Trippier will forever be remembered as the first to believe in the Newcastle project. Leaving champions league football for potential championship football. Came in head & shoulders above everyone else, leader on and off the pitch. Really looking forward to listening to this one lads, cheers!
Big Renty speaking facts, trippier has spearheaded the move from relegation to Europe! Not only a key signing to make the defence strong, but a leader to bring the changing room together off the back of Bruce leading us almost to the championship that season.
Very true, him and a couple of the other early lads like Burn saved us big time when we were bearing records like 14p out of half a season, sitting waaaaaay down rock bottom of the table. I won't ever forget when he scored that first freekick, it was such a big moment which set on a winning streak/mentality. Then he went on to score a 2nd freekick! :)
Spot on matty, i was going to say the same thing. Trips was the first player to buy in & now look at us. He'll always be rememebred as a legend by the fans. He's my player of the season already too. Howe-way the lads.
I have been a Newcastle supporter for 27 years, and Tripps is one of the best professionals I have seen at the club. 100% effort all the time, and delivers quality quite often. Love the man!
I'm an Atleti fan through and through and I can tell you we all grieved when Kieran left us. He was one of my favourite players in that league winning squad. It brings a huge smile to my face to see him succeeding in Newcastle and I could not be more jealous. Enjoy him, Newcastle fans.
Trippier is one of the most genuine men in football, just the way his previous managers speak about him is telling. Kieran even called Sean Dyche to thank him when Kieran won the league with Atletico madrid, technical ability is one thing, but good character is far more rare and far more valuable. He has the skills of an amazing footballer and a genuinely good hearted human being. Future manager probably!
As an Arsenal fan, hearing him talk, I've realized he is everything opposite I thought he was. He deserves every bit of success he is having at Newcastle. Thank you Kieran for sharing your story and thank you HP for making it possible.
Kieran was the first man into the breach for us. To hear him say so clearly on the record that he came for less money, with no relegation clause, for his own reasons, that is powerful. Full send, no turning back. He's not done it alone of course, but it took tremendous strength to come here and say follow me. So humble about his leadership role as well. Nothing but respect for this man. From that story of him headed back from the US at 17 to where he is now. What a story. Talisman. Legend. Possibly the most important signing in the history of the club.
@@apnawhite5175 It's curious just how many people Miggy brought with him as fans. As a paraguayan, that's my case too as to why i became a NUFC fan. He's just so loveable.
@Apna white been a supporter since the 02/03 season when they were on TV over in the champions league. That 2 nill loss to Barcelona was the first full toon game i had seen. Been a tough 20 years but I never wavered. When miggy went from ATL to NUFC I was both excited for him and worried. Many ATL fans started following NUFC once he went there. Its strange to me to sometimes see NUFC kits around the city when I had probably seen less than 5 in all those years before. Howay the lads!
Great interview: To have a player like Trippier at this club is a godsend. He is a true professional and a leader that our Newcastle squad has needed. And If wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have gotten the players like Bruno,Botman Isak ect.
As a Newcastle fan, hands down the greatest signing ✍️ in 15 years. You cannot underestimate the importance of belief, dedication and commitment of this man. He showed ultimate vulnerability in joining a club everyone had written off as relegation fodder. Thank you 🙏 so much for joining this tremendous club, we’re proud of you all and grateful for your continued work in getting this great club back where it belongs. #nufc #hwtl #onwardsandupwards
The guy is a talisman at Newcastle and what a first signing he has been since they have proper owners, the leadership on and off the pitch is carrying them to a new level
This guy is pure gold and he has fought hard to be where he is. He is the personification of this Newcastle team right now. Hard work ethic. Any top four club would love to have him. An inspiration to everyone.
Trippier's mentality and professionalism is an example for all young men to follow and apply to whatever area of life you wish to progress in. He shows the power of always turning up and providing high standards game after game - some things in life are just about sheer consistency, biding your time and then great things will come.
At SJP aswell 😍 People forget we are only a year into this, we are still basically Mike Ashleys NUFC, what Trips has done has elevated everyone, he set the standard, he set the level, he challenged the squad to be better and more importantly showed them how to do it. We will never EVER forget what this man has done for us, as a captain he's led this team to 3rd place in the league, never in our wildest dreams did we think we'd be here so fast, and it is by no uncertain terms massively down to Trips, his attitude, his quality, the example he sets. Special player and a special person, we are so grateful and proud to have him.
I didn’t think I would watch this full video as it’s pretty long, but I did, because Tripp’s is our Captain and the player who re-ignited the passion and love back into our club, he means soo much to Newcastle. What a player but even more, what a great person.
