Once worked at Basingstoke Depo and the wages were amazing, and the benefits incredible, and one of the best super market warehouses I have ever been in, a very, very professional business set up.
Just looking at the comedy angle in this, I was thinking maybe the security man is also thinking why can't any of the customers speak in an understandable way !
I've worked at a supermarket and believe me, meat is the most stolen item in the store. So naturally managers and security are aware of this. They are told this, and to look out for it. We place yellow security stickers on all valuable meat items in the store that are meant to trigger the alarm. Processing the item with the sticker at checkout does not de-activate the sticker and its ability to set off the alarm. It happens alot and so therefore it is checked on the receipt as a caution. The whole thing can be over in less than 10 seconds if the item is simply stated on your receipt. You would not believe the amount of scumbags stealing from the store I worked at day in and day out, brazen and bold in doing so. These security guards work 12 hour shifts nearly everyday doing nothing but stand in the same spot. I can tell you that this man you filmed is only trying to help the store and be a functional security guard. Most of them do absolutely nothing and simply stand by the door all day. At least this one is trying. It must be a very very boring job. I appreciate your awareness of the rules and trying to show everyone our freedoms but really, this man was only doing what was necessary to deter the many many common thieves out there stealing meat to sell down the pub.
It's down to the individual security guard. I wouldn't search anyone, then again I would always offer the person to relinquish any goods they had stolen and allow them to go on their merry way with a ban from the premises. This even if the person obviously had goods stuffed up their jackets. Just like when I stopped a girl of about 14 years old who had three bottles of wine up her jumper. No way was I gonna search her. I just said give me the wine and you can go. She apologised and went on her way.

Despite the dislikes I absolutely love these supermarket and shopping mall videos, I think the guards there are the ones that need the most educating on how to be polite and also the law. Please AB, make more of these. Also, quite an interesting story if you are interested, a few months back, I went shopping and the worst thing that happened to me, was a rude security guard, telling me I have to enter the mall exactly through the lines that are painted on the floor, and exit stepping on the lines showing the exit, because of covid 19. Definetely brings a new meaning to covid police.
@Threehundredpages Pages sometimes quite alot of things set them up ranging from student card wallets and laptops I make sure myself that I check the alarms regular to make sure they are all in order
... well, it's a no win situation trying to talk with a security who barely says a word in English... how do they accept someone like that person to be a security at a supermarket?... maybe that's their intention, making you to give up your rights and comply!
This is also wrong, it’s innocent until proven guilty, they shouldn’t be going through his stuff they should be watching their cctv and then approach him if he stole something
Unfortunately incorrect. Metaphorically speaking, 'you' have entered private property, that has public access. Do not confuse this with a public place. All goods contained within are the sole ownership of the the purveyor until payment is made, in full. That's why they issue a receipt. Be prepared to show the receipt and the contents of your trolley. Simple really.
@@kelvynmoore4882 private property has the same laws as public area if it has public access during their operating hours, so I am correct it’s innocent until proven guilty! It’s up to the police to find a crime or guilt, we have the right to remain silent so we do not have to prove our innocence! And you have a option to take a receipt do not HAVE to take one, so if they think someone is stealing then they need to go watch their cctv and then report it to the police and hand over their evidence. And also a security guard isn’t allowed to stop you to check your bags unless he/she has seen you pick an item up and conceal it! Don’t believe me go do the research.

Omfg u don’t understand. I work in a JD thats next to a Sainsbury’s and there product’s always set of our alarms. They never take the tags off things. But our protocol is if it goes off we have to have a look even though we know it’s something to do with Sainsbury’s
I used to have this problem when I went shopping with my mum, in some stores her hearing aids would set off the alarms, we would have quite a laugh about it, in the end they got to know us and didn't stop us.
The alarm went off so the security guard was checking the items against the receipt to see if anything was being stolen. That is the idea of a security guard, is that so difficult to understand? You Sir just go looking for an argument!

