It was 2005, and I was either on Retrojunk or some other similar site (pretty sure this was before YT), and I came across this intro and couldn't believe it! I immediately got the nostalgia feels and knew all the words and sang along. Funniest part was I lived in an apartment with my best friend, and I had the volume up and he walked in the room and I paused it right after "Look up there, way up high..." and without skipping a beat he goes "KOALAS IN BALLOONS!" (this is why we're best friends)
I am a 38 year old Army sergeant and I watched this back in the 80's....when I heard this music I started to sing along and cry at the same time; my wife just looked at me like I was crazy! I loved the 80's
Wow. I am 40 and used to watch this as a kid along with Noozles, not even realizing it was anime. Such a great time. This was a nice trip down old memory lane.
My hazey memories kepe mixing and blending the two together it's.... disturbing how i can literally hum along ot this even though i havne't heard this in over thirty years.
I'm a 38 yr old U.S. Marine and this hit a soft spot for me. I'm feeling nostalgic and tearing up. No,Im not gon' cry,but I was so happy back then. Life isn't bad,but boy....this was a golden era in life.
I’m turning 40 next week, and was in need of some nostalgia from my childhood. I was born in 1981, and I watched Nick Jr. as a kid. Shout out to all of the 80s & early 90s kids!
Every single time I hear and see this it takes me right back to the late 80's as a child. Maya the Bee, David the Gnome and Adventures of the Little Koala, among others. So much appreciation for this time in life.
You can tell the singers enjoyed singing the theme song, So much Happiness and joyfulness in there voices, Makes you wanna cry and make peace with all your enemies!😁❤
This. This show was the best show on Nickelodeon, ever. It never failed to make me smile, and it always warmed my heart. In fact, I think I even cried tears of joy at some episodes. It's really a shame they can't make any thing like this beautiful show anymore. A REAL SHAME.
Latosha Bullock we never realize it, when we’re younger we wish we were old and when we’re older we wish we were young again, but we never wanna live in the moment. Kinda funny isn’t it?
I can't believe this song brought me to tears by reminding me of simpler times. My childhood wasn't terribly wonderful, but this show was a huge bright spot.
Whoa. I've stumbled into a major time warp and it's 1991, I'm in first grade, Nick Jr. is still legit, and MTV was definitely still playing music videos lol. This, and David the Gnome were my shows!!!
Currently 39 years old in summer of 2022. This was the first anime I EVER saw...many years before I even knew what "anime" was. I remember watching it on my grandma's TV back in the late 80s/early 90s, as at the time she was the only one in the family who had cable. Even when the sound on her TV broke and stopped working, I still watched it.
OMG, I'm 45 and I had this song in my head the other day and I could not remember what it was from! Thanks for letting me know it wasn't a dream. This song really does exist. ..for now. With the Mandela Effect, I'm not sure about anything anymore.
I didn't grow up in the 80s or anything but I vividly remember watching this show. We had a DVD set of the series and I would always watch it while going on long roadtrips in the back of my family's minivan. I'm so glad I was able to grow up with this wonderful show as well.
Call me crazy, but is there anyone that thinks this song might've sounded better had Men at Work performed it? They're an Australian band, and Koalas are marsupials, so it would've been a great fit.
I can't believe I've found this! I remember watching this on Nickalodeon whenever I stayed home from school as a little kid. Thank you so much for taking me back!
I vividly remember this show. 1991, I was 7. Coming home from the park, having some Party Chips Ahoy ("There's a party in every bite!") cookies and chocolate milk. I used to like the train episode. I also used to love Eureeka's Castle, Double Dare, Wild and Crazy Kids, Ren and Stimpy....oh God, where does the time go?
How nostalgic. I remember watching this show nearly every weekday afternoon on Nick Jr. at my babysitter's house after getting out of kindergarten each day back in the early 90's. It was also the the very first anime I ever saw and as a kid, I loved it! Of course, as I got older, I became more interested in anime programs intended more towards adults such as Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Good times!
On a little nostalgia trip right now. I'm 36 now and I can still remember loving this show in the very early 90s on Nick Jr. when I was in kindergarten.
Wow! Does this bring back all the feels. My kids thought I had gone loopy today when I started singing this out of the blue. Thanks for putting it up here so they could hear the "real" version.

When I saw this intro again(even just the thumbnail before hitting play) I knew instantly THIS was it. Things have been awful lately but seeing this just gave me the warmest feeling I’ve had in a very long time. I cannot wait to show this to my son (2yo) tomorrow.
35yo and I cant even begin to explain the excitement that I would experience when this show would unexpectedly come on on Nickelodeon when I was a kid! The show wasnt even great in terms of technical graphics or storyline but there was something profoundly warm and appealing about the show.
