    I couldn't even fathom the sheer pain of not knowing where your loved one is. It's like having a wound that never heals. Truly heartbreaking. May peace find it's way into the families hearts.

      It's the biggest issue I find with these cases - the not knowing as years pass.

      Indeed, Jordan. When you get to my age, it is easy to forget that some many who take an interest in these cold cases were not yet born and have no memories of the time itself. The passing of time in any case can create its own challenges particularly when it comes to public awareness and appeals.

    I remember when all that was happing, i was 20yrs old. Living in Tallaght Co.Dublin. And i remember the last bus wouldnt take me home as i hadnt got enough busfare, i said it to the busman about all the missing women and he still kicked me off. I had to walk home from Balllyfermot to Tallaght. Up some lonely roads on my own. Right in the triangle . 🙌🏻💚🇮🇪

      That doesn't surprise me. In the days pre covid in Oregon, no fare, no ride. It was up to the individual driver. I have dug change out of my purse to make sure someone short of fare could ride. The same has been done for me. Now, the drivers don't want to get beat or shot. They let any jerk ride...

    I saw documentary last night titled called the Vanishing Six, the doc examines the missing six women in Ireland, according the doc, three may be linked to a serial killer.

    • @RadioEspial
      @RadioEspial  7 месяцев назад +4

      The problem I had with the documentary is that three of the cases all have well-established prime suspects, all unrelated cases to each other.

    Some thing was defo going on around 93 lots went missing in that year a couple a months apart got to have been one person. Can anybody remember those two lassie's who went horses riding and one turned up dead and the other has never been found...

    • @RadioEspial
      @RadioEspial  Год назад +4

      I think you are referring to the Priscilla Clarke case. She was 25 years old when she went missing in May 1988 while out horse riding with her employer. Her employer and companion that day, 39-year-old Lynda Kavanagh, her body was recovered two days later from the River Dargle.
      The horses were discovered in the vicinity, damp and lost. Priscilla's body was never discovered. Two people were seen riding horses onto Charleville Estate on the day that Priscilla vanished.[8] One was recognised as Kavanagh; the other person was not identified. However, Lynda called her husband to let him know she and Priscilla were going riding. At the time, it was believed that the women encountered difficulties while riding through the swollen river. However, Priscilla's family believe that foul play should have been further considered.

    I'm sorry serial killers are hard to capture

    • @RadioEspial
      @RadioEspial  Год назад +3

      No need to be sorry. I would think a serial killer is hard to track by definition. Unfortunately, docus like this RTE one and the many books on the so-called 'Vanishing Triangle' have been created by the media itself... not the original investigative teams, nor the more recent cold case team that has re-investigated them. The 2014-2019 (thereabouts) investigated six core cases, and examined a further 15 cases with possible connections. Crerar and Murphy were pinned for some of those cases. Turns out they likely had nothing to do with them. But the public following these cases can also sometimes be a hat looking for a hatstand and hook. And the media love that.
      While three cases could possibly be connected, the vast majority didn't so much expose a rampant serial killer - rather atrociously poor early An Garda Síochána investigation at the initial time. There are currently four or more cases (within the so-called vanishing triangle) another four outside of this - awaiting word from a judge to sign an arrest warrant and a file to go to the DPP. That doesn't happen likely. No one wants to see a repeat of the Sandra Collins case. It makes any subsequent trial so much harder. And the families of Tina Satchwell, Philip Cairns and Annie McCarrick deserve better than that - just to placate a public need to see someone convicted.

      Apologies, Elize. The vagaries of RUclips and copyright issues with the original docu producers. Some incidental music was used but clearly carried a copyright and I have to respect that.
      The lady speaking with the diary is Nancy McCarrick (mother).
      Here is what she says in text.
      As far as justice or retribution…
      I have no interest in it at all.
      My fondest wish would just be…
      To find out what happened to her [Annie].
      To be able to have a grave to visit.
      It would be very nice to be able to do that.

      I'm afraid, while a very media-friendly, popular belief most of these cases have very clear suspects known to the victims. The only case that remotely comes close to an LM connection and possibility is that of Deirdre Jacob.

      Hi Kez, I suspect this related to a copyright issue (often incidental background music) the original production company did not clear and it is left to us to resolve in YT Studio. Back when this was uploaded, YT Studio was dog-poor with sound editing tools (mute music without losing spoken audio). It has improved a lot since late 2023.

      The big problem with the geographical triangulation method is the basic assumption that all or most (6-8) cases from the 1990s are related to one predator. Therein is the problem. They are not. More than half have very distinct prime suspects already identified and operated with differing methodology. The Vanishing Triangle is something created by the media who covered the cases, not the individual investigations.
