It takes about 15 minutes to get used to the animation style, but I'm pleased to say this film is one of the best in the franchise. It's such a breath of fresh air to get a story that isn't just about Goku and Vegeta.
IGN: Super Hero is the love letter to the series' most stable father-son relationship... Goku: (halfway standing up to receive award) IGN: ....Piccolo and his surrogate son Gohan.
What brought the score to a 7 though, IGN was pretty positive except for the occasional animation hiccup, did the animation bring it down 3 points 🤨. If it was a story reason they could have just vaguely referenced it but no all we have is animation hiccups to go off of.
"Saiyans are really small until they have a massive growth spurt." LOL, tribute to Goku's rapid growth spurt in DB. Only Gohan and Trunks really have teen forms.

The entire plot revolves around Piccolo - he is involved with every character in the film and we follow his journey. Gohan is the secondary protagonist in this movie, he doesn't have nearly as much screen time as Piccolo.

This movie was not a 7/10. It was full of fan service so it’s that’s your thing then cool. The story was forced, none of the awesome moments and victories felt earned. The main villain was a mindless monster, Broly was way more flushed out. The new androids were a bright spot. Ultimately this movie felt superficial. 3/10 for me. I’m sorely disappointed.

One of my favorite parts of Super was seeing Piccolo and Gohan fight together. Honestly can’t wait to see this movie.
