Makes a grown man weep. So powerful in its own way
He's the Conductor! Most important position of an Orchestra. He's keeping the tempo and signals sections to be louder or softer. It's very difficult to become a conductor. Years of work and dedication. This is a simplified explanation of what they do.
I don't have a clue what he is singing about but i absolutely loved it. It reaches my heart and soul and brought tears to my eyes.
Look for the translation and the story of the opera - you will love it that much more.
None shall sleep,
None shall sleep!
Even you, oh Princess,
In your cold room,
Watch the stars,
That tremble with love
And with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
My name no one shall know,
No... no...
On your mouth, I will tell it,
When the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win!
I will win!
I will win!
I agree...he could be singing about my weekly shopping list... BUT I cry every time I listen ot this ...... the power of his voice is unearthly ! Never ever will this rendition be surpassed by anyone !
Music transcends language! ❤️
That's what true music should do, it doesnt matter if speak the language ❤
This song breaks everyone...in a beautiful way. God bless, my dude
we all have to listen to this over and over in our lives-It sounds like God calling
Opera makes me cry, especially Pavarotti singing this...every single time!! It reaches down to your soul no matter what your choice of music is!🎶🎵
Ok Sceez, you could watch the video on repeat for an hour and I would have continued to watch. This song is one of my all time favourites... goosebumps and tears ... every darn time lol. Hugs from Oz
A lot of opera greats over the years, but you could pick his voice out of a lineup in a second. So iconic. I love watching videos of him and his father singing together at mass when they were both still alive.
A former co worker filled me in on memories of his grandfather and one of them was Pavarotti on the record player and how lost in it his g'pa would get. 4-5 guys who normally listen to pantera, megadeth, slayer.. e.c.t. in absolute silent reverence for the music and the memory. Our foreman, the shop owner, production manager all in shock at what was coming from my radio and could be heard up in the offices in a loud ass fiberglass shop. Pure beauty...
Spectacular performance!!! And great reaction!!! He actually is standing. The conductor is just standing higher. That's the conductor waving the stick. 🎶🎼🎵🎸🥁🎧🎹🎤🎙💜💜💜
I agree - it's unreal....the power , the purity, the perfection of that voice is beyond words. Every time I see this, I watch in amazement Mad skills.
The thing about opera is that even though it is in a foreign language (Italian, German, etc...) as Americans, it is not usually in a language that we understand. The beauty is, that the music, the song/singing, acting, doesn't need to be in English. The emotion translates itself. To me personally, it speaks to my soul. Pavarotti was AMAZING. There are other amazing opera singers. There are AMAZING operas. I truly hope that one day you are able to go see live a classical opera. Best wishes!
This guy GETS IT. I had this state wash over me for the first time when I was 11 - I'm almost 80 now and it still happens with every beautiful voice and piece of music I've ever heard. As the bloke (doro9) below says "God bless you, dude"
Thank you for your lovely reaction. Had to play it twice? Well, why not? The Master of his art, wasn't he?
5:50 you just heard the finale and now you like hold up hold up I got to go back I got to go back. I cannot tell you man I've seen is maybe 20 times at this point and does it so powerfully, it's almost like a takes him a few seconds to even realize what he just did. It's like he was possessed for a minute and then he comes back to being his actual regular human self and realizes that he fucking nailed it and the audience is going nuts and oh my God that gives me goosebumps every freaking time. And I love the fact that you are able to catch all that and feel it. It speaks volumes about your ability to resonate with music for sure.
LOVE this comment mate, you're so right, this was anything but a day at the office, this was a very, very special moment, with Pavarotti at the height of his power. We are so lucky to have it recorded forever
He’s like a football or baseball coach. Keeps everyone in sync. Absolutely essential.
Opera is one of those things you either feel it in your soul or you don’t. I loved your reaction because obviously you completely felt this in your soul.
The conductor keeps the whole piece in alignment with each other he knows every piece of every instrument in that the conductor is an incredible part of any symphony orchestra
It's the combination of his voice and this gorgeously written aria by Puccini. The music is stunning, and with his voice it's like a wave that carries you.
one of the best renditions to the Maestro ty so much
I love your genuine reaction to Pavarotti. "Wait, I gotta hear this again, was that really.."
Same reaction I had 1st time I heard him back in the 80s.
Absolutely the best - RIP Pavarotti
You are witnessing GOD mode Greatness on a Different Level! If you listen thus and don’t get chills you need to go to the ER because you have no puls. The guy up front is the conductor his job is to make sure the orchestra makes Pavarotti look like the legend he is. You need to go do some from the Three Tenors it is amazing how you don’t even need to know Italian to understand the emotion in the voice. Rip Great One!
