Nancy Ann Fleming was a truly beautiful Miss America. She went on to a great career in TV in San Francisco for a good many years. Later she married TV host Jim Lange (The Dating Game). They were married for 36 years, before his passing in 2014.
I agree! I have been watching the pageant for many years and I can say it had become such a laughable event now! They have taken out just about everything that made tit was it was known for!!

I was a little girl. I watched the pageants with my mom and dad. Nancy is darling. From 1959 thru the 60s the ladies were a amazing
I love the dresses and white gloves. The dresses remind me a bit of an updated "Gone With the Wind" look.

@@tb3452, is it odd that Camille Schrier is my favorite Miss America, yet the “pageant” (😂) she won was my least favorite?
The best part of this telecast was the parade of previous Miss Americas including the very first one, Margaret Gorman.
Yes, that's the only time I actually saw the first Miss America.

How come miss America 1960 did not crown her successor? Instead of the director doing it?
They eventually stopped doing that. I’m glad they got rid of the robe and sitting in the chairs for the finalists.
