I think this ought to be compulsory viewing for all those anti-EV-ers out there who don't believe EVs are exciting. Brilliant fun, chaps. Keep up the good work.
You guys are awesome. I am a diehard petrol head hot rod classic car enthusiast and now finally appreciating electric power in classic cars. Well done👍🏾 and thanks from little New Zealand.
Incredible stuff you've pulled off here. I really hope that in the future these conversion kits become accessible and more affordable for everyone. Great for recycling these beautiful machines and giving em a new life. I will keep my 94 E38 stored until such a time when everyone will have a smile on their faces while on the road on electrons
Gotta fix the slipping when launching... When that is fixed you can get closer to 3 seconds with same motor. Either use overpressure or solid rubber tires to increase traction... I remember using well over 2 bars on my 13" wheels. Even then I had to use 4th gear to get the best traction.
You deserve the 100.000 subscribers. Your channel gives a lot of (technical) information and easy to follow. makes people enthusiastic about electric cars , greetings from the Netherlands.
Congrats on 100k Subs guys! big fan, glad to have been here through out. We're hoping for an update on that unique racer you're putting together there Richard! awesome work guys
It’s really because of you! The more people watch you the more you come across as knowledgeable, experienced qualified and capable! Of course you have a great camera man/ co driver and team. I wish I lived there where my ancestors are from. Let us know when you want open a US location. Thank you and congratulations Richard Morgan and team!!!😊😊😊😊
The mini scrabbling for grip and the sheer enjoyment it gave the guys was the winner for me. The beetle torching it’s tyres, just plain awesome. But the Defenders OMG that’s exactly what I want! Do you guys have installation partners in Australia?
Congratulations on 100k. I love all the reactions, but the guy driving you Defender in the cold was hilarious! Keep up the great content. Back to work on the single seater Beetle!
Best reaction by far is Matt Watson launching your Defender. I have a Caterham type kitcar with a screaming bike engine with 13000 rev limit. I know at some point it will be swapped for an electric motor. The future is very bright indeed 👍👍
I had a near identical Beetle with a worked 1835cc in it. It went well but I'm left drooling at the Tesla powered version. I'd kill for that thing as a modern upgrade.
What a collection of videos Richard which all showcase your fantastic electric conversions to classic cars. I like the VW versus the McClaren P1 the best 👍🏴😎
Thanks for all the videos and congratulations on the 100K. It's always a great pleasure to see your beautiful conversions and I think, at least for me, your channel does more for electric vehicles than big advertising campaigns and well-intentioned information. I really like cars from before the mid-1970s, so your choice of cars has been absolutely perfect in my opinion. The Beetle and the Landrover made me laugh out loud. I would much rather drive the Beetle than VW's new electric models. If it has to be exotic, it could be fun to see an electric Saab 92-94 - the oldest model. Once you get started with a very French vehicle it will be fantastic to see an electric Citroen DS.
Although the VW is sick, I must admit the Land Rover is my favourite.. Especially the first clip.. That guy is having some serious fun going 0-60 in no time whatsoever.. 😁
Brilliant! This in a way, will save a lot of classic cars from the junkyard by doing this. Take the car with the worse gas engine, but has great looks and convert it to the best car ever.
Wow. What a video, the beetle is awesome and I would love one given half a chance. Congrats to the whole team, you've struck automotive gold and I wish you all the luck in the world with the next chapter in your story. Best clip, gotta be Guy Martin boss.
AB-SO-LUTE-LY BRILLIANT! And to think of all those classic and, well, just old cars that can have so much new life breathed into them. It's an industry of the future, now!
Congrats, love what you're doing, keep it up! I have everything crossed that one day I'll be able to afford a classic conversion, maybe a Ford Capri or Cortina pickup. (P.s. Matt Watson's reactions are definitely the best)
Great video Richard! I suspect you'll pick up a good number of (much deserved) new subscribers from the added exposure you're sure to get. Richard, your electric conversions have made an electric car fan/convert out of me, a diehard 1960's - early 1970's American Muscle Car addict. I'm anxiously awaiting the Mk1 or Mk2 Escort conversion you told me I can expect to see sometime in the future. Thank you for all the time you and your crew put in to make your channel among the very best on RUclips.
Nice one !! Keep them coming. You'll have to get a compilation of unsuspecting driver reactions next, people that actually end up sitting in it instead of smelling it.. :)
A well deserved 100K subs. I love this chanel! Here in Spain there are tons of well preserved classics that would really benefit from the ECC treatment. Locally a rot free 106 and a Renault 4 that would be lovely running on electrons. Keep up the good work.
So all those years of studying trims and wings for aerodynamics just went through the window😅 just replace the ICE with an over powered Tesla motor that just cuts through the physics of drag and air friction like a hot knife does butter 🤣🤣
wow all those years of development and advances and amazing engineering that has gone into developing the best petrol engine possible...engines that are a complicated work of art ..being beaten by a simple electric motor.
Well those engines don't work without multiple electric motors, electricity and batteries to begin with. Plus electricity water and cobalt used at every refinery just to make crude oil useable. So it really shouldn't be that surprising in the end. 🤔
You should investigate EV motor development ... there's some clever stuff going on, "simple electric motor" doesn't describe it! (If your brain isn't hurting within 15 minutes of delving into the technicalities you're a better man than I am!)
Hey Richard. Doing a 74 super beetle ev conversion on my channel bills cool projects on youtube.. hey where did you get the carbon fiber bumpers? Cannot find them anywhere. Thanks for the videos
@@ElectricClassicCars i did wonder when i seen the the back ground of the defender bolt in conversation kit video . Nice very jealous 😄👍🏻 congratulations on 100k

Not sure why some LFP batteries say there is a limit to the size of the pack, say a 12v limited to 4s4p at 48v for example. Physical battery design? The BMS hardware or software? What makes that same battery pack a bad idea at 12s12p for example to get up to 144vdc? Any good links or a quick summary to help out?
Pretty much the same reaction I had when I bought my regular (non sport model) e-scooter back in 2019. I had no idea your cars were in so many shows. I've seen the mini video before but had no idea it was your work. Didn't seem fast enough to be something you've done.
@@ElectricClassicCars Sometimes that can be a plus. They set my e-scooter's acceleration curve to accelerate as hard as possible without losing traction which is quite addictive
I’m curious if you’re interested in working together with expanding these projects? I’m moving out of Canada soon and getting setup to start working on conversion’s like this. I’m curious if you have any options without computer’s management system’s? I know that there’s a lot of us that refuse to drive anything with a computer and all the sensors that keep tow trucks employed more steadily than ever before!
That burnout never gets old. 👍👍
I like the race between the oh so super Beetle and the green Porsche. That put me on the edge of my seat.
I think this ought to be compulsory viewing for all those anti-EV-ers out there who don't believe EVs are exciting. Brilliant fun, chaps. Keep up the good work.
