good job on this build. i know how long it takes to build a ship like this and you have a very high level of detail and consistency and it’s incredible
Absolutely stunning finished product. Outside of the copper plating on the hull and the paint, what additional parts/materials did you add to the build?
Thank you kindly. I think that's all, except there were a few parts that didn't fit where they were supposed to. The kit did come with sails, but like most of the boats that I build, I chose not to add them. I also will build a better base for Pilar as the one supplied is very light, flimsy and doesn't look good. If you haven't seen them yet, I have four other builds on the tube. Check them out. Thanks for the interest.
Hi Jean. This isn't one that I would recommend as a starter, but it does have pretty good instructions pics and drawings. Also, the model being so large all the parts are easier to make. I wish you good luck, and use You Tube for help when needed.
Hi Mario This is made by OcCre. They are a company in Spain. They also are the best model company out there. You can find them on the Web. and all the models that they make. They are the best to deal with, and are very fast at mailing orders out. It only took one week for this to get to me here in Missouri. Hope this helps, Gordon
Superb build of a graceful ship. Please excuse these two petty nitpickings: Those flags are crying to be waved, and the floor planking looks too new to me, almost like the pavement of a luxurious reception/dancing hall.
Hi and welcome. Yes you are correct about both. First, where do your interests lie? there are all kinds of sail boats, ships ect. There are many model making companies. I would suggest OcCre. Find them on line and browse their kits. Start small and for beginers. Also watch as many RUclips videos as you can. You can probably find a vid of the boat you select and follow along. OcCre has a great customer service department plus guarantees. Hope this helps. I am here if you need more.
...I hope I do not sound impertinent... but too bad you do not give us any information about the real ship Nuestra Señora del Pilar... I am interested on the ships of La Gran Armada... and also on the English ships that confronted them in 1588... I have three or four books on that subejct... Some times they are difficult to understand because of the technical information...
Hi Adam. I do research every ship that I build. You are the first one to show interest in the histories. Also it is very easy for anyone to google and read for themselves.. I can tell you that Pilar sank off the island of Guam, and the search continues for her. Her last voyage brought her from Central America Layden with much treasure in her holds. I'm including the link for you. www.nytimes.com/2001/06/14/style/IHT-can-the-pilar-be-foundand-whats-in-it-deep-in-the-pacific-a-plunge.html
Not sure what you are telling me. If it's about my spelling, I don't read right or understand much spanish. Much less how to get the correct lines over the N
Clever! Beautiful.
Thank you much.
Seems like it took a long time to get here, but the build was only six months. Next will be the Suprise, so check back in another six for that build.

Thank you. I'm going to need to add on a new boat room, I'm running out of room in this one.
My respect for patience and skils❤

Thank you kindly. I have four others if you wish to have a look. Charles W Morgan, The Royal Caroline, Endeavour and the Harmoine.
Very nice. congrats on a great build. Ive been eying this kit I think the stern is really cool looking.
Thanks. Beware, this ship is huge. Same size as Montaines. I have built her also, but didn't get that one on video. Fun builds though.
That would be great to do where I live. I can’t get to town for months in during winter and other than household stuff I’m hunting.
wowwww!!! Top!!

Awesome work!!! My husband and I are actually building this model - it is our FIRST model. It doesn't look quite as good as yours. 🤣

Correct on both issues. I got lazy. Thanks for the comment.
Very nice work
Thank you kindly.
I know it’s a time and money intensive Hobby. What’s the best way to get into it? What kind of kit should I buy and try out for a beginner?