@Threehundredpages Pages Where did I say they were gods 😂 a white British security guard wouldn’t have discriminatory comments said about him off the bat. You’ve seen the colour of his skin and his troubles with the English language and made assumptions which is extremely worrying
1:40 "if I go to the supermarket and spend my money". Assuming AB they have actually exchanged their money for the products. Not 'some' of the goods. You need to purchase 'all' of the goods you have taken. A supermarket is privately owned property with public access. It is not public property. Rather like a ‘pub’. The goods on the shelves are under the ownership of the business until such a point they are deemed 'purchased' on exit of the premises. This includes all implied terms. Purchasing law is one of the oldest and well documented laws in the United Kingdom. SCONES is a working doctrine for security staff to follow. It is not statute. All this could of course be avoided... just pay for what you've taken and perhaps keep the receipt?
Security are generally treated like crap by employers and other staff, and then MR A.B. comes and sticks his nose in, for no other reason than to look clever to his devoted followers, Tw@.
Customer was a bit of a karen getting "pissed off" "2nd time", how is it the checkout guys fault that the security tag went off, he sorted it out for him maybe buy beef somewhere else if it ruins his day that much or... keep a receipt. Good to see the security guard checking the alarmed customers, our supermarket we get stuff stolen all the time because we have a security guard who prioritises his smoking breaks.
So I work in a supermarket myself. If the alarm goes off as a customer leaves the only thing store security should do is remove the tag for the customer. Even if they suspect them of theft they can't do anything other than follow their own procedure which AC ran through at the start of the video. There is nothing stopping them from reviewing security video and keeping a picture of the suspected thief for next time. As to the customer complaining I think they are well within their rights and understandably annoyed. If I had been the assistant I would tell them to make a customer compliant. The tags on meat are the worsted and need to be removed or updated and this won't happen unless customers complain. I'd suggest bringing up your concerns about your stores security with your line manager.
Sainsburys security actually have a thob in there pocket and have to set off alarm and search so many people a day, it happened to me I seen him move his hand in his pocket as I approached so I looked it up on here and it is well documented, they do it, try looking it up sainsburys security and fobs

Not as much as these annoying security guards are hassling customers. These arrogant supermarkets are acting like the customers should feel lucky if they manage to come into their store and spend their hard earned money without being hassled due to their faulty security systems
@@maltefrom There's no excuse for impoliteness I totally agree. But do remember that you are entering their premises. It is their private premises that you have public access to. It is not a publicly owned such as a library. All the products offered for sale remain the sole property of the owner until payment is made in full before exit. It's the same for your local corner shop as it is for a national supermarket. If you don't like their attitude, shop somewhere else. They may just change it if enough people boycott the store. I'm wondering however if people's response would be different if AB did this in his local, family run independent store?
I wont shop in sainsburys after they made me put £100 worth of shopping through a self service till as all the other tills were only accepting payments via card which i dont have, i only use cash.
I’m not sure what exactly this interaction has to do with you? Surely this is between the individual shopper and Tesco? Why are you so keen to get involved with your camera? AB, it’s got nothing to do with you. If you’re bored during lockdown, why not volunteer for a charitable cause or for community work? They could really use some extra help right now.
This is funny, he points out "S.C.O.N.E" which the N stands for "non payment". The showing of the receipt (which btw is PROOF OF PURCHASE) proves if the customer paid or hadn't paid for the item which set off the Alarm. The fact he (AB) "you don't have to show him no recipient" (which btw the people on here complaining about other people's spelling I find funny with this grammatical laziness with "he doesn't have to show you NO recipt) shows that he had to look it up AFTER filming once again showing ignorance and looking for argument which is every single one of his videos!

