Please leave your comments about the GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL Sixties & Sixties Chronograph Annual Edition 2020 here underneath and please read the description of the video. There you will find all technical data of the two watches...
No date on either is soo perfect. Couldn't imagine putting a hole in those beautiful dials. I have the galvanized blue version and it's awesome. I'm more interested in the straps on the Glacier Blue. Like to get one for my all blue watch.
Tastes are different! I would exchange the strap and you like it... Anyhow Glashütte Original has a variety of them, so everyone will find his favorite.... Yes, we are still going strong and continue to do so!
Farhan In fact I did... Yes, it was me filming here in Vienna and Jorge, my cameraman and editor, who was editing the video in Switzerland ... I did several attempts to to find the best white balance so that the watches look as real as possible...
Ken NY The dials do really look gorgeous. When filming I did several attempts with the white balance to be able capture the dials as they are... So what you see is almost reality. Almost because a camera will never be able to replace the eye...
Thank you Alex for your wonderful job (as always) I love Glashütte and after I bought the Glashütte SeaQ Panorama Datum, I’m in love with the brand and now, I want to add this chronograph to my collection... amazing brand!!! (Hope they didn’t add AR coating on the external side) still perfect watch
Stay safe Alexander. Without you the internet would seriously miss your superior watch content. The three hander would be my choice. Pure, simple and elegant. But then all Glashütte's look gorgeous.
I am glad to see you in good health. Cheers for the presentation. I agree with you, the dial is beautiful, and the domed sapphire case back is a novel idea. Very well executed.
I fully agree!!! I am actually wearing the new SeaQ Chronograph… we will present you the watch in a few days with a video… share some thoughts with us once you saw the video…
Just checked these out today. That is the best looking blue dial I've seen. Quality build, and the detail on the movement is unheard of at this price point. My only complaint was the strap. It's just a bit too roughly textured and casual for such a fine dress watch, and the quality did not match the watch itself. (FYI, also the issue I have with Grand Seiko bracelets) You are right about the dealers being more than willing to swap it out. I've been looking for a 39 - 40 mm sporty dress watch with a clear case back. Once we get the strap sorted out, I think this is it.
I only can confirm everything positive about this Glashütte Original... Good choice you will not regret your decision! I am curious to learn which strap you decided to fit on it... in case you have any questions and/or you need help please let me know...
great great video and such gorgeous looking watches. I've liked the 42mm sixties ltd editions each of the last 3 years but its very hard to get your hands on them in person to know if you want to fork over that kind of money. I'd love to check them out in the flesh before making my next significant watch purchase.
Gavin G You must get the opportunity for a touch and feel! You will only thereafter be able to make a correct and good decision. But I also send you a word of warning ⚠️ ... Getting that chronograph in real on your wrist may endanger your credit card 💳... 🤣 Humor aside 😉 ... if you need any help and/or you have questions, please let me know...
@@jumboJetPilot No worries! But these dials do not only look good, also their quality is incredible... I have seen how they are made... believe me that’s impressive...
WatchAdvisor I’ll bet they are! I have been a fan of GO for well over 20 years; long before most people knew who they were and what they made. I wanted to get the green flinquè dial version of this when it came out in 2018. I’ll have to go ore-owned now. I wished they wouldn’t have made them in limited productions. The same model but with an additional dial option each year would have been awesome! I’d also like to see last year’s orange one in person as well as the new SeaQ. Hopefully they’ll make green and red variants of the SeaQ!
These are definitely sixties watches. I'd love to have either one of those, Glashutte makes one of the best dials. The chronograph is pretty thin despite being a modular chronograph.
Thanks for the nice and honest review Alexander. GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL Sixties Chronograph is really growing on me! And I agree with other comments that the blue dial is even more beautiful in person.!
Even when we tried to reproduce the blue as authentic as possible there is always a difference to reality... starting already with the light conditions each of us sees it...
I’ve been a fan of GO for 25 years now. I’m glad the rest of the world is starting to agree with me! As for this model - I’d toss a blue gator strap on it.
Love the German manufacturers and seem too often ignored in favor of the Swiss. Simply a lack of knowledge by consumers. Especially love Glashutte Original. The blue dial is gorgeous and certainly my favorite of their issues for this model. Wonderful how the color changes with movement of the watch!
Stevee Wonders I guarantee you that you will play around with that light-color effect all the time and you will always discover another facet ... The German watchmaking is a little in the shadow of Switzerland - very true. But see it that way: You buy and get understatement, a watch for connoisseurs only.
