRADITIONAL ONES, ALL SOUND GREAT. EVEN THE 13 AND 10 INCH HATS ARE AWESOME. JUST LIKE THE ONE COMMENT, I ALSO NOW WANT TO INVEST IN THE WUHAN - LINEAR CYMBALS, - THE OZONE TYPE CRASHES, AND THE - SMASHERS [STACK CYMBALS]. glen polen Aye Glen, help me out. You might be able to because you have so many of them. I’m tryna get into Wuhans, where can I go to buy an abundance of them? And possible stores (cuz I know Guitar Center won’t have them) that I can possibly try them before buying? And what’s the difference between the old traditional or western traditional series of Wuhans and the new traditional ones?
Cool... I had a few with my old drum kit... 10 splash.... 2 of 14's thin and med... I thought they sounded good... They don't brake the bank to by them
Truth be told I didn't even realize Wuhan made anything other than china cymbals until about a year ago. Just ordered a 16" crash to pair with my Soultone Natural bottom hat. I'm thinking it should be a tasy combo. Miggt even sandblast it to get that "Sand hat" vibe. For $30 used I figure "Why not?"
Yes, Wuhan makes some great sounding cymbals. I believe they have changed owners recently, so hopefully they will be distributed better now. they're relayively inexpensive, but price doesn't make the sound. i like wu's. now i want to look into one of those pentagonal splashes 😅 like i need anymore cymbals on my kit-- even splashes.
dammit why do they have to sound so good
It's near impossible to beat the sound to cost ratio of these cymbals!
Cause "the best things in life are (almost) free"!!!
That 20" medium ride sounds so good, and could crash with it as well without losing ride characteristic
Incredible
Yes, very crashable ride!
Do they have a rideable crash ? 🤔
Great grooves. And man! These cymbals sound awesome. If I was looking to by an inexpensive set of cymbals this is what I would choose and they would keep me happy for awhile. I actually feel like I got ripped off on all my top level brands lol
Thanks Andy! I really feel like they are the best sound vs cost option out there by far. I actually prefer them over alot of "high end" cymbals.
20'' medium ride like it a lot!
👍 I think it sounds good as well :)
I like this ride too...nice "ping" but still a bit washy. :)
I've been playing Saban cymbals sime since the year 2000, and I love them. But when I think about the money I had to spend to get them, it really makes me wanna scream. @ARDrummer Cool. Yeah, I believe it's the splashes and Chinas that I really like in the Wuhan line.
Amazing cymbals honestly have 14 hats . 16 crash and 16 China 18 crash and 20 ride ... fantastic sound ... paid 375 for all
They are great sounding cymbals and priced the same or less than entry level stuff :)
To me your kit and cymbals always sound great Adam!!
thanks bro!
Man...really some great cymbals at a great price point!! Nice display man! That 4:23 fill is tasty!!
They all sound good! These are the first Wuhan hi-hats that I have heard. Did you put them together?...Just curious, they sound nice!
Thanks! You can't beat Wuhan's price to quality ratio :) The hi-hats come matched from the factory...the bottom cymbal it really thick on this set
Also I love the inverted splash placement over the 16 crash ... I have a bell there
👍
You always get the best sound out if these cymbals. I tend to break wuhan chinas ... so I don’t think I’d do well with the regular cymbals. 😀👍🏻
I'm not sure if I'm just a light hitter or what, but I haven't cracked any of my Wuhan cymbals (other than a splash I had mounted upside down on top of another cymabl). The Medium Thin cymbals are pretty durable just don’t hit them like a caveman and they’ll last.

I hope this cymbal is safe from Corona :)