The bulk of a conductor's work is not during the concert but rather at rehearsals. At the concert now all the musicians already know enough by heart what they have to do. The conductor is however necessary to give the attacks, to give security and to suggest, through the movements, the intention of the execution which, even if imperceptibly, is different at each performance. There are standard gestures to mark tempo and dynamics and attacks, and then there are personal gestures typical of each conductor to convey emotion to the musicians. As a musician you may fear that you have gone out of time, so you look up from the score and look at the conductor and you always have the reference to know if you are right. Also keep in mind that in classical and opera tempo is almost never constant, you don't do classical with a drum machine to be clear, it's a variable parameter to play with to arouse the desired emotions.
He once said that reaching the high C is better than a night of love😂. Fantastic voice
Regardless if you are familiar with, a fan (or not) of Opera as a genre, you can still appreciate the natural talent & dedication of this legendary tenor to become one of the best this modern world has ever seen. This was recorded back in 1994 when Luciano was 59 years old. How many modern day pop stars half his age can belt out notes like he did? Sadly, very few these days. This was back before auto tune & done in front of a live audience consisting of over 75,000 people. This is just an aria (solo part) of the opera "Turandot" by Giacomo Puccini, written in 1924 & first performed in 1926. The world lost a tremendous talent when Luciano passed away in 2007. I'm glad that my 2nd favorite tenor, Andrea Bocelli, is still alive & singing his heart out...
When I was a kid I didn't like opera much because to my immature & unsophisticated ears, it all just seemed like a bunch of yelling done in singsong form & I couldn't understand the words. It wasn't until I was in my late teens/early 20's when I began to fully appreciate what it took to become a trained classical (aka opera) singer. You don't have to understand the lyrics in order to feel the raw passion behind each performance. Great music & incredible natural talent transcends all languages & ages.
Luciano was once quoted saying that his vocal cords were kissed by God. Yeah, no truer words were ever spoken. His whole body is a cathedral of angelic sounds. ❤
I saw another comment which is so spot on "Hearing your first opera with Luciano singing is like taking your very first car ride in a Rolls Royce"
As the final act opens, it is now night. Calaf is alone in the moonlit palace gardens. In the distance, he hears Turandot's heralds proclaiming her command. His aria begins with an echo of their cry and a reflection on Princess Turandot:
"Nessun dorma"
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma!
Tu pure, o Principessa,
nella tua fredda stanza,
guardi le stelle
che tremano d'amore, e di speranza!
None shall sleep! None shall sleep!
Not even you, oh Princess,
in your cold bedroom,
watching the stars
that tremble with love, and with hope!
Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me;
il nome mio nessun saprà!
No, No! Sulla tua bocca,
lo dirò quando la luce splenderà!
But my secret is hidden within me;
no one will know my name!
No, no! On your mouth,
I will say it when the light shines!
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà
il silenzio che ti fa mia!
And my kiss will dissolve
the silence that makes you mine!
Just before the climactic end of the aria, a chorus of women is heard singing in the distance:
Il nome suo nessun saprà,
E noi dovrem, ahimè, morir, morir!
No one will know his name,
and we will have to, alas, die, die!
Calaf, now certain of victory, sings:
Dilegua, o notte!
Tramontate, stelle!
Tramontate, stelle!
All'alba, vincerò!
Vincerò! Vincerò!
Vanish, o night!
Fade, you stars!
Fade, you stars!
At dawn, I will win!
I will win! I will win!
Just before the extra climactic end of the aria, a chorus of women is heard singing in the distance again:
O sole! Vita! Eternità!
Luce del mondo è amore!
Or sun! Life! Eternity!
Light of the world is love!
Calaf, now certain of glory, sings:
Ride e canta nel sole
L'infinita nostra felicità!
Gloria a te! Gloria a te!
Laugh and sing in the sun
Our infinite happiness!
Glory to you! Glory to you!
None shall sleep! None shall sleep!
The composer directs the orchestra and the singer. It's the composer's responsibility to put it all together.
Opera is one of the most difficult genres of music to sing. If anybody can sing Opera, they really know how to sing, and sing properly without damaging their vocal cords. There is no use of gimmicks, technical voice enhancements nor lip syncing during live performances and studio recordings. That's why it's imperative to train with a vocal coach, to prevent from damaging your vocal cords when you're singing professionally.
I was so blessed to see him in person , and one of the. arias he sang was Nessun Dorma, Puccini Turandot. It was absolutely beautiful and soul 💓😘 touching. He is singing in God's Theater up in heaven, and all those souls 🙏🤲 including the many of my family are appreciating listening to it's God's given gift.
You have just heard the GREATIST and the greatist that that will ever be. Congratulate yourself!
You should listen to Pavarotti singing Ave Maria. Heaven
Pavarotti italian Legend 🇮🇹
loved your reaction; it was so genuine! this one always gives me chills, love it
He was 68 years old when he sang this for The Three Tenors! So he sat down because he deserved to!