The most transformational signing Newcastle have made since Brian Kilcline. Brilliant on the pitch and off it, within 20 games he was the best right back I'd seen in 30 years of supporting the club.
So proud to have this man as my Captain, he has transformed Newcastle and as he says he came not for money but for a new challenge, integrity is everything, i had his cousin as a plasterer on my sites and he was the same, honest, hard working and a great bloke, great family it seems all brought up well and respectful

Great interview. Interesting to hear that Simeone wouldn't consider managing somewhere like England due to the language barrier. I remember when Pochettino came to Saints, he barely spoke any English, carried out all of his interviews via a translator. But on the pitch, we were transformed overnight, a special manager. Wouldn't mind having him back right now...
Top player and top mentality! We'll (Newcastle) will forever be grateful for taking a punt on us at our lowest and making great memories at our club! Here's to many more with Tripps as our captain.
To having the faith in the project and Eddie Howe leaving Athletico to a possibly relegation bound Newcastle shows such character Really hope he see's out his career at Newcastle he's made such a difference on and off the pitch even through injury vital to the squad, His ability to motivate and support his teammates and his experience playing at the highest level all make great foundations for a future in coaching & Management. ⚫⚪

Toon army legend already. Kieran Trippier . Absolute gentleman. Well done Skipper. Absolute straight from the heart interview. Cheers Paul. Black and White Toon army forever
Podcasts like this are so important to all those young players trying to reach their goals and dreams! This interview is very touching and I believe will touch the hearts of so many who are doubting themselves because of certain experiences in life! And this will give them that determination knowing that even the likes of top players like tripper have also had those setbacks and it’s so important that you allow those setbacks to be the result of your success not failure! Thank you trippier for choosing to THE TOON you are an inspiration to many and I know your definitely inspiring my boys to take the time to notice their abilities and anything is possible.no matter what! My 10 year old son had one game in particular recently playing in u11 where he was so disheartened because of missing a penalty to take his team to a final and since that has been reluctant to go back to training… having sat and watched this pod with him has helped make him realise these setbacks and fails don’t have to be the end result! I’m so pleased he’s now so determined to go back to training and I’ve got him into thinking tripper can do it then so can he!!!
Tripper is the kind of player we want at Newcastle, a team player, hardworking & no big ego. The players Eddie Howe has signed have all been like him. We want them to want to play for Newcastle & embrace the passion we have for our club! I honestly believe this is why we’ve been so successful this season!
I love these interview’s it puts all the haters in their place. They all said he’s came for the money yet he took a deduction in pay to come play here. Nice one lads 👍🏻
What a great bloke and absolute inspiration to young footballers, Trips has to be one of our best ever signings given his leadership and impact on the team
Wanted this team to win cup more than t4, would have cemented them all as club legends, hopefully we can win something with this team as many really have given everything and deserve it
We love you Trips! Top lad, top player. He has spearheaded a new era for us and set an example to the rest of the lads. Champions league next season? Hope so, HWTL!!!❤
Good Luck Trippier. Him and Ward Prowse are best free kick takers in the Premier League and I can't wait to see his next one go in. KIERON Trippier over the wall. Champions league superstar. He's a grafter. 💪🏆🍀He deserves to win a trophy just got his attitude alone and all he's been through.
Thanks Jack Al ways Stuck up For NUFC in our hardest Moments. And Kieran was the first signing through the door and one of the best his leadership on and off the Pitch has been fantastic and helped us to bring the likes of Bruno Bodman. We never expected to be where we are but we have been up in top four since before Xmas be Shame to loss out. As for Tripper Hope he stays has loads to offer NUFC now and in the Future.First Signing for our new Journey and one of the Best .Thank’s Kieran.🌑⚽️
THIS is what a true professional looks like! Oozes class from his mentality to his performance on the pitch! Coming for less money tells you everything you need to know. #NUFC legend already no matter what happens from this point onward
Trippiers commitment to his job is what all the fans love at the toon. He gets what the fans need out of a player and that is hard work. One of the best signings for newcastle.
For some reason most English players have a hard time adjusting to continental play/life. Dunno why. Trippier was well liked at Atletico, but I can understand why he wanted to go back. But at Atletico will never forget his great performance on March 11, 2020, against Liverpool at Anfield. FORZA KIERAN!!!
