getting gundyr on the first attempt unless you got aranged weapon and stay far far away it's actually pretty hard, but let's be honest, half of them didn't even know the majority of the controls, some even acting as if they weren't the character itself and pulling the controller away because they didn't want to be responsible...

They don't know what stamina is, which is fucking torturous, and they aren't locking on either.
I get that the conceit of the "React to" is to not explain shit to them... but why? I mean, sure, you can throw them in with no advice or explanation or context, but I'd much rather explain to them what they should be trying to do so they can at least attempt to play with some skill, as opposed to watching them try to luck their way into a victory. At least after the first attempt.

I had more trouble with the pontiff knights than pontiff sulyvhann XD. I was making a smough build I had 0 vitality so the pontiff knights 1shot me, I was getting really scared of pontiff, I parryd his ass riposted and he lost half of his hp and used 3 fully charged heavy attacks *^▁^*

Dark Souls it's just dificult for those who play it for the first time. Once you know how it works, it's way easier, but way too fun and interesting
Yeah thats dark souls its hard at first but when you know the mechanics or the attacks of the boss its pretty much easy.

It is, its hard at early or first playthrought but once you mastered and known the game from the mechanic, the area, and the boss pattern it would be easy peezy especially if you also already have a good set and incredible weapons combined with your trained skills (talking about weapon, ZWEIHANDER IS DA BEST HANDER BRUH)
I’m still only able to parry gundyr at least once in the entire fight but with any other enemy it’s pretty easy for me except for spear users

I have this little thing I do at the beginning of a play through where I get the sovernless soul as my gift, kill Crystal lizard, move on to iudex gundyr, kill sword master, and use souls from Crystal lizard area and gift, and I end up with 11k souls and the sword master is the only one I ever die to...

I love how they only play the beginning, which horribly misrepresents the game's ideas and values
The beginning is a tutorial and there is a big part of "go learn the basics and apply it" being completely missed. This is applicable to any game or real life equivalent. If you keep running face first into a wall and decide to do the same thing over, then guess what the result will be.

not really. The first boss is by far the easiest and simplest to overcome. All his attacks have a huge wind up time and he doesn't combo his attacks. Which means that even if you get hit you won't die outright. He gives you plenty of time to heal too.

Dragonbasty I am disagreeing with the original OP. If I was disagreeing with you I would have replied to your post. I agree with you. The beginning is great in the way it teaches new players about the basics of fighting a boss. Avoid attacks and attack in the windows between them.

I remember watching this video about a year ago, just after beating Iudex Gundyr for the first time, wondering if I would ever achieve such skill.
I am now doing speedruns of Dark Souls 3, and am slowly mastering every boss. I am extremely bewildered and proud at my own growth at the game.

@@alexisea8874 he really isnt. Maybe in comparison with asylum demon, but not in general. His moves are striaghtforward, enough time to heal. Staggers easily. Big punish moments. First few hits whwn u pull the sword out get counted, phase change free hits. Oversimplified moveset in second phase
@@PoiColle He is. For me it was pretty easy, but my friend-beginner had his time with Gundyr. I mean, different people have different abilities when it comes to dark souls(anything actually). If everything they've ever played is casual games they'll definitely have some troubles in learning how to play dark souls. Also it may be personal sense of rythm because i had no problems with Gael, Dancer, or Friede, but Abyss watchers(I think we can agree - they're definitely easy) broke me on my first try.
Hearing some of them be like "This is one of the hardest games ever hurrdurr" hurts a bit. They reek of casul.