I always think there is hope for humanity when I listen to this..That humans can imagine it, write it, produce and sing something so beautiful it...we are all capable of great things
Pavarotti is the GREATEST VOICE OF OUR TIME.
He was a true treasure, I was so sad when I heard he had died.
Sovrumano, di una bravura che rapisce, la voce di una melodia che commuove, lo ascolto, lo riascolto e mi ruba sempre il cuore ❤
Its the conductor of the symphony who gets all the various instruments and singers to be in harmony.
You are solid, young man. Your reaction was perfect! It doesn't get better than Pavarotti. I've watched this performance a thousand times and I still tear up every time. Thanks.

Excellent reaction!
So much emotion!!!
The composer writes the music.
The conductor keeps all the musicians and singers together. It's like herding cats! Difficult, but very important.
dont care what they say, but appreciating this masterpiece speaks loads about emotional intelligence, and not only. The fact you wanted to rewind also tells a lot
He touches the higher centers of one’s being with his voice. Brings tears to your eyes. Phenomenal!
Can't underrstand a word he says except familia.. family... but he gives me chills ... the voice is phenomonal. (
... no word "familia": kalbatross posted the text & traslation. 😉
"Luci chill".... Had me Rollin.... Great reaction dude!
☮️💙💙💙😎thank you love him
The conductor is standing on a riser so the members of the orchestra can see him. Luciano is standing beside him, not sitting.
He is called the Conductor,…. He sets the pace of the music….I love your beautiful reaction my young brother,,,, and you playing it again makes my heart so happy. Check ou Deana Damru signing the Queen of the Night aria by Mozart…. Everyone cries hearing this piece of music…. No shame at all
Here are the lyrics in English:
None shall sleep,
None shall sleep!
Even you, oh Princess,
In your cold room,
Watch the stars,
That tremble with love
And with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
My name no one shall know,

Miss you...great master❤️🇮🇹
You should listen to Jonathan Antoine, the best tenor alive now, singing this in his living room. He makes it look effortless and his voice is perfection.
Please don’t pause and comment in the middle of him singing Just enjoy the greatest opera singer of all time thank you for your appreciation and reaction
Your musicality is a joy to behold, Sceez.
Please react to Pavarotti and James Brown singing together! Spectacular 😊
Luciano Pavarotti and James Brown sang It’s a Man’s World, which was a James Brown song.
What you feel now is your soul!
Remember also that Freddie Mercury sang a duet with Pavarotti - shows you how crazy his range was!
Freddie sang with the incomparable Operatic Soprano Montserrat Caballé…
As far as I know, he never sang with Pavarotti ( in fact, Pavarotti was angry that Caballé did it at all )
But after Pavarotti saw and heard the immense success of the Mercury/Caballé collaboration … SUDDENLY he was collaborating with non-opera singers too.
The Queen member that Pavarotti DID sing with was *Brian May* , for a rendition of “Too Much Love Will Kill You” in 2003 at the Pavarotti and Friends Annual Benefit Concert.
The conductor is the interpreter of the composer, using singers, choir, orchestra.
THE STICK The man standing in front is the Conductor and he's directing the entire thing waving a "baton" the 'stick" like thing, and baby he's like the conductor on train. It ain't goin' nowhere unless he says so. The conductor is in charge of everything and the musicians and singers are watching him like a hawk.. His eyes, his face,, his hands are telling you a hundred details and you're playing your instrument, and singing exactly like he's telling you from his movemens. He can actually hear every note from each instrument and voice and in rehearsal he'll stop abruptly or tap the baton on the lecturn First violin ! That is a pianissimo ! Pick it up ! Cellos this isn't a brass band ! light..light lifting the baton vertically. OK begin again from...They make the big bucks, there are few of them and they are the Kings, best of the best in the music world and have earned it through years of study and work. They are there to interpret the exact meaning of say, Beethoven's composition he's "conducting" every meaning in each phrase of music and telling each musicians exactly how to play and sing each note so all together it sounds exactly like he wants it to.
The Conductor directs the orchestra (keeps things moving along and in order).
This isn't Pavarotti's best rendition of Nessun Dorma. In this earlier performance referenced in the video below, Pavarotti holds the final notes much longer (he was younger). Check it out. The video is called "The best Nessun Dorma..." Channel: Giro Lamo
You should check out The Danish Symphony Orchestra doing ,"The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"....it's mind-blowing...
The conductor is on a podium, thus standing taller.
Pavarotti is standing up. It only looks like he's sitting because the conductor is standing on a rostrum.
Love Pavarotti… since u are a David Phelps fan - take a listen to him belt this sing! 😮😮
If you have ever been longing for a lost love ...this is what your Heart feels
The gentleman with the wand is the conductor
The last three lines tells you everything.