Absolutely brilliant podcast. You can see the influence that Diego sineone has had on Trippier and his mentality, and on Eddie howe and the way he manages and tries to motivate the players. We néed to tap into the emotion of the players, the fans, the club, the city to be able to go on to another level. The changing room should be full of players family photos, photos of fans from years gone by, photos of ex players and legends, music from the fans, letters from the fans, children, pensioners, Local history etc The club needs to use the emotion of this city to bring us all onto another level. When the players feel loved, and can feel the emotion of the club, they play to that extra level and respect goes up a notch all round. Eddie howe is doing a brilliant job, and needs to keep pushing forward with his management, his emotional management and I have no doubt we will bring in the right characters to move forward. Fingers crossed it'll be in the champions league, because this group of players have played well above themselves and deserve to be where they are right now. 2 more wins should be enough to get that, so onwards and upwards. Brilliant that we have a good leadership group with high standards at Newcastle these days. No players should be carried and be a luxury. Everyone needs to be pulling forward together ⚫⚪
@@lukebrown8580 he was the first player who believed in the project. He was the first player to start a massive project and because of him plenty of top class players followed.

Always rated trippier since he played for Burnley as it’s my local team and I couldn’t be any more happier that he was the one of all to take the biggest risk and joined our relegation threatened, Bruceball broken club (before Mandy and Howe.) I will never forget the risk that he took and the high attraction his name would bring on players and the takeover ambition, and also his leadership on and off the pitch. They are qualities just to name a few that he possesses. Really enjoyed listening to this it opened my eyes on the stuff that you don’t see on the pitch which makes football a lot more personal to various top level players and managers
Big thanks to Kieran for signing for the toon 👍He's been a brilliant signing and has been a great leader 👍Definitely the best right back we've had at Newcastle.
I was sat in the gallowgate end for his debut against Cambridge. We got beat 1 nil but watching him play that game, coaching the other defenders and geeing them up was a joy to behold. He done this all the remaining matches of the season and dragged us out the mire and propelled us to mid table and beyond. What a signing, what a team !!!
Fingers crossed they've got Trips working with Harrison Ashby, don't know much about the lad but if he can learn a thing or two from someone as experienced as Trippier he could be promising.
Tremendous work again guys this was an exceptional listen. A lot of the replies from Newcastle fans for obvious reasons and as one of the Toon Army myself I can honestly say that he was the turning point in what’s looking to be an incredible journey for all involved. I’m always fascinated by the way he speaks about Diego Simeone and I’ll have to find out the name of this documentary he’s referenced in several interviews I’ve seen. I would hope he gets to read some of the kind words we’ve all got to say about him because not only has he been a revelation at full back since he signed, the part that stands out most for me is when he was injured and he was still there through it all by his teammate’s sides. It’s reiterated relentlessly that attitude and dedication can be two of the most powerful tools in any walk of life and the example set by Kieran after the things he’s been through and beaten off is appreciated by the fans, the club and most importantly by the city. Our leader. Our captain. ❤⚫️⚪️⚫️
hes a credit to himself... a proper footballer. Could have easily doubled his wage and done what a lot of players do entering the last phase of their career but hes been a bargain transfer. Hes a major part why Newcastle are on the up
The most important signing we made. A real leader, with a world class attitude. Definitely the best right back in the league and our only World Class player in the squad. Others have potential like Bruno and Isak, Botman, but in Trippier, we sign a world class player. Something we haven't had since Shearer.
His free kick to put England one goal up in a World Cup semi final was an amazing feeling from a fan's perspective. Owen's goal in the QF against Brazil in 02, Lineker's equaliser against Germany in 1990, Shearer's header against Germany in 96. The results might not have worked out but those moments of joy where you think it really could happen are what football's all about. Winning trophies is always an anticlimax.. the moments along the way are what it's all about.
Absolutely!! The Journey is true Joy for any team winning whatever Trophy! I remember that free kick, and as Spurs fan who loved Eriksen, who took almost every kick, even I thought we haven’t utilized Tripps full ability! Started Newcastle Career hitting 3 of first 4 free kicks. Always liked Tripps who really was Balling as he improved, but because he replaced Kyle Walker, never got praise he deserved. That Free Kick for England, Winning La Liga for Ath. Madrid, and then joined Newcastle finally earned him respect he deserved!!
I can't put into words what this man means to us Newcastle fans. We just think he's the bees knees. He's so much more than just a player, he's a leader who has an infectious energy, high standards, empathy and passion.

Top class, all of it (this channel, the questions, Trippier..). 🎉
Weve missed him at Tottenham. Im happy to see him doing so well.
