binging this play list. I used to think 'bullet journal' when I heard traveler's notebook. Love that you show it can be so much more! Creative Blessings!
I just found you! I am going to get back to using a TN...I have tons of covers, books, washi, papers, etc. you have definitely got me excited about using one again!
Hi! I found your channel this morning at 2 AM. I had to fall asleep but as soon as I woke up I remembered what a great video I was watching and checked it out again. I love your style and had to subscribe :)
I have been scrapbooking for 20 years and have been pondering (procrastinating 🤣) for months to start a travelers notebook... 1- because 12x12 albums are taking over my house! And 2- there are stories/pictures that I want to document that don’t necessarily need a large layout but still important to me and this series is just what I need!! Thanks for the inspiration and fabulous ideas! It’s just what I needed as I have been struggling creatively for the past couple of months! So thank you!
I'm that person who came across your video 3 years later and yes we made it through 2020!! I have already made some of your scrapbook projects but I never tried a traveler's notebook. I just had surgery and I'm in bed for a while so I'm going to spend some time and learn from these videos!! I would like to order "The year in review 2024" when it comes out. Thanks so much for inspiring me to try something new!
Hello & welcome! Hoping for a speedy recovery for you ♥ Sounds like now's a great time to jump in with Traveler's Notebooks! When I'm not traveling, we're here on my RUclips channel on Saturday mornings at 9 am pacific doing what I call creative listing. You can find the tentative schedule through the rest of the year here on my blog - laylebymail.com/blogs/news/saturday-listing-schedule-3. There are 3 years worth of those listing videos, also here on my RUclips channel that you can access at any time - ruclips.net/p/PLX5ml2RuCU4v8lTsFQVXMazHAbHEehRoi. Have fun!!
I just found this video. Omg I did not know I needed this in my life but I am now obsessed! I am going to binge watch this series! I thought I was the only one who loves lists! I was starting to think I was weird haha! And your so down to earth not everything in your journals is pretty which is so refreshing! Thank you for this video so much so glad I found your channel! Xxx
Thank you sharing all of these. I am enjoying, bought some supplies, now to brave the fun and jump in...from Ontario, California. Hoping to move to Utah...soon.
I am new to traveler’s notebooks. This was such an informative video. I came across you after Vicki Boutin mentioned you in a FNL. Needless to say, I have now ordered by first sets and have bought your This is Me class so I can learn how to fill a book or two ❤ 1:20:29
Starting right here at the beginning and I already love you to pieces! You are beautiful with a beautiful spirit! I want to hear and learn everything you got to put out here! What a wonderful bit of luck I've had to find your channel... it's so much of what I need in my life right now. 🙏🏾 Very, very grateful..and now back to class!
LOL - limited to one hour! Love it - I did 4 hours on Dec 26 with you! It was GREAT! Best use of my Saturday time in awhile! I only started following the TN series in mid-summer - I thought I would start at the begiining to review. I love this video - so much information. See you this week, sometime! Love listening to you talk!
Hi! I’m late to the party but very interested in learning more about traveler’s notebook and seeing if it is a fit for me. Thanks for offering these videos! Onto number 2...
I have always liked the concept of a travelers notebook but never thought I’d have a use for them until now. I love al, these cool ides. I will for sure be making some of these.
I’m fairly new to the TN’s and I love your videos! You are absolutely my spirit animal!! I have lists upon lists! And I have a severe love of planners and pens... it’s become an issue and I’m currently looking for meetings in my area. I have trouble staying with one planner for more then a month and it’s becoming a bit expensive. I hope the TN will become my home permanently!! Thank you so much for you videos!! So much inspiration!! 🤗❤️
Where have you been all my life?? I have post its everywhere and then I lose them and find them after the fact!! I so needed this video set! Thank you.
Hi, I'm Delores Purçhase-Russell and I live in Vancouver BC, Canàda. I've just found your RUclips videos. I find your videos very interesting and informative and easy to understand.
Thanks for the distraction today. 😀Much needed. When I begin a new TN signature I pre-decorate it. Washi, stickers, scrapbook paper. That way I don't have to think about each new page I start. It's helpful for people with busy schedules.
Thank you so much. Truly enjoyed this! I use my TNs in much of the same ways, but now will go add “notes” pages of all your tips while I rewatch! 😂 Especially loved the part of having to create a little something for yourself every day. Same! I sleep so much better at night when I’ve added pen and washi to paper! My favorite quote is “I love my life. That’s why I decorate it!” Also would love to use my stamps more and play with mixed media, but dang that’s all so messy! Washi tape and die cuts/stickers are always my go-to. Other lists I have: essential oil recipes, favorite healthy meal options, scrapbook projects to complete, photography tips, gift ideas for friends/family. Each month I add a “ currently... “ section along with a few favorite things I’ve discovered. Your RUclips channel will be added as a favorite! Thanks again. Stay safe and well.
Layle!!!!! After watching you for months I have finally purchased a starter kit in Coral & the May/June layout kits. I can't wait for them to arrive so that I can List along with you every Saturday. As a beginner... what other tools/supplies should I purchase? I know I need adhesive tape but I am at a loss beyond that. Thank you for making creativity accessible
Your video is extremely informative. I've been a franklin covey user since 1994. Last year I bought my 1st happy planner(s). Lol 🤭🤭 I recently bought 3 travels notebooks...Idk which size I want to use....I'm so excited to see the other 8+ parts. Keep it up. I'm loving it......writing down all the things to reflect back later. I want to start a youtube channel but don't know where to start or the subject. I'm learning and putting my ideas on paper.😍😍😍
I love the idea of your travel destination city n outlined aphabets (1:12:52 into ur video) - also love the blacked out numbers n month: can u direct me to whre to purchase thse stamps. Thank u so much - looking forward to part 3 nxt wk.
