    Here is the simple, foolproof, quick way to dial in your settings. Turn off the atomizing air to the gun. Press the trigger. Increase pressure to the remote pot so that the liquid stream shooting out of the gun (unatomized) will arc at about 30" - 36". Then, slowing add atomizing air until you get a proper fan that seems nicely atomized. Done.

    If you have to climb a ladder to shoot. Bring the pressured pot up with you. In that way you do not fight gravity from paint in extension hose from pressured pot.

    Wonder if regular air compresser tank will work?

    I was hoping that one of these videos would tell me how to connect the compressor to the pressure pot for painting. It looks like the spray gun has 2 inputs, 1 for the air and 1 for the paint. I only have one line coming off of the compressor, so do I get a splitter and split the pressure between the two or do I have to get a second compressor to feed the pressure pot while the first one feeds the gun?
    I asked the store where I purchased the pot and they are somewhat less than responsive!

      You need a gun that takes an air and fluid line, designed for a peessure pot.

    if i hook up a 2and a half gal pot to my hvlp system,how can i set pressure on the pot at 15 lbs,when the turbine is only 9 psi?? or does that matter so my turbine is nine psi but i want 15 psi at pot

    • @grubbetuchus
      @grubbetuchus 6 лет назад

      You will need a small compressor to deliver 15 psi to your remote pot. There are turbines that have tiny airbrush-type compressors built into them (along with the actual turbine itself), but these tiny compressors will not deliver 15 psi. By the way, 15 psi is a lot. If you are spraying material that is that thick, it's unlikely that any turbine system has enough power (CFM) to properly atomize a coating that thick.

    does the pressure tank need an air compressor to work?

    • @1Batt
      @1Batt 7 лет назад

      Yes you will need compressed air to pressurize these kinds of tanks..

    • @inkdreaper874
      @inkdreaper874 5 лет назад

      @@1Batt can you pressurize the pot, disconnect the compressor and spray? Or has to always have the compressor connected?

    • @1Batt
      @1Batt 5 лет назад +1

      You would lose pressure...this kind of pot loses pressure once you disconnect the coupler...

    Ask the experts at Sherwin??
    Next time your rep is sharing his expertise on ANY product or piece of equipment, invite them into the field to show it to you using best practices. Unfortunately
    their expertise starts and stops with the fine tuned skill of regurgitating what they’ve been told at the innumerable trainings and conventions. Which btw, are incredibly well thought out. Right down to the VERY INTENTIONAL omission of any hands on product training or competitor side by side comparison. But after they’ve told several hundred times the start to really believe it..... kinda brilliant in a way, but very misleading for anyone looking for actual information.

    i hope whoever sprays the same material you used, will use the same airflow masking system you wore. You barely sprayed any material but you had on a hazmat suit for virus contaminations. Are your products that dangerous that painters should use more caution?
