I’ll always remember this team, love them! From the lows of losing a bet when Wisconsin’s Ben Brust hit a 3 earlier in the season from like half court ( to go to overtime (Mich lost in OT -2.5), to the high of this game and making the championship. This game helped me win a 100 person bracket as I was the only one that had them going to the finals. This was the Kevin Ware injury year too. What a season, what a March to remember.
Can't wait 4 the tournament 2 start! This game an instant all-time classic. That Maize was sparklin'! Trey Burke did what nobody else could. And it's been way too long. Loving it now. gObLuE!
When you got a pg that can move the ball and get everyone involved early on, and then can make big shots and put the team on his back late, you won’t lose many games
burke had one of the nicest guard games I seen coming out of college. His pick and roll reads especially and his shot creating ability from beyond NBA range in college. clutch too. miss these days👏
The most underrated thing about this performance was Burke's first half. He tried desperately to get his teammates involved and played as selflessly as possible. He didn't panic and start jacking up threes. He didn't even take his first shot until the second half of the game! LOL!
Yep that's why it's such a damn blessing that he slipped to 9 which allowed the Jazz to trade for him. Cavs started out wacky by taking Bennett first which made things a lil crazy and good players started to slide. Seriously everything had to work out perfectly for the Jazz to get him, SO happy that we did
I'm a Jazz fan, Kanter has the highest ceiling of them all. It's between him and Hayward when it comes to being our leading scorer this year. And I'd put my money on Kanter. He's an animal with soft hands and touch on his jumper + around the rim. Has great footwork and works his butt off. Kanter is going to shock a LOT of people who have no idea how great he's looked. First time he had 30+ minutes in a game, he dropped a 20/20. Who does that? ANIMAAALLLLS! Okay, homer session over.
#1 he's not a bust. Give the guy a few years. #2 I remember when this happened watching it love and I swear I have not seen that big of a clutch performance in years. Hands downs he put the team on his back and got the W.
I'm a Kentucky Fan, have been for 30 years, coincidentally that's also how long I've been alive, and I know exactly how great the Fab Five Era was. Now, obviously I don't think whatever happens this year can be as great as the Fab 5 as far as culturally changing basketball, long shorts and rap music being brought to the mainstream (u gotta think, b4 them everyone was still wearing the "stockton shorts"). And the Fab 5 beat Mashburn's UK team that I thought would finally be the 1st title for us
1st title for us in my life. But the Fab 5 were able to barely beat us. This is all just to tell you how well I truly know ALL ABOUT the Fab 5. The point being, if you guys win the Nat'l Title, and I've been pulling for you since before the play-in games happened (since we sucked this year hehe), but if u guys win the Nat'l Title the "Burke Era" will indeed be > the "Fab 5 Era". Because that banner will go up that they never got. And I'll still feel bad for Webber calling that T/O. Cheers!
Can't wait till he's in the league! Kinda reminds me of AI with the jumpshot and ability to handle the ball and find open teammates , also a little drose with the driving ability
he grew up with jared sullinger in columbus, how did we miss trey burke? i love craft, who has also been in a final four and who has handed burke some ass woopings, namely the big ten tourney game last year. but, burke would have looked good in a buckeye uniform playing alongside craft. how does a team miss out on a player in their own backyard like that, especially when that player would have loved to go to your program?
They'll probably (hopefully) draft Trey and have him learn behind Calderon. Brandon's either going to be the starting SG (like he is now) or they're going to go out in Free Agency and get someone like O.J. Mayo or Andre Iguodala (if he opts out) and Knight will be a scoring sixth man / super sub.
