- On the 15th April, Joe Joyce will be defending his WBO interim world title against Zhilei Zhang, a hard hitting heavyweight southpaw. The Juggernaut is making his first appearance since being the first man to knockout Joseph Parker in a 10 round war. Zhang is looking to resume his path towards title contention since his controversial loss against Filip Hrgovic back in August.

Joyce is very similar to 90s Foreman. Can see him boxing into his early 40s and winning world titles.

Never seen Zhang and know nothing about him. I've only seen Joyce 2 times. To be honest he has to be one of the slowest punchers I've ever seen. Looks like he's punching under water. I guess if you stand still and let him hit you something might happen.
I don't believe that Zhilei Zhang needs to redeem himself. If he loses to Joe Joyce it will be no shame. I scored his loss against Hrgovic 114-113 in his favour at worst. This is a great fight that I am excited to see... (Sometimes fighters prove more in defeat than they do in victory)
@Jakov Jerkovic I disagree with your scoring of the fight but I think we both agree that Hrgovic, Zhang and Joyce are right up there in the conversation for who will be dominant at Heavyweight when Usyk, Fury and Joshua retire. I also happen to have been in boxing for a long time, January 1978, so I respect your opinion. I would also emphasise that Hrgovic went into the fight with both the death of his father and having arrived in Saudi Arabia shortly (48 hours at most, if my memory is right) as reasons for what I considered an underperformance. I haven't heard him cite those difficulties which I respect highly. He has been avoided and probably will continue to be. But I am foaming at the mouth at the prospect of seeing the three-way rivalry like I saw in the 80s and 90s between Leonard, Hearns and Duran...

Joyce isn't slow he's relentless. His fundamentals are quality. Unstoppable.

Just seen this. Actually looking forward to this. This is what the heavyweight division needs, and a fighter in Joe Joyce who isn't afraid to take on all comers. Unlike some other boxers we know.

And don't forget, he's a 12 round fighter! Joyce vs Usyk would be an incredible follow up fight. Fury won't fight him... That said... really... Joyce stepping in the ring against pretty much anyone, and I'd still watch it. He's very entertaining and he just dominates them until they're crushed!

THIS is the fight I want to see. Juggernaut is just about the one time a nickname perfectly describes the fighter. He just rolls a massive unstoppable inertia over everything in his path. Almost superhuman, he doesn't seem to get hurt or tired. Zhang massively impresseed me against the extremely good Hrgovic. He was legit putting together really strong fast combinations, he took big shots and gave them back right away, actually that was a shockingly high-output fight from both. This is a damn fun matchup!

Joyce only seems good against cans, I doubt he could even beat Wilder, sure his chin is tough but it's by no means invincible as Zhang showed, wobbled him like he didn't have a chin, but then powerful punchers like Wilder, Zhang and even Ruiz would eventually knock out this punch bag statue.

It'll be interesting, I'm not a betting man but I'd say Zhang needs to take out Joe in the early rounds otherwise Joe will outwork Zhang who tends to fade towards the end of a contest - however, I expect this to happen sooner than normal since Joyce likes to press the pace. Regardless, it's not going the distance, Joyce to win by stoppage in the 9th.

I just love Joyce. He is confident for sure but doesnt take the stupid trash talk seriously. He is genuenly a humble guy (something often said about Usyk but Im not so sure) but in the ring he is strictly business. And he was humble in defeat in every amateur loss he had.

A lot of comments about Joe being superhuman almost and eating shots like they're nothing. It's all true. His bone density is twice that of an average human being not to mention his ridiculous engine that makes him a scary scary man. Proper top lad as well. Love Joe and hope he gets to the top, hopefully whilst taking a few less haymaker too. The lads eyes are scarred up from the damage he's taken. I'd hate to see him slurring in his later years or worse.

I think this fight is risky especially when you’re in a mandatory position not a very good match up at this stage of his career but he is probably favourite and deserves lots of credit for taking this sort of fight

Personally I rate Wilder as number two after Fury, but the Juggernaut is really impressive. I would have bet that it would be impossible for a guy of his size to do a somersault but he did it on the ring after a fight!!! He hates all the bombs that Dubois send it to him without blinking his eyes!! WoW! I said to my son during this fight that He would have hate even a baseball bat hit like nothing!! So his defense is his big problem if you compare to Fury and it’s why I think that Usik would be able to win a fight against him as he did with Joshua. Usik is playing a game instead of really fight as he touches you more than you can touch him to win.

I like way Joe fight, but in the heavyweight division you won't survive long with walking into shots and taking shots on the chin, Joe need's to learn to evade more than he takes. Then he could be WBC champion
