If you're getting an Uber in Kenya, select cash but most drivers assume that cash means MPesa. If you use paper money they look at you funny like you are a drug dealer or a clueless tourist. When you get to Kenya, just get a SIM card and convert your money to mobile money. You'll be fine pretty much everywhere.
I'm in Kenya now and I use Uber everyday, both cash and card. All you need an understanding. Every American I know have no problems. Just get an understanding

Ok, I'm an uber driver and the main reason why we call the riders first is not really that we need to confirm whether you're paying cash or credit card, first to confirm your exact location because sometimes uber picks the wrong location, second it's to confirm it was not an accidental request, third is to know your destination because uber here in kenya doesn't show us the drivers the rider's destination...Lastly now is to confirm if you are paying cash of which to me it doesn't matter. There really is no need to learn Kiswahili. Almost everybody speaks English. School is taught in English. Buisness is conducted in English

The name Nairobi means a place of cool waters. You don't need AC in Nairobi. The temperature is moderate for the most part, Average of 25°C for the most part of the year apart from winter (June- August goes below 20°C). It's also never humid. It's usually chilly at night and in the mornings. Very comfortable temperature

I'd just add one thing about Uber in Kenya. From my experience the easiest way is to use Uber cash, not physical cash. You add digital cash to your Uber wallet (from PayPal or credit card) and that's it. The payment is made directly to the driver as cash into his Uber account.

The use of vowels makes the language sexy, at least four Swahili, Swahili words are divided into parts with each part having at least a vowel or two,I could say the same for french or Spanish,at least that's hot most of the words sound,unlike languages like German where it's just consonants piling on top of the other which just makes it an earful to listen to.

I think that before they hear a local pronounce it then they tend to pronounce it like they read it, just in the same way we do with many other country names until we hear the right pronunciation. They basically read it in English when we pronounce it in Swahili…

For exemple it would have been crazy to travel to Paris during the "Yellow Jacket" movement. The level of chaos and violence was unreal!
