The reason why people kept wondering what it would've been if they fought in their prime is simple, it would have been so much more exciting a fight than what we had. Floyd ,although he was always a defensive fighter, threw more punches and combinations. Manny was always the volume puncher but he was also less of a counter puncher and always initiated the fight. It would've been a war instead of the snooze fest we had.
The reason why the fight was considered too late is because a Speedy fighter (Pac) declines, and loses explosiveness faster than a defensive fighter (Mayweather). It's pretty like a slasher NBA player's prime years (Drose, Dwade) won't last as long as a sharp shooter (Curry). So just imagine if a 36 year old Dwade went against a 38 year old Curry, obviously both would have declined but Dwade will show more. That's literally what happened to the Mayweather and Pacquiao fight.

The reason why people kept wondering what it would've been if they fought in their prime is simple, it would have been so much more exciting a fight than what we had. Floyd ,although he was always a defensive fighter, threw more punches and combinations. Manny was always the volume puncher but he was also less of a counter puncher and always initiated the fight. It would've been a war instead of the snooze fest we had.

The reason why the fight was considered too late is because a Speedy fighter (Pac) declines, and loses explosiveness faster than a defensive fighter (Mayweather). It's pretty like a slasher NBA player's prime years (Drose, Dwade) won't last as long as a sharp shooter (Curry). So just imagine if a 36 year old Dwade went against a 38 year old Curry, obviously both would have declined but Dwade will show more. That's literally what happened to the Mayweather and Pacquiao fight.