Michigan March Madness Unis - "Wolverines" - Big Ten Champs - 1st time since 1986. Amazingly without Trey Buke, Tim Hardaway Jr., or Mitch McGary. John Beilein is amazing!
he is listed as the 3rd best choice in the draft but he's projected 6th because of all the point guards and different needs in this draft. He should go 2nd to orlando in my opinion. The only reason he would never go 1st is because cleveland already has kyrie irving.
well it looks like he's going to utah while michael-carter williams is going to new orleans with jrue holiday. (I'm still a little confused on that trade)
his feet were set just before johnson made contact. that is a defensive off-ball foul. johnson deserved everything that went wrong for him in this game after hitting someone in the nuts. that's a real classy play
In my opinion trey burke should the #1 overall pick Not saying he is doe All the other guys are good but trey burke carried the team to da championship (I don't know how they could possibly lose to Louisville)
i know what you mean that austin rivers has no talent , but to make it to the nba you know how hard it is? only 60 people a year and 30 get dropped so 30 and he was one of those 30 people around the world to get chosen. im not a hornets fan but he has some talent
so trey burke is projected to go 7th overall to the hornets... so they would have Trey Burke, Austin Rivers, Eric Gordon, and Anthony Davis as all young talent... stacked.
Laugh my fuckin ass off. Look at thus last comment, regarding burke and bust. Burke is up for ROY in the damn NBA! Watch him play, you know he's a potential star point guard and one at heart
if he is selected by the Hornets theirs still a couple issues with that lineup, Eric Gordon can't stay healthy, Austin Rivers is gonna take some time before his skills can devolope to NBA standards, judging by his mediocar rookie season he came out of college way too early, If they take burke what would they do with their vasquez, who's already a solid PG, but if you just look at Burke and Davies, that sounds like a promising duo moving forward!!!
His movements are so unorthodox that it's predictable. Go watch the before the draft practice footage with Bradley Beal and Austin Rivers. Both are Top 10 picks, but there's a stark difference between their game.
Yo this kid has got some serious game reminds me of Chris Paul a bit, though Chris is way more flashy, with time I think Trey could be the next Chris Paul.
I hear U Rukky. And everybody knows that the NBA is political. You are dealing with a lot of chains of command including the GM & the Coach. Both of them can have an affect on your play....and...whether U even stay. The right system, chemistry, goals, timing, everything matters. He's a bad boy. Still wishing he was a Piston. Nobody on our team, save Chauncey Billups can run a team as well as he can, rookie or not. Don't worry y'all.... The BURKEMAN cometh!
This game has to be top ten all time classic!!!!! Burke caught fire and was unstoppable.
I’ll always remember this team, love them! From the lows of losing a bet when Wisconsin’s Ben Brust hit a 3 earlier in the season from like half court (
to go to overtime (Mich lost in OT -2.5), to the high of this game and making the championship. This game helped me win a 100 person bracket as I was the only one that had them going to the finals. This was the Kevin Ware injury year too. What a season, what a March to remember.
Who else misses the good old days with Michigan having Burke g rob nik and hardaway🔥
I am with you. A dangerous team that ran into a roadblock in Louisville.
I miss them but we look good now number 4 in the country after being unranked the previous weeks
Simon take me back
Just wait for 2021 incoming class
As a Kansas fan even I had to come back and watch this on its 10th anniversary. Unforgettable shot by Burke
Wow looking back on this that Michigan team was loaded with pros. Even lervet who was a bench player is a future NBA player.
And a good one
Levert is the best player on the entire court looking back
And none of them were 5* type players that had to be bought like the way Self assembles his teams ;)
Talk about a fab five! 5 future first rounders on this team 2 big ten player of the years 1 Wooden Award Winner
BrWithFMJ I saw 6 pros in this video. Team was loaded
Can't wait 4 the tournament 2 start! This game an instant all-time classic. That Maize was sparklin'! Trey Burke did what nobody else could. And it's been way too long. Loving it now. gObLuE!
goosebumps
When you got a pg that can move the ball and get everyone involved early on, and then can make big shots and put the team on his back late, you won’t lose many games
burke had one of the nicest guard games I seen coming out of college. His pick and roll reads especially and his shot creating ability from beyond NBA range in college. clutch too. miss these days👏
Legendary
The most underrated thing about this performance was Burke's first half. He tried desperately to get his teammates involved and played as selflessly as possible. He didn't panic and start jacking up threes. He didn't even take his first shot until the second half of the game! LOL!
