Dvd Collection update for October 9th 2008 showing the dvds Ive gotten over the last couple of weeks. In the update I talk about and give my reviews of the dvds and the movies themselves.

My dad and I always used to watch Rocko's Modern Life together when I was a kid and he and I were always wondering why there wasn't a DVD release. My question is, is there anything else besides "The Best of Rocko's Modern Life Vol. 1 and 2" on Amazon or is that it for now? I'd like to buy them for him as a gift, do you think it's worth it?

I am from the UK and I saw Beetlejuice on Blu-ray in HMV. I SO NEARLY GOT IT. It was only the case though, it did not have the nice 3D artwork or a sleeve to it. I have the old regular DVD version that has 2 sides (4:3 / 16:9).
And there is a soundtrack for Beetlejuice, I know because I own it. I oftne listen to the tracks you mention, a few of my other favorites from it are: 'In The Model' and 'The Fly'.

I'm definately going to pick up JACK BROOK'S MONSTER SLAYER...I was reading about it and I didn't think that it would be that good, but you've convinced me.

As of the present day, the Turner Entertainment Co. unit of Time Warner owns the rights to the pre-1986 MGM film library with Warner Bros. handling distribution. However, there are a small number of pre-1986 MGM films whose rights were not able to be renewed
i love rest stop and cant wait 4 the 2nd it was one of the best flims i have seen scince i know what you did last summer and think the 2nd rest stop will be just as good as the 1st
Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Beetlejuice are my favs from the ones u got this week. I love Jason Segel and Russel Brand in FSM, and Beetlejuice totally got me into Geena Davis, LOVE HER!

Warner owns all of MGM back catalogue prior to like 1986. They have for a long time.

Is there an echo in here? That's what I just said, IMAGE files can hide viruses in them, not movies. If you choose just to download the movie and not all the rest of the crap some people put in torrents you're fine. Another thing, if you have good anti malware, anti virus, anti spyware and a good firewall running (which you should have anyway) it barely even matters. I have had viruses but they're easily dealt with. As long as you aren't a noob with a computer, torrenting is perfectly safe.

Ya, people would by Rocko's Modern Life... no idea why the bigwigs at Nick don't sale their classics.
I thought that some of the one-eyed monsters in Jack Brooks were CGI enhanced. They looked that way to me, IMO... but most reviews seem to mention no CGI like you said. Maybe it's because the costumes look a tad cartoony that I thought it was CGI.

i kind of agree with you though, americas people are mostly overweight, and yes their food is very unhealthy, their candy is actually unswallowable. Watch the video where Pete Wiggins is in the Ellen Show and tells about his favorite food, that is typical.

Just curious, you mentioned that Joy Ride 2 you didnt think would be that good, so why waste money on it and buy it? Just rent it and watch it and then put your money towards movies you really like and want to buy.

What's the rush? The first is 3 hours of unneeded scenes and boredom. Only the second is great, and the third good.

It's called bit torrent dude, know it, use it, love it. You basically pissed away thousands of dollars for nothing here man. And yes, you can get whole DVDs with ads and all that other shit. Most people also upload the DVD jacket so you can print it out and then buy a case to put it in, it's just like the real thing only free. And yes again, they have BlueRay too.

WARNING! Dude, don watch five across the eye..it sucks so bad..it´s totaly worthless. Jack brooks Monster Slayer on the otherhand is one of the best horror movie in a long time so i agree with you on that one.
How many DVD's do you have in total? How come you don't just get a carryinng case, that's what I did because the FOX corporation can't make a decent boxset.

I found a copy of that Star Wars movie online. Ugh. It was nowhere near as funny as Shawn claims it is. I didn't laugh once. I tried to hard to watch it, but I couldn't. I couldn't even make it through fifteen minutes, it was so bad. I'd rather watch Freddy Got Fingered, if that gives you any ideas.
