Damn, Jonah Hex has had it rough. I love his appearance in Batman: The Animated Series! Such a great way to include a DC anti-hero from the 1800s by crossing paths with an immortal villain from modern day. One of the best episodes in the series! I hope he can make it into an Injustice game. Playing as Jonah Hex would be awesome!

DC could have a whole roster of good western films if they wanted to. There's lots of great characters. They could also have some great WWII films to if they wanted. I don't know why they have such a hard time making a movie when they have so much amazing source material to work with.

At the end of the day, it's like you said, they're trying to be Marvel or anti-Marvel when they should just focus on doing their own thing. Hell, I could have planned a path to a Justice League movie that would have been coherent. It's such a shame. A JSA movie would have been awesome.

I love Jonah Hex. The movie was awful and they went out of there way to make it more "comic book". Brolin was the right man for the role, but the film let him down.
Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray run is phenomenal. Live action movie is so bad that character need a redemption. I think "The Ballad of Tallulah Black" is a good story for adaptation. A good tv series could work either. Jonah Hex and his weird western stories have so much potential.

The Lansdale/Truman run has also been collected a couple of times, and all of the Palmiotti & Gray run got the TPB treatment. I don't know if we'll ever see every single Hex story collected, though, as DC doesn't seem to think it'd be profitable enough.

Josh Brolin was great as Jonah Hex, but the movie sucked and was pretty inaccurate, especially him having supernatural powers! My favorite is still the short animated movie DC Showcase: Jonah Hex, with Thomas Jane voicing Hex. If they ever make another live action Jonah Hex-movie, make it right and don't give him supernatural powers! Make it like a spaghetti western with some supernatural elements.

Now I imagine the individuals who are responsible for taking (Jonah Hex) from his time, they are a group of alien beings who worship (Lord Darkseid) & they didn’t mean to get JONAH, they were really trying to target someone else, but they miscalculated, and these tried to manipulate (Jonah Hex) into working for them in order to try to make good out of a bad outcome, but JONAH said no to their offer. In addition when the evil alien individuals tried to capture JONAH HEX, so that they could do brainwashing to him, and boy did they pay the price for trying to mess with him, and to add I imagine that while (JONAH) was escaping he came across a prisoner who was still alive, and she helped him with learning to what he needed in order for him to be able to get off the planet:APOCALYPSE. Plus to add I imagine a few hours later while (JONAH HEX) is traveling through space with his female alien ally, the two come across SUPERMAN, and BATMAN, and I imagine that both of the heroes help guide JONAH to where he, and his lady ally can find the planet:EARTH.

Ruger Blackhawks would have been right (Though Ruger Vaqueros would be more equivalent to Colt Single-Action), but nowadays with the Sports of Cowboy Action Shooting and Cowboy Fast Draw, he could have had his choice of just about any gun replica available from his time period. Which, .357 Magnum wasn't available till 1930s...
There were always Johan Hex comics around when I was younger but I never liked him. My brother and uncle read issues but I never picked them up because Johan looked to creepy for me as a kid. I stuck with normal hero comics and Richie Rich. I guess I can always go back and read them now.

My grandfather loved Jonha Hex and horror comics, had a few paper box full of them. That's how I got introduced to comics.

First time i saw Jonah Hex was in an episode of Batman TAS back in the 90s. Sadly some comics were hard to find in my area at the time.