So this year they picked the favorite dial color for you! I love the three hand as a very elegant dress watch. Pure and simple retro style with a beautiful dial. The transparent back and the view on the movement is a very nice execution. I would just choose another strap than that in the video, but that is personal taste and you explained it well.
Really love those dials. They provide such impact to the face of the watch. Stay safe Alexander. Just a thought, how about a segment on home made watches from the viewers? Just an idea to help you along.
James, I already invited our audience to make videos long before we knew abbot Covid-19... But no one dared so far... So if you want to be the first, you are more than welcome and may also inspire others to follow later...
Awesome video! GO is get better & better in term of design & craftsmanship. They hv their very own design element. Love it. I can only think of GS in dial comparison.
That’s simply a good design. Down to earth and still very cool. That’s for sure not a show-off-watch, neither the chronograph, nor the three-hand. I would say sophisticated understatement...
@@WatchAdvisor I do not , I always forget my phone somewhere esle, and for some reason I never remember the date, I use my watch, anyway beatiful pieces, you are right the chrono is stuning :)

Superb video as always I would love to hear your thoughts on the GO seventies chronograph. Unlike the sixties chronograph it does come with a date that IMHO doesn’t ruin the overall esthetic of the dial. Especially in the limited 100 pics models which have outstanding dials, different hour markers and amazing deep and rich color. It does remained the case design of the PP nautilus, can it be compared to the VC overseas chronograph?
Glashütte Original, Vacheron Constantin both play in the absolute luxury league of the industry... So you will - as everywhere else - find advantages and disadvantages if you start comparing. Both manufactures deliver outstanding chronographs and you should always let your heart speak when it comes to buy a watch. Buy emotional, spontaneous the one you fall in love with. So you will never regret your decision and wear an absolute fabulous chronograph ...
Thank you for another great video. I am a big fan of this brand. I recently purchased a Sport Evo Chrono. I don’t understand why that watch isn’t more popular? I don’t understand why the brand isn’t more popular? What am I missing? The chrono you presented is stunning in my opinion. Is it a limited edition? Thanks again!!
IMHO the proportions are perfect 👌🏻, but of course depend on the size of the wrist and ones personal taste... The hands have a SuperLumiNova inlay, so you can read the time when it is dark...
WatchAdvisor well honestly I am not a fan of this model. However, I love GO and Senator Excellence, 3 hander in solid gold with panorama date is my absolute favorite from the brand 👌🏻
That glacier blue dial is mesmerising and I’m sure that the photography doesn’t do it justice. Only knock is that the power reserve is fairly low these days at 40 hours when 70 is becoming the norm, however to achieve that would be at the expense of the beauty of the movement. By the way ‘beautifulist’ is ‘most beautiful’ just a minor correction. Definitely a fine timeless head turning watch that is very unique looking at a time when generic looking derivative watches are taking over the market.
I paid maximum attention to lighting conditions and white/color balance when filming ... I was happy and proud seeing the result, since I really was able to reproduce the beauty of the dials... whenever you have the chance compare the real watch to our video displayed on an excellent screen... you will then understand what I just wrote... Power reserve could be better - true... But is an automatic movement and therefore not so critical. Setting the watch is also easy, just in case it stopped...
WatchAdvisor not meant as a criticism to your video just praising the dial to the heavens is all, apologies if you read it that way. Agreed on the power reserve, if you actually wear the watch as intended daily you will keep it topped up very easily, plus the interaction on setting it without a date complication will be both a pleasure and a breeze. Both beautiful pieces and as my next watch will have a blue dial it’s definitely on the list to check out in the metal. Such a dial execution will generate so many beautiful blue and even purple hues depending on the light conditions. The strap is a little quirky and I’m surprised it’s not a deployant, but as you say there are many options.
No need to apologize since I did not read it as a criticism... I just wanted to point out that you can trust the colors shown in the video, if watched on a good screen of course... You write: "Such a dial execution will generate so many beautiful blue and even purple hues depending on the light conditions" ... Yes, it will! Every day you will be able to discover a new facet... Let me know if you have questions and/or you need help to located an AD/boutique for the Sixties
Fantastic one. Gorgeous blue. WOW. Is the small one compatible with the fantastic steel bracelet? Since I am owner of the SeaQ Panoramadatum I love GO. Their dials are amazing...and what I love about this watch is that this watch is flat! Thank you for showing us this beauty. Enjoy the weekend and stay healthy
The "Sixties" Annual Edition with its glacier blue dial, varnished with dégradé effect, white Arabic numerals, diamond-cut hour markers with luminous dots is meant to be sold with a calfskin nubuck brown-grey strap... 19mm is the size in-between the lugs... I can't tell you if there is a steel bracelet fitting the watch, but I will ask and let you know...