How do people land jobs as security personell when they can't even speak in a relatively understandable way?
Lmao the pubs not open and stop. Judging people in times of need sound like a right judgemental person
What pubs?
@@amybaccellini5438 I know they’re not open what’s your point? It’s still security’s job. Who am I judging?
I worked at an ASDA store for 8 years. Yes there are a lot of scum but you cannot treat everyone as though they are the same.
There’s no such word as “alot”.
It's RARE that these security guards follow correct procedures
Very well done
It's down to the individual security guard. I wouldn't search anyone, then again I would always offer the person to relinquish any goods they had stolen and allow them to go on their merry way with a ban from the premises. This even if the person obviously had goods stuffed up their jackets. Just like when I stopped a girl of about 14 years old who had three bottles of wine up her jumper. No way was I gonna search her. I just said give me the wine and you can go. She apologised and went on her way.

There is only one answer to that question, "I'M BATMAN!!"
The entrance and exit was the same btw, and it was huge. That was the most rude and the most stupid thing a stranger had ever told me, and then she even got upset by it! Definetely brings a new meaning to covid police.
How boring all your videos would be without conflictions.

They can set the alarms off themselves if they think you look dodgy, they're total wankers for the main part!
@Threehundredpages Pages yes they are it's really easy actually
@Threehundredpages Pages it literally just a tag
@Threehundredpages Pages sometimes quite alot of things set them up ranging from student card wallets and laptops I make sure myself that I check the alarms regular to make sure they are all in order
@Threehundredpages Pages I'd.complain if that's the case
... well, it's a no win situation trying to talk with a security who barely says a word in English... how do they accept someone like that person to be a security at a supermarket?... maybe that's their intention, making you to give up your rights and comply!
Well they know all the citizens coming in and out never bothered to learn a second language, so maybe you are right :D
This is also wrong, it’s innocent until proven guilty, they shouldn’t be going through his stuff they should be watching their cctv and then approach him if he stole something
Im no store detective, but I thought its only theft once he exits the store, thus meaning hes not going to return.
I work in retail as security if the alarm goes off I ask for a receipt just the policy we follow then apologise for the inconvenience

SAINSBURY'S - - A short while ago, I was shopping in one of their stores. I had a full shopping cart withx2 bottles of brandy,... which I had left along with some soft perishables to CHECK-OUT at the end. - Meanwhile the small packing area of the self-checkout till was loaded and after I had scanned the few perishables through the till then the x2 bottles of brandy,... I left the perishables on top of the SCAN / weigh table ( wanting to place them on the bottles after being LIBERATED from their UNDER-AGE tags. - I called the assistant.
.
She came and said I should pay for / scan through the perishables - I stated they were already done & that she could check after she LIBERATED the brandy as this NOTICE blocked the major part of the screen,.. and I continued to REFUSE to re-scan the perishables.
- She walked off to get a security guard,... I remained calm but OPENLY showed my distain at her STUPIDITY.
- The security guard came to the till with a young effeminate boy , to see what was going on. I explained the situation above and HE ( the security guard was content) - then the young effeminate boy tried to be assertive and made a demand of me,... to which I was now getting pissed off with,... and I said - JUST GET ON WITH IT & stop wasting my time.
- Stupidly,... the young boy than said, I don't like you talking to me like that.
- I sad,... fair enough,... I'm not paying for the goods, I no longer wish to shop here with this CUSTOMER SERVICE attitude,... and in leaving, I said - NOW you can spend the next 45minutes putting everything back on the shelf, and I walked out unhindered.
. I did NOT comply to tjheir stupidity,... and attempts to control. They cou7ld NOT charge me with stealing, as I left withou any goods, and had every intention of paying for what I had chosen - UNTIL these 'self-important nobodies' with little customer care, and even less rational get a jumped up idea of their position,... and try to be passive aggressive.

Alarm detects me "beep beep beep"
Me looks at everyone else.
I'm a security guard myself and I love your security guard videos 😂💯.

Not as much as these annoying security guards are hassling customers. These arrogant supermarkets are acting like the customers should feel lucky if they manage to come into their store and spend their hard earned money without being hassled due to their faulty security systems
Says one who likes their slavery!

This is funny, he points out "S.C.O.N.E" which the N stands for "non payment".