Do you have a step-by-step / Journal with me or so from your Lists TN? I would love to do something similar, and your pages look so thick and nice! Thanks!
Hi Layle I JUST found your channel, so I am a new subscriber. This was AMAZING! I got so many wonderful ideas from this video. I can't wait to watch more in this series.
I absolutely love this video! I have a big question. I have some inserts but I’ve yet to write in them because I’m afraid of making a mistake! I’m wanting to do everything right but can’t seem to put pen to paper. What should I do? Also I e had to quit my job to care for my mom so what is an economical cover? Thank you!!!💞
Hi Logan. Just now seeing your comment. You could write your list on a piece of white cardstock and then adhere it to your insert. Once you get more comfortable then you could start writing directly in the insert. Another option is to write with pencil first. If it was me, I would just go for it. If you make a mistake, that happens! As far as an economical cover; you could make your own. I have a video here on my RUclips channel about making your own inserts :)
This is an amazing video chock full of fantastic information. Thank you so much for putting all of yhis together and sharing your creativity and fresh ideas.
Just found you...really enjoying your videos! I started using a TN last year and love it! Loving your style and great ideas. Very fun and inspiring. New subscriber too. TFS, Mary
In searching for a replacement notebook or journal for my purse, I came across TN. Never heard of it and now I am obsessed. Can't seem to pick the right size! So many choices?
Hi Layle! I love this series. Thank you so much for giving me a wonderful distraction from all of the chaos and sadness in the world right now. Even though I've been using TNs for a while, I made a list of so many ideas I got from this series ❤ Could you tell me where you got the cover at 33:15/44:15? Thank you!! Stay safe and well.
Wow! So inspiring and so many great ideas and tips here. Thank you! I especially love your idea of making a design template (for your airplane view pages). Such a simple suggestion-but GENIUS! What a time-saver this will be. I am late to the party here, but thank you for this great series. I am just getting into traveler’s notebooks for memory keeping and I am looking forward to watching all of your videos. Best to you! :)
Hi! Just came across ur video! Love ur ideas. Question…how do u keep ur paints from going through your page to the back of ur page when u do use mixed media? Thanks for answering!
Hi there! Great question. I carry inserts now that are designed specifically for mixed media with much heavier paper. You’ll see a Mixed Media Standard Wide Insert here on my website - laylebymail.com/collections/travelers-notebook-inserts/inserts
Layle, I purchased a Simple Stories Snap album with some plastic inserts extras. I am planning on using this for a travel notebook, what do you think? Would it be ok? I am doing more of a bible note book, daily.
Thanks so much for this!!! I am interested in starting a TN and you covered everything! Can't wait to watch part 2!! I have a question...Do you organize every insert according to a specific topic or theme or is there a little of everything in each? I'm super new and I'm having trouble coming to a decision about how I want to structure and organize my TN.
You're welcome! I do both :) Some inserts are strictly for my business, while other inserts have a little bit of everything. No right or wrong way to do it :)
@@LayleByMail so something like your bucket list that doesn't really change... do you redo it over and over with new and upcoming things or once you've done it -- it's done?
I’ve been subscribed for quite awhile (someone shared you) but I’m just now watching you. Quick question: do you make a table of contents in each notebook to reference lists you want to find? (Also, we always put clear packaging tape over all our receipts to prevent that fading…)
Thanks Jane! That's a great question. It depends on the insert I'm using (the thickness of the paper) and the type of stamp. If a stamp has a larger surface area and/or the insert has thinner papers, I'll usually trim a piece of white cardstock to fit and adhere to the page in the insert. OR if I can strategically place washi or a sticker or a die cut or a photo on the back side where it's bled through, I'll do that instead :)
Lol, I have 4 sticky notes on my desk. However I need to be reminded when Doctor's app. are, what tips I need to remember for my Cricut Machine, etc. Guilty as charged.
I've gone down a rabbit hole and I'm not sorry. What size notebooks do you use? I'm sure you use many but is there one size you gravitate towards? The black patterned one? Just trying to get an idea of sizes in use.
@@cathyosborn9905 Hi Cathy. They will not. The covers I use fit Standard and Standard Wide Inserts - 4.33x8.25 & 5x8.24, respectively. A5 inserts are 5.5x8.25 so they are too wide and will stick out when you close the cover, especially if you are using more than 1 insert.
So excited to have found you and your fabulous channel! Looking forward to binge watching all the things!!!!🩷
Welcome & enjoy!! We’re creative listing this morning at 9 am pacific time here on my channel, pop in the chat & say hello!

Lol, I have 4 sticky notes on my desk. However I need to be reminded when Doctor's app. are, what tips I need to remember for my Cricut Machine, etc. Guilty as charged.
tee hee hee! :)
I've gone down a rabbit hole and I'm not sorry. What size notebooks do you use? I'm sure you use many but is there one size you gravitate towards? The black patterned one? Just trying to get an idea of sizes in use.
Hi! 90% of what I use is Standard with Standard Wide Inserts (5x8.25).
@@LayleByMail Thank you. I thought the pages looked a bit wider than the standard.
@@LayleByMail Will A5 inserts fit in the TN cover you use--without hanging over the edge?
@@cathyosborn9905 Hi Cathy. They will not. The covers I use fit Standard and Standard Wide Inserts - 4.33x8.25 & 5x8.24, respectively. A5 inserts are 5.5x8.25 so they are too wide and will stick out when you close the cover, especially if you are using more than 1 insert.
@@LayleByMail Thank you so much