no matter how many times i watch this, the "shot" gives me chills. gona miss trey burke in ann arbor
why are people calling him a bust when he's hardly played. he just recovered from an injury and people call him a bust?
because people are dumb. trey is averaging 16 and 6 the last two months
Danny Tanner Burke is on my NBA 2k14 fantasy association and I'm about to draft Julius Randle damn thats gonna be a formindable duo lol
+Mark Jankowski now he's averaging 10-1-2 lol
Yep that's why it's such a damn blessing that he slipped to 9 which allowed the Jazz to trade for him. Cavs started out wacky by taking Bennett first which made things a lil crazy and good players started to slide. Seriously everything had to work out perfectly for the Jazz to get him, SO happy that we did
Everyone knows this 4 seed Michigan is really a 1 seed. What a team
11 years ago and I still get “chills” every time, even though I know how it plays out 〽️
My favorite game of this years tournament
That shot was clutch, crazy, and so fucking awesome. Best shot I've seen in a while
I'm a Jazz fan, Kanter has the highest ceiling of them all. It's between him and Hayward when it comes to being our leading scorer this year. And I'd put my money on Kanter. After watching this game i became addicted to college basketball
That was such an awesome night. Made me forget about NJIT for a split second
Thank u 2fresh4u24 this is a Michigan fan we will win it all
Anyone else miss Steve Kerr announcing?
this was one of the best games i've ever watched, especially because i had a fair amount of money on michigan
Thanks for posting.
cause he is a beast he was the big ten player of the year
skip to 3:36 if you wanna see the real highlight of this game. that shot was a prayer. trey burke is unbelievably clutch.
Why am I STILL watching this in 2018.
Trey Burke good luck in the draft BOI!
BURKE Future NBA rookie of the year.
Best game i have ever been to.
Trey Burke is, along with Beilein, the best thing to happen to Michigan in a long time.
Dude has great court vision no doubt
A bright future for him in the NBA.
He was sullinger's PG in high school. OSU refused to recruit him because they had aaron craft. Thanks Thad
amazing
1st title for us in my life. But the Fab 5 were able to barely beat us. This is all just to tell you how well I truly know ALL ABOUT the Fab 5. Burke was a fucking monster at the end of this game. Watching it live I was on verge of shitting my pants when he made that 40 ft jumper. God damn.
The Pistons need this guy
This is why i'm a Wolverines fan!!
Why do all the tournament videos have giant black bars on them?
Jazz is young talent
Trey Burke, Alec Burks, Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter
All five have all-star potential
I totally agree. He can't keep a consistent line-up, call time-outs, or get the players to really fight for him. He's too nice.
although kansas is the better team, trey burke was the best player on the court! Coming from a kansas fan, i hope you guys win it all! best of luck
Can't wait till he's in the league! Kinda reminds me of AI with the jumpshot and ability to handle the ball and find open teammates , also a little drose with the driving ability
Trey to Utah! Lets go BABY. #JazzNation
he is the best draft prospect, but he isn't expected to be number 1 pick because the nba is filled with talented point guards
morgans face after that last shot was awesome lol
WTF!!!??? on my computer you can watch this in 1440HD or 21604K!!?? can someone please tell me what 21604K is
Lmfffaaaaooo
Man, I wish the aspect ratio wasnt screwed up on my Apple TV.
3:40 that was the shot of the game
Nerlens Noel is projected as #1 and I don't know if they've already had the draft lottery but that will determine who has the first pick.
Damn, this guy has that clutch gene
Steve Kerr went from calling NCAA Tournament games to coaching a dynasty a few years later.
Not that I think that Corbin is very good, but how many Jazz games did you actually watch last season?
He is nice
That 30 footer my gosh
who won the game?
