Concrete Jungle Solo Collection - Bob Marley & the Wailers

- Another solo collection of a famous Bob Marley song which was released in 1973 on "Catch A Fire". It was orginally a guitar solo but due to the lack of a guitarist in 1973, Earl Lindo played the solo on the keyboards when they were on tour.
Al Anderson joined the Wailers 1974 and on Natty Dread tour he was the lead guitarist. After Al left the band, they didn't play the song live until 1977 when Junior Marvin took over the lead guitar.
Al Anderson later returned to the Wailers 1978 and Concrete Jungle became a standard song on the following three tours. Unfortantely, they never played (AFAIK) it 1980.
The first 25 seconds of this video is from Pinecrest Country Club, Shelton 1978-06-14.
Wayne Perkins. By far. Probably my favorite studio guitar solo of all time.
Perfect.
There is a good Wayne Perkins inteview in whch he talks about that recording session - I am sure you can Google it. Basically he was never part of the planned record - he just happened to be at the studio at the same time, and ended up getting roped in to doing some lead work. He had never even hear reggae before, but apparently he hit it off with Bob, and after (I think) the third take, Marley came out of the engineer's booth with a huge smile on his face and gave him a bear hug. :.)
Not true. During the catch a fire album creation Chris Blackwell wanted a guitarist who could play like a rock guitarist so that Bobs music would reach a wider audience that’s why he brought in Wayne Perkins as a session guitarist specifically for that reason. When they began to tour he brought in Al Anderson for that same reason.
@@maggarlion you may be right, but that's not the way that Wayne told it.
i will never be able to hear this solo loud enough. giving me goosebumps all the time :)
Amazing; I can not get enough Bob Marley or the Wailers - best music of all time.
Bob used to work hard to give thé best
@@abdacnc3969 That's right. It wasn't a game, he was serious about music.
C'est magnifique. Tous les solistes sont tops mais c'est Al Anderson avec ses subtilités qui m'a impressionné.ttop fort
Al Anderson's solos are always the best! This guy managed to improve what was already good (by Perkins, a masterpiece solo). All Al's solos are improving it. Always!
The Al Anderson's are the best. Especially th last one
Merci pour le partage de cette merveille du monde
Santa barbara the best nice solo 😍🎸
Il mio preferito Al Anderson in Santa Barbara 1979... Al is the best !!

Santa barbara beat of solo 🥰🥰😍😍❤❤
Bob y los Wailers los más grandes. Concrete Jungle mi canción favorita de reggae 💚💛❤️
Nice compilation 👍👍 The best live solo for this song imo is from Babylon By Bus in which I believe was Al Anderson on lead, but Wayne Perkins studio solo still has that magic that can’t be reproduced live with that studio feedback from the reverb. One of the best guitar solos in reggae music to this date
Al Anderson!
The last solo is by far the best .. Gives me gooosebumps. Take me to guitar heaven!!! Wish I could play like that. Gonna make sure I get the bass-play correct after a lot of practice though. Thanks for posting:)
You are Right. Imagine tearing that solo on a gig :O
Me too. I bought the DVD through amazon and cannot stop watching it over and over again. It was also a very long concert. Shows you Bob's heartfelt selfless passion for music!
All Anderson the best.
The best Brasil.
Very well done video that focuses on the heart of reggae music and the supreme art of guitar. Thank you so much!!
The first one is the best solo. I wish they could try to replicate it in a Ziggy Marley or Junior Marvin