THIS is what a true professional looks like! Oozes class from his mentality to his performance on the pitch! Coming for less money tells you everything you need to know.
#NUFC legend already no matter what happens from this point onward
Excellent character ! Just what Newcastle needed, still need. Hope he finds another role within when his playing days are over.
Trippiers commitment to his job is what all the fans love at the toon. He gets what the fans need out of a player and that is hard work. One of the best signings for newcastle.
Easy to be committed when earning a fortune mate
@@lukebrown8580 it is easy yet not all are commited.
@@lukebrown8580 sounds like ur jealous u failed ur West Ham academy trials, jog on mate ur havin a mare
What a genuine, great guy. Didn't realise !
And now he has contributed hugely to getting us into the Champions League. What a legend!!
Absolutely brilliant podcast.
You can see the influence that Diego sineone has had on Trippier and his mentality, and on Eddie howe and the way he manages and tries to motivate the players.
We néed to tap into the emotion of the players, the fans, the club, the city to be able to go on to another level.
The changing room should be full of players family photos, photos of fans from years gone by, photos of ex players and legends, music from the fans, letters from the fans, children, pensioners, Local history etc
The club needs to use the emotion of this city to bring us all onto another level.
Everyone needs to be pulling forward together

Awesome lads thank you 🙏 keep it up 👍🏼
The first player who believed in the project. Top man and a top player. Kieran Trippier will be a club legend.
A club legend? He’s 32, if you don’t win nothing in the next 2/3 years he will be retired and not remembered for nothing Newcastle related
@@lukebrown8580 he was the first player who believed in the project. He was the first player to start a massive project and because of him plenty of top class players followed.
@@THEGoat12381 your right he started it all
@@THEGoat12381 being part of a project makes you a legend ?
@@lukebrown8580 joining a club when they are in the relegation zone. Gets them out of relegation and then gets the team to a cup final and European football. Winning something is a relevant. Trippier started and other players followed a believed in the project. Legend.
Trippier seems down to earth and focused - perfect combination for success
Always rated trippier since he played for Burnley as it’s my local team and I couldn’t be any more happier that he was the one of all to take the biggest risk and joined our relegation threatened, Bruceball broken club (before Mandy and Howe.)
I will never forget the risk that he took and the high attraction his name would bring on players and the takeover ambition, and also his leadership on and off the pitch. They are qualities just to name a few that he possesses. Really enjoyed listening to this it opened my eyes on the stuff that you don’t see on the pitch which makes football a lot more personal to various top level players and managers
Well done Jake always got are back great interview
Loved this podcast so refreshing to see people we idolise talk about how normal their lives are, my captain⚫️⚪️
I was sat in the Milburn he honestly is the best player and leader any could ask for
I just wish he was at least 5 years younger. Shame that he wont have much longer left and we'll have to replace him.
His influence will be felt for many years, pretty sure he will stay on beyond his playing days
Exactly. He was still being a leader when he was on crutches.
It's refreshing to see current players doing these sorts of things and just being a person
hes a credit to himself... a proper footballer. Could have easily doubled his wage and done what a lot of players do entering the last phase of their career but hes been a bargain transfer. Hes a major part why Newcastle are on the up
Respect to Trippier. Top class player. For me first choice in his position for England. Wish him all the success - Forest fan!
As a united fan, gutted we didnt pick him up before Newcastle. Extremely good player.
So glad this bloke chose the Toon. Will go down as a Newcastle legend.
The most important signing since the takeover. His role in us stabilising and climbing the league cannot be understated.
1:18:00 for the Newcastle United chat
Legend
The most important signing we made. A real leader, with a world class attitude. Definitely the best right back in the league and our only World Class player in the squad. Others have potential like Bruno and Isak, Botman, but in Trippier, we sign a world class player. Something we haven't had since Shearer.
Trips will be a true Legend 🤛 True Northen Gent
I didn't know that Tripper was a city youth product.
Shows how far he has come, great player.
Couldn’t of imagined a better man to lead the team into the new era
Thanks for this
board cast. 👍...
..P.s, Behind Every Successful Man Is A Strong Loving Woman!!.
A great straight talking podcast. 👏⚽️
Proper captain material this bloke.
Love the energy, great vid, staying positive!
I love this guy. What an outstanding role model. He deserves major success.
I can't put into words what this man means to us Newcastle fans. We just think he's the bees knees. He's so much more than just a player, he's a leader who has an infectious energy, high standards, empathy and passion.
Wait until you’ve got tierney on the other side that will be some line up at full backs
