  • Kyrgyzstan is dedicated to enhancing its trade facilitation measures and advancing its paperless trade agenda to streamline cross-border transactions and foster economic integration within Central Asia. As part of its commitment to modernizing and digitalizing trade processes, Kyrgyzstan has been actively involved in various initiatives to reduce trade barriers and improve trade procedures' efficiency. Moreover, in 2023, Kyrgyzstan joined the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific (CPTA). To support Kyrgyzstan in these endeavours, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) has conducted a feasibility study focusing on pilot project for the electronic exchange of certificates of origin between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility and impact of such electronic exchanges, provide insights into potential challenges, and recommend strategies for effective implementation.
