The Leftovers ended last night after being canceled by HBO so obviously not a lot of people saw it. It's experimental, weird, tragic, emotional... lots of things. But mostly, it was just great.

the leftovers isn't cancelled. The writers just decided the show to end in its third season.

It wasn't cancelled it was only supposed to 3 seasons
It's good that they didn't stretch the show too much. It's a shame it wasn't so successful.

Known about the show since it aired but never got around to watching it. Just finished the pilot. Pretty intriguing, focusing on the people that DID NOT disappear.... if anyone cares, check out the shows The Handmaids Tale, all the seasons of Fargo, Devs, Mare of Easttown, and my two new favorites happened to be Australian shows, Mr Inbetween and Farrow. 👍🏼👍🏼

Any show that has no answer for its mysteries is doomed to fail and be forgotten. I just decided to watch the series and after the first episode I am already angry with the writers because there is no Ancor and I hate the damn Officer who seem to be the main character.
So a bunch of normal people go about their normal boring lives and have regular drama. Instead of answering us the more interesting and fantastic event that transpired? Oh wow. Interests me so much. Because drama among normal humans is so rare to find on TV or in life. Such wow, much creativity.
I think the first season of this show was AMAZING! and then second season really added complexity, but third season just went all over the place. Like where the heck did all the stuff from season 1 and 2 went? they just went with other weird concepts, and it felt so disjointed, one episode is with drunken naked people on a boat, the next a lot of crying on the desert, like wtf... Season 3 I thought was the worst, this show took so many liberties in it's infancy. It hadn't quite earned it's stripes... for a musical episode? nawh! you haven't earned that yet, you're amidst tough violent, turmoil and you do a musical episode? nawh, such a mood breaker. Anyway. I loved the wayt his show started, I was on board with the ideas in the second season, but the third season really let me down. so much randomness and barely any cohesiveness to the roots of the series. Shame it fell flat on it's face on the last season :( it had such star studded cast, and so much potential... no wonder Rate A characters started dropping off little by little.
Heavily agree on season one being great. I felt like season two was OK and three was saved by a good ending, but it was disjointed for sure. Some great episodes and some just boring. It's weird how the reviews I've seen on this show don't comment on the difference in quality between the seasons. Maybe I just need to keep looking.
Edit: okay, I watched till the end and I see this review talked about the different seasons.

TLDR: Lost 2.0, no answers just dragging the "mystery" for thankfully only 3 seasons.
I don't get the idiots that say this. Everything in Lost was explained at one point or another.
Is it just because I binged it? I just don't get it. It was a mystery. So it's going to need to retain its genre. And it did. But every single thing was answered.