@@WatchAdvisor Dear Alexander, I hope you are well. Was a bit worried that you may be unwell as you have not posted anything for over a week. Beautiful watches with beautiful colour's.
One word: Gorgeous....! I am so in love with this model. Waiting for the right model to arrive, and this might be the one. I was hoping for a blue one and look! Tried one one few years ago and fits very well around my wrist. One thing I noticed is the loud noice by the oscillating weight... but then every watch it’s character. But where to buy for a guy like me in Belgium... ther is only one dealer i Antwerp, and since it’s boutique only....
WatchAdvisor Ok, if it’s not a boutique only, then my (only) dealer should have it. I would however prefer to see it in the flesh because it’s a special sheen/dégradé. Thanks watchadvisor for willing to help me, it’s much appreciated! Since i have been eying this for a long time, but it’s going to be (one of...)my last watch, i need to see the color. i am sure it will not sell oit to quickly. Have a good week end!
wernerjacq I was able to film it as it looks like... did several tries with white-balance and found the right choice. So what you see in the video is already pretty real... But I agree a touch and feel is the best one can do, to take a final decision. I am happy to read that you will be able to get it through your AD. Just in case anything doesn’t work or as you expect it to do, please let me know... 😉
WatchAdvisor Thanks watch advisor. It’s purely a color thing. I tried a sixties model 2 years ago and it just wears perfectly for me. love the case & shape, so no worries. Have you had the same experience with the rotor noise, well let’s say when you move your wrist, it’s audible. But then, my Grand Seiko and my Jaeger-Lecoultre with the 899/1 movement does that too, so I don’t see this as a problem. I do see you took your time to get the color right. Since this is a slightly more expensive watch, i will need to do my homework as good as possible because once I buy a watch it is forever. I do never flip watches. The less expensive but oh so beautifull Longines heritage classic sector dial is one I decided buying after your video.... because it was so well presented. Still love this one very very much.
wernerjacq Yes, you hear the rotor a little bit... Nothing I would worry about, it’s a sign that the watch is alive in a way... I do recommend you to try it on, thereafter you will know if you really want it or not. The Longines will always be a watch you like. It’s timeless design technically realized in a very satisfying way. Both, Glashütte Original and Longines, belong to Swatch Group, so I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed ...
The blue is pretty in real life with lilac tones and the strap is super comfy. The red in real life is stunning but, dare I say it, reminds me of the Corona virus somehow. It’s certainly a one off and somehow captivating.
WatchAdvisor indeed. So refreshing to get away from generic and somewhat overdone designs (my beloved Rolex ceramic Sub Date I’m looking at you haha) then this German brand with its daring vibrancy is certainly a change up in the rotation. This brand in particular is punching above its weight and is producing some gorgeous designs. So refreshing in a market place where a lot of designs appear somewhat derivative, safe and sterile. The Swiss make the best watches. And so do the Germans!
Randy Allen Tastes are different! That’s what I also said in the video. The strap is a proposal and of course you can exchange it with a variety of choices the brand offers... I would also wear the chronograph with a blue strap... 😉
@@WatchAdvisor Alex I've only a smallish wrist so the chronograph might be to big but having said that I found the watch dial, both shape and colouring stunning so would be happy with either. I've been looking at UK authorised dealers and there's one quite close to me although these models were not showing on their website. They did have a Seventies Panorama Date in blue which reminded me of a watch my dad had when I was young.
Martin T My wrist is 16,5 cm ... if this helps... The Sixties are brand new so it’s most likely that they have not been delivered yet. Let me know if you have any additional questions...
@@WatchAdvisor My wrist is 17cm tight, probably 17.5 to know the watch is there without it cutting off circulation lol and it does help Will definitely be something I look at if my job stays the same after lockdown. Thanks Alex
@@WatchAdvisor ohh OK then :-). I must say the German watches, which I have never heard of are very impressive. Looking forward to more presentations, soon.
@@WatchAdvisor I’m thinking of getting the chrono green dial. Can get a new one for $6,500 here in NY. Thinking of exchanging my Pelagos FXD while I can still get good money for it.
