Yes, he slept with Bathsheba, and he "sowed"pretty effectively. The death of their love child avoided any later problems with the succession. If the prophet Nathan had not confronted king David of his double sins --for committing adultery with Bathsheba and later sending the husband Uriah to be killed in battle or premedidated murder of Uriah ,would David confess of his sins? Literally he was çornered by the prophet Nathan and he has no other choice but to confess . King David literally destroyed the families and lineage of Uriah and the other officers who fought alongside Uriah . 2 SAM 11 : 17

What I believe that we can learn from David's dalliance with Bathsheba, his murder of Uriah, and the death of his baby son with Bathsheba, is that we can suffer consequences from our actions. I loved how the narrator quoted Galatians 6:7 as a way to show that everyone deals with the consequences of sins. It was a poignant way of making his point about King David's family and nation starting to fall apart after his adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband, Uriah.

Not just adultery also he raped bathseba. He was a king and women didnt have a say over their body and in most parts of the world this still goes on. She couldnt say no and most people dont want to talk about the ugly parts of those times and yet The Lord remained faithful. The Lord forgave and showed so much mercy on David.

There isn’t any evidence to show that Bathsheba was aware that King David saw her bathing from his roof top. I doubt she was this scheming adulteress that you want to paint her as. In fact, when Nathan the Prophet rebuked King David for his sin, God blamed David for this whole ordeal. Bathsheba was merely a pawn used to further David’s desires and lusts.

First, David is a prophet whom God gave kingship, and what is said about David in terms of accusations against him is incorrect. These accusations do not befit prophets, but unfortunately the ones who invented these false accusations are the Jews, because they say that David is a king and not a prophet.

A lot of people overlook the rape of Bathsheba. We have to understand women were treated as property back then. Women didn’t have much say over their own body.
