    For me, a teal garage mixing style is very rough, choppy, and quick.
    By all means, use the fxs but keep it limited. You need to throw some more chops and cuts. For reference, look at dj ez, hermit and other old school djs for inspiration.
    But whatever you do, don't go down the new dnb route.