Nice watches, I was interested in the 1960 three hand but I didn't like the look of a watch with a case display showing a small movement, not a good look.
Fabulous watch, especially the small one, although a little too small, maybe 40 or 41mm would be just perfect. Disappointing strap and no folding clasp. The price is high, I would't buy it for more than 5000€
I mentioned it already in the video that the strap is also not my cup of coffee... Glashütte Original offers a variety of alternatives to the shown one. so everybody should be able to find his favorite ... Concerning the folding clasp I must say I personally prefer a pin buckle...
@@WatchAdvisor Yes, but for that price range one would expect a top quality strap and in accordance of the watch. Of course, you always can change it, but that is extra €€€.
A Glashütte Original inspired by a 1960s model...now that’s interesting. This original model would have been an East German product, wouldn‘t it? Were they sold in the West in those days, I wonder? Were they highly respected? (I know some East German products such as cars were..how shall we say?..not that great!)
That's a design of the Sixties and yes it was a watch that was manufactured during DDR times. Still it was beautiful watch and it also found its way to the other Germany, the BRD!
I think the swiss watch industry is at risk of a looming crisis due to recession triggered by Coronavirus pandemic. It is probably similar to the quartz one in the old days. I think it will be ironic that maybe this time the industry can be saved by offering alternative lines of watches powered by quartz movement to make the watches affordable and marketable and will enable them to keep their employees . I hope we will one day be able to buy these lovely watches like the on your hand for less than $1k. Just a thought.
o neph. Quite unlikely 😄 At least for the top 3 categories (luxury, high end & ultra luxury). Buyers of these watches, especially the last 2, will most likely not be affected to the extent of not buying a new watch as frequently as they’re used to.
I’m from the US and I find a watch review without a European accent somewhat boring and actually lacking a bit of credibility (haha, not kidding); not that it can’t or isn’t accomplished. Love the accent... and love the channel, primarily for its quality content.
Stevee Wonders I love your comment! Thank you very much! I know that there is room for improvements and I’m working on it... Of course, would English be my mother tongue these videos would have an additional boost ... My language-luxury-problem is that I also have to keep my French (I am bilingual) and Italian alive, besides German my mother tongue. As you know one always improves...
@@WatchAdvisor then I would consider it 100% made by g.o. cause the straps are like clothes ... But the main heart and soul is the watch itself... Love your work... Keep up the good work and stay safe... Would be nice if you could do more factories tour as most of us wonder what our favourite brands do work behind the scene but not all of us can have a personalised tour of it.
No manufacturer is able to to do everything in-house! Because there are top specialist manufacturing and delivering some parts... But we can definitely say that Glashütte Original has a very, very high manufacturing depth...

the green was the annual edition 2018 I assume the watches are sold out...
Beautiful movements! Both are awsome! Glashute is very popular in Poland especialy vintage. Stay safe and sound!
True! which of the Vintage are the most popular ones?
WatchAdvisor Cold war Spezimatic and Spezichron cal 74, cal 75, cal 69,1 cal 70,1
Jacek Malejko I prefer the Spezimatic... Especially those with the typo they use today...
WatchAdvisor Yes I know what You mean.
Don't you feel 42mm too large and 12.5mm too thick for the wrist. Also, do the needles shine during the night?
IMHO the proportions are perfect 👌🏻, but of course depend on the size of the wrist and ones personal taste... The hands have a SuperLumiNova inlay, so you can read the time when it is dark...
Great video, thanks
Let me ask you: which is you favorite of the two?
WatchAdvisor well honestly I am not a fan of this model. However, I love GO and Senator Excellence, 3 hander in solid gold with panorama date is my absolute favorite from the brand 👌🏻
Jimmy S Tastes are different! That’s why brands offer more than one model... thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
Love the chrono..... I may just have to buy one!
The Sixties chronograph looks gorgeous! I literally fell in love with it!
Hallo Alexander,
That glacier blue dial is mesmerising and I’m sure that the photography doesn’t do it justice.
Beautiful watches. How much are they?
Ohannes Semerjian It is shown in the video and mentioned in the description of it ... 😉
WatchAdvisor Thank you Sir, I shall watch the video again. Beautiful video
Lovely blue dial. Would be better with a date function.
Sorry I have to disagree! A date window would literally ruin the beautiful dial…
Really good review
I am happy to read this! Thank you for the “applause”
Subscribed because Glasshute Original.
MLC Welcome to our community! Feel at home!
Thanks Alexander, agree - love the chronograph 👍.
