You guys catch that capacitor trick? I'll be keeping that. I bet you could spend a day with this guy and come away with a notebook full of live circuit/prototyping tips and tricks. Suppose I'll be patient and collect them one RUclips at a time. 😬
I have a feeling the resistor is for timing. It would be interesting to try putting your licked finger across the resistor terminals just to see if the pitch changes.
I wonder what it would sound like with a decent speaker. Also, nice trick with the capacitor. I've used high value half watt resistors for years to connect clip leads to terminal blocks. Not much use for a 10 megohm 1/2 watt resistor in most of today's electronics!
This is why I harvest from older equipments. Especially nice when you find precision resistors or inductors. The board I’ve obtained from old security door knob hangers sound worst with bigger speakers and really give away the generic dog bark.
i think it is a chip used in squeeze toys, for in a greeting card the requirement for a 0,25 - 2 Watt speaker is too high, because those use a Piëzo disc as speaker.
www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/KYOCERA-AVX/SA105E103MAA?qs=eQ5yvmFuBS514aJLW1brmA%3D%3D I should say, I use these only because I bought a reel of 7000 parts at a flea market for $1. They aren't great parts.
I wonder if that's the same chip that is used in some crappy burglar deterrent that's sold in garbage catalogs like Harriot Carter. I'd bet money on this being the case.

Well!, my boxer pricked up her ears at that!, although it sounded more like my vintage austin seven wheezing over on a flat battery.
I have a similar chip to this, which plays laughter. Chinese manufacturers have these kind of chips basically for "everything".
It's a good thing they are protecting that valuable IP under a blob of epoxy.
Love the highly technical command; Down Boy !!

Finally, something useful!
I have a couple of these. Pulled from cheap security door knob touch sensor.
Also the ones I’ve obtained have a standard alarm noise as well.
That sound was supposed to be a dog bark?
Like the candles there can play music it will probably change the speed if cooled or heated up.
Part 2 needs to be IMSAI Dog's evaluation of this product.
Good enough that my australian shepherd is barking her head off.

Bark!
Most bizarre
That dog has a chinese accent.
I'm going to buy some of these. Thanks!
I would be soooo tempted to go after that blob of epoxy with a Dremel tool and a wire wheel.
Neat. I wonder if they do any others with different sounds ?
thats someones IC!!!
Sounds more like a yappy yorkie :-)
Very special.

That Rottweiler needs a visit to to vets.Sounds half dead.
give a link or brand of 0.1 capacitors that you use. Thank you

Clearly, not everyone loves THIS chip of the day.
Please tell us IMSAI dog's reaction!
Wow! That is both useless and annoying. Thanks!
Fascinating !!

Amazing
8-bit dog!
1 bite
IMSAI Guy: any idea what the real chip is under the epoxy?
nope
Love it! 🤣
Left channel audio is weak.
Another cheap Halloween chip (bloob) with slight modification to the trigger (-:
that was a waste of 35 cents LOL
