Approximately 40 years have come and gone and The Dapper Dude From Dagenham is still telling it like it is and taking no prisoners and man, am I glad that he's still around...🍻✌
I'm standing on my pedestal You're spitting on my grave I'll crucify myself for your pleasure, But don't you ever call me slave, 'Cause I've made my bones, chosen my route, When the pistols' triggered, it's time to shoot I’ll take every chance within my grasp I’ll be kickin’ and a fighting 'til my last gasp, but… If this is the way things are, it's the way it's meant to be If this is the way things are, it's the way it's meant to be. No more crying, no more weepy tears I've got no time for your indulgence, won't entertain your fears. 'Cause I've made my choice, found my voice I know where I stand and I raise my hand, A mountain moves and there's the proof That the sky's the limit when you face the truth That I'm a fucker with a mission who's at the top The pimps that surround me won't let me stop, They call me friend, it's a trend, it's my blood they spend 'Cause cash or crucifixion, they get you in the end. And if this is the way things are, it's the way it's meant to be If this is the way things are, it's the way it's meant to be. If this is the way things are, it's the way it's meant to be If this is the way things are, it's the way it's meant to be. You ask me: Would fight for my country? And I tell you I’m already at war Against a mass mentality, an attitude That threatens my life and yours It’s Ignorance, it’s greed, it’s brutality And it calls itself a society Well, I consider myself at war, I consider myself at war, I consider myself at war, I consider myself at war, And If this is the way things are, it's the way it's meant to be. If this is the way things are, it's the way it's meant to be If this is the way things are, it's the way it's meant to be. If this is the way things are, more fool me.
Steve you played Maryport Cumbria , a backwater , with Poison Girls 1979 . Unemployment paradise under Maggie . Life changing event . Cops expected riots but it was friendly . Punks ,skins, normals all got on .Was a great night and your band stayed at my mates house , Crass gave his mum flowers then went to Glasgow gig . Felt it put our little shit hole on the map . Nicked your guitar strings and can of Colt 45 . Sorry .
Like it! Especially love the way Steve's singing with his hands in his pockets, as if he's waiting for a bus.
Steve is still genuine.
We'old and survive..Thats creat . All the best Steve.. Funtastic .

Shwartzeneggar song??? Seems like quite a few of The Slice of Life songs are just "easy listening" versions of Shwartzenneggar songs.
