Brilliant camera work! The low angle shots are amazing. You REALLY have captured the enormity and monumental heft of these behemoths. It’s interesting the choices you’ve made, where you left the surfer to focus on the waves. I really appreciate those decisions.

Was ich mich frage (und damit natürlich auch dich): wie handhabt ihr es, wenn ihr mit mehreren Drohnenpiloten unterwegs seid? Gibt es da die Gefahr der Kollision? Gibt es an guten Tagen auch so eine Art Lineup wie bei den Surfern?

Such Smooth flying and great footage. Is it difficult to fly a sub 250g drone in these conditions? Or is it better to use a bigger drone and what kind of certification is needed to fly in Portugal.
Thank you! I would say it‘s possible to an extend to use a sub 250g drone for this. I personally prefer something bigger and more powerful in regards of flight stability in wind, splashing water and maximum speed of the drone (the more the better in order to get out of tricky situations quickly). Another point is avoiding to have any usb-plugs uncovered. BUT it works with a sub 250g.
Regarding licenses it‘s the same as in other European countries. To start, the A1/A3 license + insurance get you going but I would highly recommend A2 in terms of learning important safety aspects (and you will be able to fly in more circumstances and closer to objects).
Flying in Nazaré (anything north of the town) is forbidden because it‘s a military zone. In this case to film the waves - if you intend to - you would need to sign up with your national aviation authority, then request clearance by the AAN (aviation authority to give you airspace clearance to fly and record images) and Capitania (Captaincy, to get you clearance to fly above the beach and sea).
Oh, in regards of sub 250g you might not need any A1/A3 license but I‘m not 100% sure about that. Better to google this

No, that will be the day otherwise you're hearing an annoying buzzing sound the entire time. They picked a nice neutral ocean sound

Like riding giant avalanches that go nowhere. Its annoying when surf breaks like this. Its fun taking off on these type of shaped waves but then it just turns into nothing halfway down the face. It looks so good peaking up, then just turns into a shoulder slop. Obviously needs to be bigger or low tide. Every wave seems to be a letdown.

That's 90%+ of this wave, its an overhyped, compare mullagmore on the same swell for a real wave.

I assume as a layperson that this motorized things have a key role for the safety of the surfers.
These waves at Nazare display a huge power. It is important to escape them. A mistake / weakness can happen and may NOT lead to a spinal injury .