This is why Burke should be ahead of McLemore. In crunch time McLemore choked and Burke shined. That's what makes him the best guard in the draft.
wait who won this game
he grew up with jared sullinger in columbus, how did we miss trey burke? i love craft, who has also been in a final four and who has handed burke some ass woopings, namely the big ten tourney game last year. but, burke would have looked good in a buckeye uniform playing alongside craft. how does a team miss out on a player in their own backyard like that, especially when that player would have loved to go to your program?
True point guard. Kings, magic, or utah need him.
3:44
A mix of whoo's, ooh's, aah's, and FUUUUCCCKKK!
:)
Last time Michigan had a good basketball team. Go Blue
Uh no. Michigan won the Big Ten outright the next year. And they've done pretty well since.
Future Kings baby!!!
Everybody in the NBA was "first in high school" doesn't mean they're going to amount to anything in the Pro's.
rivers is first in the highschool pick dont ever say hes not a talent hes a machine rivers is a destroyer you just wait
Michigan March Madness Unis - "Wolverines" - Big Ten Champs - 1st time since 1986. Amazingly without Trey Buke, Tim Hardaway Jr., or Mitch McGary. John Beilein is amazing!
I don't know how trey slipped all the way out of the top three projections
He definitely should be 1 or 2 ( I personally think he should be 1)
HAIL
As a Jazz fan....... I'm so sad no one in our organization realizes this. What a depressing coach.
he is listed as the 3rd best choice in the draft but he's projected 6th because of all the point guards and different needs in this draft. He should go 2nd to orlando in my opinion. The only reason he would never go 1st is because cleveland already has kyrie irving.
Like if you got goosebumbs
This reminds me of the Memphis-Kansas game in 2008. Except this time Kansas was on the receiving end, muahaha.
I agree that he has a high ceiling. But Hayward and Favors are already good. Not just potential . but ya. i really like trey and hayward
well it looks like he's going to utah while michael-carter williams is going to new orleans with jrue holiday. (I'm still a little confused on that trade)
his feet were set just before johnson made contact. that is a defensive off-ball foul. johnson deserved everything that went wrong for him in this game after hitting someone in the nuts. that's a real classy play
I'm so sad Michigan went all the way but didn't win the tittle. They were so close to stunning everyone.
In my opinion trey burke should the #1 overall pick
Not saying he is doe
All the other guys are good but trey burke carried the team to da championship (I don't know how they could possibly lose to Louisville)
no...such a true comment.
i know what you mean that austin rivers has no talent , but to make it to the nba you know how hard it is? only 60 people a year and 30 get dropped so 30 and he was one of those 30 people around the world to get chosen. im not a hornets fan but he has some talent

right.
Laugh my fuckin ass off. Look at thus last comment, regarding burke and bust. Burke is up for ROY in the damn NBA! Watch him play, you know he's a potential star point guard and one at heart
Jay Angelo
yurube geero
None of you were a true Michigan fan since you entered the world
"Memphis had the biggest choke in tourney history",
how quickly did you forget about this failure
if he is selected by the Hornets theirs still a couple issues with that lineup, Eric Gordon can't stay healthy, Austin Rivers is gonna take some time before his skills can devolope to NBA standards, judging by his mediocar rookie season he came out of college way too early, If they take burke what would they do with their vasquez, who's already a solid PG, but if you just look at Burke and Davies, that sounds like a promising duo moving forward!!!
Not so sure about Burks and Kanter but still a young team that will be awesome SOON but not yet
Trey Burke is better then Austin Rivers, trey knows how to work of a screen and roll, and he has great dribble penetration
It sounds stupid but I might even say Burke Era > Fab Five Era.
How about this: Burke Burks Hayward Favors Kanter Gobert?
He went through the screen hard... if anything then it would be a defensive foul. McGary was set so it wouldn't be a moving pick.
The BURKEMAN cometh!
it's true though.
No, it's not full hightlight! It does not take it. To the end of overtime.
I know! What the heck?!?
