RR: “How much is the dongle?”
    HG: “Uh…$40 or $50”
RR: “How long is the hose??”
    HG: “Umm…10 or 15ft.” (It was 10’)
    RR: “What’s your favorite color??”
HG: “Uhhh Teal!! No wait…Red, I meant Red!”

Was there any update on this new vacuum? (VC 4X-22).
I can't seem to find any information on this model online - do you know when it might be released?

I am once again shopping for a dust extractor. I am after the most suction possible for a relatively compact tool. I primarily install and refinish hardwood floors so I need something reliable and powerful that can do a post sand vacuum and get as much fine dust as possible before doing a dry microfiber pass.
I'm looking at the Hilti VC 300 or the Hilti 150 10 XE. It seems like hilti is one of the best brands for dust control out there. Do you have any experience with these models?

Myself and few others I know went through multiple brand new units of the VC 140-2-22. I went through three or four before I asked for my money back. The others just settled for a wonky vac or dumped it for an XGT model. The issue was in the electronics (a poorly soldered PCB just floating around up top and surely getting worked over by the relentless filter knock). The Bluetooth would shit the bed almost immediately. Just all sorts of bizarre behavior. There were design and manufacturing issues. A small thing but the rubber feet would fall off as you removed it from the retail packaging. The inlet would constantly get clogged because of the pair of hard right elbows. The locking clasps were a nightmare. Even the reps commented “it’s that difficult to get the motor unit on and off”? The vac itself is tall and narrow, so it just falls over constantly. Zero storage for the hose:. Like…c’mon, is this an Emerson vac from Home Depot? The product made me scratch my head. Their corded dust collectors are clearly made in partnership with Nilfisk, so how did this amateur effort come to be? They made a piece of junk their center attraction. So now’s their second chance and….still no hose storage, no confirmation about the electronics issues being fixed and…they tacked on a cheap trolley? Just cobbled together like that? Starmix made an excellent cordless dust extractor ages ago. Surely Nilfisk can work up a real product with them. Other than the junky Chervon bandsaw, every other Nuron tool I have has been nothing short of excellent. They even went ahead and released vastly improved 6-1/2” saw offerings. So how is this their cordless dust extractor offering? A lemon that is a pain to work with even when it’s not acting up? Do they not get Festool catalogs in Liechtenstein?

I signed up to a lease plan and I can’t give it back heap of junk . Bluetooth seldom works . Constantly banging cleaning filter . Needs bags that cost 10 euro min each would need 3 a day . It’s crazy hard on battery’s I need 3 of the biggest ones at 507 euro each it’s a complete robbery costing me a fortune a month can’t wait for contract to end
I’ve already bought a new vacuum a dc1800 dust control . Far superior machine with a plug

a small cordless vac with a decent length hose would be very practicle often for my work . i could go smaller and expecially a smaller flexible hose . maybe there will be more hilti in my tool arsenal in the future

Turned me off!! He represents Hilti & he doesn’t know how much the remote button will retail for & he doesn’t know how much the vac weighs?!. Gave me a disingenuous vibe & I stopped watching. I’ve always liked Hilti quality despite the price but when they started manufacturing in China I decided not to buy. I’m in the Festool’s ecosystem now where everything is tightly integrated & I’m mostly happy. Mostly bc all the plastic underwhelms for the high price their tools command. I’d consider Hilti seriously (& did) when they manufactured in Liechtenstein & had company stores where you could hold them in your hands to see if it fit you (I’m left-handed).

Go to the store, you're lucky if you find ONE rep that knows anything other than what the computer tells them. It's crazy it's came down to that, at least the Festool reps are almost always on their A-Game.
