I have never been in the Florida swamp, but in Louisiana, and MS'sippi swamp, it's creepy during high water, fog, when it is cold, and after dark. We had a houseboat in southern Ms'sippi, Pearl River swamp for many years. I could swear that during high water that I could see something just below the rippling water and hear the water whispering, early in the morning and right at dark. The Principle was standing out in front the school and saw us drive by. We all ducked including me. Next day the Principle called me over and said "funny thing happened to me yesterday standing out in front of the school. I saw a little red Pinto rolling down the street and no one was driving it! I lived in an apartment that had a screened in balcony that looked out over this pond that had ducks, cranes, turtles, fish and even an aligator in it. At night I would sit out there and listen to all the night creatures singing their songs. I absolutely LOVED it!
You lived in tourist Florida. The natives live in real Florida a dcwe protect it any way we can
I'm from the area.
Well hello from St. Pete, Fl. C'mon down!
I'd almost swear the images were done specifically for this song... very nicely done. I especially loved the dissolve from one image to the next. Excellent!
I'm glad you enjoyed my Swamp Witch video dwakeman. This great old classic song lends itself easily to some fantastic art for sure!

Brilliant! Goes great with the mood of the tune and is a tremendous video. Excellent artwork and great quality audio, too. A total blast from the '73 section of my 45's but without the scratches--Sounds great & visuals delicious gravy. Thanks!
Goodness, I haven't heard this song since I was a kid! My grandparents played all the great stuffs while I was growing up, so while I'm only a score and five, I adore the oldies and classics... I love Love LOVE this song

- Are you saying, "you are a long cool woman in a black dress"?
If you really are a witch, then you had a portent this reply would happen.
The art work in this video is amazing, love it !
This is a blast from the past. Haven’t heard this song in decades. Great visuals. Thanks for posting.
In my opinion this is one of the finest songs ever written, period. This is a story in a song. Jim Stafford does not get the recognition that he deserves. I have played this song many a time for my kids and I always tell them this song would make an excellent movie. All from a 4 minute song
Still rockin this song today lol. Good music never dies
We were talking on Facebook today about this song, I loved it....but, it scared my young son badly. He's 46 now and we laugh about it. THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING VIDEO BATLADY2
Thanks for taking the time to let me know you liked my Swamp Witch video Chris!
Making a country playlist for an older chap who's bad with technology and doesn't know how to download music (typically I hate country and I've been torturing myself for the last hour, but I really liked this song so ~#Silver-Lining)
Thank You-

Snakes hang thick from the cypress trees like sausage on a smokehouse wall.

ELENA & ASH from ‘Morbid’ podcast recommended you AND I love you already! Thank you !
A lot of memories with this song and the video is phenomenal!
This is an Underrated gem.
Hey thanks for a trip down memory lane. I remember hearing this as a kid. My Mother used to play the Jim Stafford albums (actually 8 tracks) and we as kids didn't know much about music. But I do remember those great songs. I especially love this tune. The lyrics are soooo enchanting. Kudo's to you and your excellent pictures to go with the song!
The artwork in this video is simply awesome. Beautiful. Fits the song for sure
Hey I know right.
One of my favorite singers! I loved Spiders and snakes and every song he’s done!
One of my all time favorites! Been a long time since I heard this.. now I am reunited with one of the Greats.. Feeling Fortunate... Thank you! Xo
Perfect video :-). Nice lyrics,, telling a real story. Better than all that "Love you love you love you, left you, left you, left you" crap that we 've heard so many times...
It’s literature...
Hell yaaa! This is the song that allowed me go from being bullied as a child > Fatty Patty' to Padi. which is now my legal name. This art work is most excellent...& the song still resonates my adult life...how odd, right? batlady2 Thank you so much
I keep this vid on my favorites list and watch it every few days. I grew up with these types of songs and am still a fan.Thank you for your time making this vid.
That was a very nice compliment you gave me on my video David thank you very much for taking the time to do so.
What else songs like this one man??
Thank You for this! To The Artist: Incredible work this entire video is a priceless master work. MORE PLEASE!!!!
I love this song and the graphics are awesome. The other songs I knew, (sung by Jim), were My Girl Bill, Wildwood Weed & Spiders & Snakes. But thru the wonder of U-tube, I have since enjoyed and laughed at Cow Pattie & Don't pat the dog.
There are probably heaps more and it just proves what an incredible talent Mr Stafford has.
This is lovely! Of course I've loved Jim Stafford since I was a kid, but I really love how you captured the essence through this awesome montage!! Rock on!
JiggleBaby501 Glad you liked it Jiggle and I thank you for taking the time to let me know you did!

KEVIN BLACK Thank you Kevin I'm glad you liked it!
Don't know what made me think of this song. Haven't heard it since the 70s Couldn't remember the exact name so I searched for swamp songs and knew it immediately when I saw it. Excellent video work
Nice job on the graphics! You done him proud I bet, thanks :)
I remember this great song. I bought the 45. Heard it on the Big Ape out of Jacksonville FL. Very spooky song. Remember watching Jim on his summer show. Does a great Johnny Cash impersonation. The next release was Spiders and Snakes co written with David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers who went on to record Let Your Love Flow. 2 more singles followed My Girl Bill and Wildwood Weed. I was happy to finally get the album on cd. Nice video! Always wanted to go to Branson just once to see Jim live! Cow Patti was another song of his I love!!
Hey how are you doing..??
Just saw this today and may I say the material you used for the vid was nothing short of PERFECT!
Great song and you did an amazing job on the video. Such excellent pictures too. I've subscribed and will be watching more of your videos.
LOL! I remember the 8 track days. I was in high school and drove a little red Pinto that had an 8 track tape player in it!
'65 Malibu had an 8-track! I remember those days well!
I had 1979 pinto hatchback all glass
@@robbielawshe715 I had a 1974 pinto. Plain and red with black interior and a 8 track tape player of which I mostly played Creedence clear water revival on. I wrecked it when me and 4 of my girl friends were all going up to the lake. We walked around the emergency room in our bathing suites. One time we all piled into that car and skipped school. The Principle was standing out in front the school and saw us drive by. We all ducked including me. Next day the Principle called me over and said "funny thing happened to me yesterday standing out in front of the school. I saw a little red Pinto rolling down the street and no one was driving it! Imagine that!" I lived in a small town. No one else had a little red Pinto but me. I could never get by with any thing. I graduated high school in 1975.
My pinto was powder blue. Loved that car we went everywhere on $2 worth of gas.
Good old 8 tracks.
The art work that accompanies the tune is exceptionally good.
I love this tune up in Ontario, Canada. Grew up listening to this but have never seen any visuals until now. Its fantastic! Makes the whole song come alive. Thank you for sharing your talent.
