- I prank call a very angry Indian 7-Eleven that regularly screams at its customers. I work at best buy, and I've had customers like blatantly trying to return something out of our return policy. I had a dude who wanted to return a laptop like 9 months out of our return policy (its 2 weeks normally) and he just wanted to return it, and obviously I had to tell him I couldn't return it. He then complained saying he doesn't understand how Best buy is in business if they don't "stand behind their product"
1. He bought a lenovo laptop
2. best buy doesn't make laptops
3. you can buy a warranty from best buy (which he didn't)
4. he was essentially complaining "we sold it to him so therefore we should take care of it" its not our fault he wasn't satisfied with a product WE DIDNT MAKE. He still had it under warranty with lenovo but he didn't want to inconvenience himself.
Also....there wasn't even anything wrong with the laptop...he at first tried to return it saying he just didn't like it. Then when I told him we couldn't he said it was defective and gave vague descriptions like "It doesn't do what its supposed to".

Ok so I work at a gas station... Lets start there. That video didnt show how it started or anything just a final moment which is extremely deceptive. But here is my thing..... We deal with dozens of shitty attitudes on a daily and by dozens I mean dozen by the dozens. PPL snap on us for anything and everything thing we have no control over like prices listed on an item even tho... We dont even control that, the vendors that come to the store do it. Us asking them for ID even when explained that our GM told us do it be potentially fired. One daily customer that we all talked to all the time ( so one of my co-workers told him personal info about himself) even used my co-workers diseased mother against him simply because he as to see his ID during the 4th of July which we were required to do as told by our GM. Now just be what I'm hoping is yourself that you come into gas stations all the time and you get your cigs or beer or gas and you smile so hello literally have a pretty much repour with these people but imagine knowing that they have probably just at this job alone have been cursed out about 10 dozen times. I know the video is done in comedy but this guy and the 15K people that liked it clearly has never EVER had to be on our end as the person that takes abuse from people all day long on a daily
Ok so I too know both sides. Not as strictly a cashier but mainly as a manager. I've dealt with homeless and being told to just let them take fountain drinks as much as they want by the police. I've dealt with customers pre paying a pump with a card and it be out of order (and clearly marked) but complain about it charging 100 and that they can't get gas now. I saw a revolving door of crying adults and summer job teens quitting mid shift by trying to make some money. It's a tough gig. If you choose to work there, no matter what you're told it's like or what you'll deal with. it'll be 20x worse both situationally and emotionally. The people who I see make it are the ones who can handle problems effectively (states to understand and offers the solution/s or explanation, and deescalates by not recording and keeping a more level attitude than the customer) , precisely (fact finding the real issue that they feel is in your control, explaining what they can do to report the problem, and coming back when a resolution is met by someone who they believe is in control tells them the only way to resolve it. it puts the ball in their court), they'll minimize risk of confrontation right at the door (if something you've noticed has been changed like food or snacks or tobacco , you announce it at the door for people so that they don't invest more time into finding out it's changed), and last but absolutely the most important thing, that anyone who makes a career moving up through a gas station company, portrays is having a back bone. dealing with that stuff every day and staying because you have thicker skin than them while also handling a situation calmly, quickly, and effectively will easily let you excel through the ranks. @VizZzion you did say you wanted to start there (that you work at a gas station) so let me help you complete the part you didn't cover and finish it with "and we'll end here". If you think that you are incapable of putting up with all the scenarios and situations you weren't successful in deescalating (that you've defended the aforementioned videos above in also not being able to do) and making sure they understood the resolution options while also leaving, clocking out, and needing to defend the workers at another station (that're on tiktok and, as well as you, clearly can't do their job effectively either) then you're just in the wrong business. People at ANY job - who don't know what to do with a problem, hide or avoid a problem, and then also say to themselves "i'll let someone else handle this, i wasn't hired to do this shit" " i didn't cause it, this ain't my baby" are cowards who really aren't fit for the job that's been put in front of them. if you can't handle and issue and wear it on your shoulder to defend some employees snapping off at customers from another location, then just leave. you can't handle your problems so you tell us you understand what theirs may be, then you projecting what you can't handle into a "good deed" by trying to defend them. Successful Managers, ceos, owners, lawyers, mothers, fathers, AND SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYEES GETTING READY FOR THE FUTURE BAG, etc.. they all handle other peoples issues head on. Dead beats just trying to do as little work and nothing more won't get passed any further than the ceiling they think they're stuck at. remove the ceiling and do more and you'll eventually be placed in the level above yours. much love to anyone reading this. if it relates, then wake up tomorrow and focus on the next 5 months not the next bill.

first a little back ground, i have torn/destroyed all ligements, cartlidge and tendons in both knees, they put three screws in each knee, that was in the mid 80s my late 80's they have backed out and since it has been screws on bones, but being young and no money i worked... construction in refineries all my life till i was 50, i was diagnosed with copd, i know it does not sound bad but i have end stage copd, which means there is NO cure, NO treatents that are really helpful, NO possibility of going into remission i was given 7-12 years to live. now with this breathing problem and not being able to afford to go to the doctors, i have very limited oxygen to the brain and sometimes i get worse than joe biden, and one day i was in a gas station near where i live, and due to masks being mandatory i was having a hard time breathing and was basically standing there blank, and the woman starts bad mouthing me, when i react i said sorry i cant breath and have a medical problem and i am disabled. she starts screaming oh now you can talk and other such things then started to cuss me i said "i just want to buy some lotto please dont cuss me" she started to scream louder and said get out or ill call the cops, i said i just want some lotto, so she calls the cops, well cops were nearby and there under a minute before i could leave, and i got a no trespassing ticket and was told i should have never have said a word to her..... and i am not the first person she has done this to so now i have to drive an extra few miles to the next convience store because the one that is less than a block and half away from me did this....