I'll win at dawn
All'alba vincerò
I will win
Vincerò
I will win
Vincerò
He's the Conductor
A great reaction 👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾🎶🎵💗💗
He is standing.
6:15 Well, since you are seriously rewinding,. I believe I read another comment that said man look at the translation. But yeah it's actually an amazing story, but it's an Italian like a lot of Opera then you would need to look it up. But at any rate just know that as it goes into that finale, it's essentially a victory song for this guy. And once again it's an amazing story but this is his moment of Triumph and yet it hasn't completed yet, he is waiting for his moment of Triumph to occur in the morning which is coming up, it's like when he sings that amazing finale it's close to Sunrise and he know he's going to win he's going to win this battle. He's going to win and no it's not in a military context but with a woman.
And I won't give anything more away than that, but when he hits that final stretch, it's almost like the sun is coming up and he suddenly knows that he is going to be victorious. He is going to win the contest. It is an absolute tour-de-force. And he represents it perfectly. I'm so glad not only that you got into this, but that you are so in tune with it.
Of course he is stood up.
He is standing up
Nessun Dorma = Nobody Sleeps, the last aria from Puccini's opera Turnadot....and NAILS the ending refrain....Al Alba Vincero, Vincero, VINCEROOOO!!!!!!
🙌🙌🙌🙌🌷🌷RESPECT Peace🤙☝️😌
Check out Vesti La Giubba another great performance by Pavarotti
Watch him with James Brown singing “It’s a Man’s World”.
Keiner übertrifft Pavarotti! RIP

Aretha Franklin filled in for him at the Grammys one year ....She actually sang this song...Please react
4:05 I have to wonder where you get all your knowledge from, that's pretty amazing. You just made the comment that he was sitting down and not even standing up and doing all this, and, that is right on man. You really need that physical support for the kind of thing he's doing and standing would definitely give more support. I've seen this a few times, but I can't remember if he does stand up to deliver that tour de force at the end or not but either way man. Right on man how do you know all this shit?
He is standing throughout the aria. He is on a lower stage level than the conductor. Watch how he leans over the music stand during one section, showing absolute perfection in breath control to lightly sing that last note, an "a" sound. You can see in his eyes after he hits that ending high C that he knows he's given the performance of a lifetime. "I will win!"
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
next one for you to do is 'time to say goodbye' by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman ruclips.net/video/qjzJYa7tHLs/видео.html . you'll love it
World class!!
Check out Guitarist Jeff Beck’s rendition of this masterpiece
100 years from now, who will (most) people remember? Luciano Pavarotti? Or, Kanye West?
Be honest.
The only issue i have with Nessun Dorma is its too short
No he is definitely not sitting down. Air flow’s free in and out of the lungs when standing with back straight. Sitting you can be cramped up. With the notes he’s hitting and the lung power it takes he needs to be standing.
Imagine the notes he sings in the shower.
ruclips.net/video/9zjrgbCaC1U/видео.html
Greatest tenor ever, but you would never guess it when you hear him just talking, being humble, funny, and soft-spoken.
First time I've seen someone react to this that rewinded it several times just to appreciate it more.
For your next Opera/Luciano Pavarotti reaction, I *_highly_* recommend Vesti La Giubba - ruclips.net/video/Z0PMq4XGtZ4/видео.html
Nessum Dorma means not to sleep tonight. The princess wants to find the suitor trying to win her love so that she might kill him.
it's the reaction from the song we want to see omg why on earth do you act up when you start recording. The man himself has a beautiful voice, sings like an angel
🤔 Interested in music and doesn't know difference between COMPOSER and CONDUCTOR!? A small hint, the composer in this case passed away about 99 years ago. 💥💥💥
0:25 I I caught your reaction on that man, it was Pavarotti with James Brown doing the James Brown song it's a man's world. And you should know that Pavarotti had a high regard for James Brown. Just as he did for Elvis Presley. Regarding James Brown, he said that James Brown could probably do it he did if he had enough training but that no matter how much training, he could never do what James Brown did. For being a force of Nature and a man's man and just a triumphant figure like that? He was also a humble motherfuker if you know what I mean.
And then regarding Elvis Presley, he wants said that if Elvis it had any formal vocal training growing up he may well have been the greatest opera singer of the twentieth century, and since he is widely regarded as one of the greatest opera singers of the twentieth century, to say that about somebody like Elvis Presley? Once again a humble motherfuker.
hey my channel try vesti la giubba , this lyne domain , luciano - god
With out the conductor no one would know when to come in, it would be a sloppy mess with out the conductor. They practice over and over to be on the same bit at the same moment. The conductor knows ever little thing about the music and what everyone is suppose to do and he makes sure they are all doing it.