Crazy that watch! I really fell in love with it! But I would change the strap and opt for a blue one
Mmn, fair point...
The 42 mm chrono would look fantastic with a green dial.
Green is likely to become the next blue and I am sure there will be Sixties chronograph with a green dial soon...
I can put you in contact with GO and they will find a way to ship you the watch at home... One more thing: it is not boutique only!
The red in real
life is stunning but, dare I say it, reminds me of the Corona virus somehow. It’s certainly a one off and somehow captivating.
I must say all the vibrant colors of Glashütte Original dials are captivating... End of the day it is "only" a matter of personal taste...
Very nice Alex 👍 I particularly like the chronograph too but feel it's time to start a crocodile farm as that watch deserves a better strap.
Randy Allen Tastes are different! That’s what I also said in the video. The strap is a proposal and of course you can exchange it with a variety of choices the brand offers... I would also wear the chronograph with a blue strap... 😉
I love the chronograph. The blue dial is gorgeous. The camera does not make it justice.
I can assure you that what you see in the video is very, very realistic ... Have you seen the watch in real yet?
@@WatchAdvisor I have. Saw it at the AD and he let me take it outside in real light. In fact, I have ordered one.
Lovely
Prüfer the 3hander - ist is More quite and suttle....
Chronos are not my cup of tea.
beautiful- thanks for the video!
Thanks for the feedback! Let me know if you have any questions...
Simply lovely!
Thank you! Both of them, or do you have a favorite?
@@WatchAdvisor My favorite is the Sixties chronograph!
@@obud3777 Mine too! A stunning beautiful watch...
Great vid thanks
Thank you very much! 🙏
Outstanding as usual
Like the hilarious comment regarding the aligator.
So now I understand the I/SA
Has something to do with SAxony?
I/SA means "in Sachsen" German for in Saxony ...
@@WatchAdvisor Thanks for clarification
Stunning looking watch!
Martin T Which one is your favorite?
@@WatchAdvisor Alex I've only a smallish wrist so the chronograph might be to big but having said that I found the watch dial, both shape and colouring stunning so would be happy with either.
I've been looking at UK authorised dealers and there's one quite close to me although these models were not showing on their website.
They did have a Seventies Panorama Date in blue which reminded me of a watch my dad had when I was young.
Martin T My wrist is 16,5 cm ... if this helps... The Sixties are brand new so it’s most likely that they have not been delivered yet. Let me know if you have any additional questions...
@@WatchAdvisor My wrist is 17cm tight, probably 17.5 to know the watch is there without it cutting off circulation lol and it does help
Will definitely be something I look at if my job stays the same after lockdown.
Thanks Alex
Martin T We will come stronger than ever! That’s not enough to knock us down! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Excellent presentation as usual. I think I may have to stop watching your presentations...I keep wanting to buy all the watches :-(
No no! Let me continue to seduce you with watches coming from 🇨🇭& 🇩🇪
@@WatchAdvisor ohh OK then :-). I must say the German watches, which I have never heard of are very impressive. Looking forward to more presentations, soon.
Very good, thank you
Isn't that blue of the dial magic?
Your video is awesome! Servus from NY!
Love your comment! Thanks for sharing! Thoughts about the “Sixties”?
@@WatchAdvisor I’m thinking of getting the chrono green dial. Can get a new one for $6,500 here in NY. Thinking of exchanging my Pelagos FXD while I can still get good money for it.
nice vid :) stay safe everybody
Thanks for you feedback! Stay safe and sound!
Great video
Thanks for the feedback!
Nice watches, I was interested in the 1960 three hand but I didn't like the look of a watch with a case display showing a small movement, not a good look.
the advantage is that with that domed sapphire-glas you can see a lot of details of the movement you couldn't see if it would be bigger...
Dials remind me a Grand Seiko and Moser
Can u tell me your wrist please?
16,5 cm
@@WatchAdvisor thank you & greetings from Munich
@@dennyottinger9776 Grüße aus Wien... ich liebe München!!!
Did you just say beautifullest!!!! Lol
Could be... 😂 😜
WatchAdvisor ... I’m envious of your multilingual skills! Stay safe and healthy.
Stevee Wonders Safe and sound - that’s my plan... I like my audience, it’s the best audience in the world! 😉
If they make 95% of their parts wonder which are the 5% not made by them
E.g. the straps...
@@WatchAdvisor was wondering why some say that Seiko does everything in house down to the screws
The RUclipsr They almost everything but not everything!! This is impossible...
