- This is the opening theme song as it aired on NBC, when the two series aired together in a one-hour block in the 1990-1991 season.
Also included, before it, is a partial episode teaser for "When Mother Brain Rules" (the voiceless clips episode) and most of the teaser for the SMB3 episode, "7 Continents for 7 Koopas". Apparently, the two episodes aired together at least once.

The Captain N episode was sandwiched between two SMB3 episodes. This resulted in Captain N being spread over two half-hour blocks. I remember that I'd sometimes switch to ABC halfway through a Captain N episode, because Ghostbusters was about to start.

Oh thank you thank you! I been searching for this forever! Its been forever since i saw this actually live on NBC. Its such a shame that they couldnt at least put this intro onto the dvd set as a extra for both sets. Thank you so much and keep up the good work. I dont mean to be a burden but if you have any spear time, if you got the outro i'd be in your debt :).
Thanks for uploading this intro for Captain N and the Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3. Been looking for that since forever.
And now,
"CAPTAIN N,
AND THE ADVENTURES OF SUPER MARIO BROTHERS THREE"!
==================================================
When my father disappeared and Mother Brain try to takeover VideoLand,
their only hope laid an ancient prophecy that a great warrior from another world,
would come to our rescue.
I admit,
I was a bit sceptical when Kevin showed up,
but now, I don't know how we ever get along without him.
==================================================
It is a legend no one will forget.
Everyone thought King Koopa have left The Mushroom Kingdom.
And then,
His Doomship attacked!
King Koopa was back!
With the greatest danger ever known,
His Koopa Kids!
And with their new super powers,
The Super Mario Brothers rescue Princess Toadstool,
and beat back,
The Evil Koopa Family!
I'll get those plumbers!
yeah previews of the episodes that were gtonna be played that day, which honestly is what gets you in the mood of the series back then. Dang shame Shout Factory didnt do that for the sets.
80s and 90s who doesn't love em
I've got the outro, but I gotta clear some hard drive space to have enough free space to rip an entire episode to my hard drive. Then I can select just the outro and upload it.
Well, what are you waiting for? Bring on the outro! lol!
I think remembering back durning its original airing and what i been hearing online, i believe its goes "Super Mario 3 Ep1 / Captain N Ep / Super Mario 3 Eps".
Coopers voice was the funniest.
Hopefully if you come back to uploading captain n series that u can upload any of the Captain N And AOSMB3 episodes together. I'm trying this year to do that but it wont be accurate as it was on NBC days. I wish someone had the bumpers they played cause thats pretty much what i am missing.
Fuck this!!! Captain N/Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 over BET rap city any day
Do you still have your tapes?
How many commercial breaks did the hour-long block have? Six or seven?
+Vahan Nisanian I'm actually not sure, because I don't think I have an entire hour-long block taped.
+tuxedomark I see.
Also, did you get my PM? I was surprised to find the season 2 premiere in its original NBC form. I sent it to you 3 weeks ago.
+Vahan Nisanian No, I didn't. It went into the Likely Spam folder. I just saw it, and I'm downloading the episode now.

Let's see if I have this right. :)
1. right after the intro
2. in the middle of the first Mario cartoon or after the first act of Captain N (the reruns ran this way at least once)
3. after the Mario cartoon
4. a few minutes into Captain N
5. halfway through Captain N
6. at the end of Captain N
7. after the last Mario Cartoon before the closing credits
Luckily they weren't too long.
