I'm here from all stars. I thought sunshine would be.... Not a child of Satan. The controls are just so infuriating. It's not fun. You don't die because of your own lack of skill like you should in a good platformer, you die because everything is unfair and the controls feel like you're constantly on ice.

The soundtrack is pretty decent imo but the voice acting is actually very bad. I do find FLUDD’s voice annoying but he is a robot so it makes sense.

I used to love this game as a kid. But after setting up my old gamecube and playing it has made me realize it’s flaws.
For me, it's a good game, 7/10. But the biggest flaw was that it was the first game that caused a major retcon in the franchise. How you may ask? Well, we need to go back all the way to 1988, when Super Mario Bros. 3 was released on the NES. This was when new characters were introduced: the Koopalings. They were a clan who served under Bowser's rule and were considered his *biological* children. However, it seems thst Nintendo hated them and still do today, which gave them the decision to make Mario Sunshine in 2002, when Bowser Jr. was introduced. He would then be considered another *biological* child of Bowser. However, in 2012, Miyamoto said in an interview that the Koopalings weren't Bowser's anymore. And to top it off, Nintendo put more effort into the Junior battles than the koopalings battles. So yeah, this is why I have a grudge against the game, and Miyamoto, if I'm being honest.
love the game but there are so many bad layouts and designs like the blooper stages that just make it so frustrating

I actually somewhat hate this game as well because of how rage inducing it is and I think the controls are bad compared to the other 3D games but really this game is amazing for a GameCube game
All mario games have rage inducing levels. Its not exclusive to sunshine
@Hkg 1 have you not played the finale levels of Galaxy 2 and Odyssey (not the last level of the main campaign,just the very last level)
