  • In this video I show you how I create magical night photos in Photoshop. It's a trick that I developed after spending a lot of time shooting nightscapes. Here's a link to download one of my shots from the tutorial along with my star photo - www.tom-archer.com/create-mag...

Thanks so much everyone for watching. I've had such a great reaction to my first few tutorials but one thing you all asked for is some editing videos. So here is the first of many :) What would you like to learn next?

I'm into photography for 6-7 months and I think the most important thing is the experience. We need to pick our camera and go out and shoot! I'd love to know more about the golden hour. I know there numerous tutorials or videos about the golden our here, on youtube, but I'd like to hear some things from you.

Gorkem Inan I completely agree! That sounds like a good tutorial to make. I’ll put it on the list to make soon 😊

Awesome mate, great to see the effort that goes in behind the scenes to get the final results you do!

Nick Barnard thanks Nick. It’s actually interested recording this as it makes me think more about my editing. I’m so used to it, it’s almost autopilot now adays !

I came across you on Instagram then found your channel. I've used the technique that you describe in this video on one of my images and I'm really pleased with the outcome. Thanks.

I really love this video, and the process. I have an ongoing feud with the members of my local photography club that try to make me submit to the idea that all editing of images is “fake”. Happy to see I am not the only one being creative.

Thank you Bart. I completely understand. For me, photography is art, I create an image that is how my mind remembers the scene. I think as long as you are honest about it, there shouldnt be any issues :)

yeah exactly that. Also, for those saying the old masters did not Edit, Ansel Adams Wrote 3 books on the process for the Darkroom.

Thank you for the video! I don't like how you added stars, since it feels a bit a composite to me, but I still enjoyed the video :)

Great one! Doing it similar. One thing I noticed was that layover line on the right. Seems like the star layer created that and you didn’t saw it.

Thanks Niklas! A few people have said about that. Its actually a plane trail or a cloud, well, its in the original RAW file anyway
