  • Jinger Duggar was a breakout star on the TLC hit series “19 Kids and Counting,” which chronicled the infamous Duggar family’s strict religious lifestyle and iron-fist Christian values. Since the show, a flood of controversy has surrounded the Duggar family-from the #FreeJinger movement to Josh Duggar, Jinger’s brother, being sentenced to 12 years in prison for child pornography charges. Jinger joins “Tamron Hall” for an exclusive sit-down to talk about life now, the relationship with her parents, and raising children with her husband Jeremy Vuolo.

I can tell she’s trained herself on how to respond to the questions relating to Josh, so that she can go into auto-pilot instead of actually re-feeling that trauma while she answers on such a public platform. I know this is a big part of her story, but I also feel it must be hard to say “this is a subject that is still very difficult to talk about” and then receive a lot of questions specifically related to that. She is one strong lady. I have the utmost respect for her growth and maturity.

I wonder about the mental health of her siblings. I mean how they are dealing with this and if they've been able to move on from what this preacher and Josh did to the family. Jinger and her sisters that were the oldest seemed close when the show was on. But that's a long time ago and the girls got married and started having their babies. I don't remember much about the boys, except Josh. I think the rest of the boys were younger.

But jessa idk about anymore because she seems to be following the same as her parents and not going her own way ( having baby after baby , already has what ? 5 now, and she isn’t even 30! Like geez I understand it’s her life but take a break and don’t follow suit of your mother !

Ben helped Jinger begin to extricate, she says herself. The one of the eldest that concerns me is Jana. 33 and single so still there, live in babysitter.

Some day, there's going to be a real bombshell about Jana. I wonder if he did more to her than any of the others and that's the reason she remains single. Or if it's because she's been so brainwashed to believe that it's her "duty" to remain at home and be a "second mother" to all the children. So sad that she has never been allowed to live a full life outside and away from these sick people. I'm glad to hear Jinger say she hasn't spoken to Josh in years. Good for her. He deserves no pity. Nor does Anna (his wife). She's as delusional as the rest of them.

Tamron is a journalist & part of her job is asking the tough questions. It’s important to address the elephant in the room so to speak. I’m sure the guest was aware of this prior to coming on the show & the host would have made it clear to the audience that those questions wouldn’t be addressed if the guest refused to answer those questions ahead of time as an agreement before coming on the show.

I never missed watching the Duggars when they were on tv. I loved them all. But in the back of my mine I felt there was something different about Josh. He seemed like a know it all. I wasn't surprised when it came out about his life. Jinger was always my favorite. I thought from watching her on the show that she was different. My daughter and I use to talk about the show and we both thought that she would be the first one to leave the Duggars way of living. I met the Duggars when Jinger was about 15 years old. She was so charming and friendly. She stopped long enough to have her picture made with me. I'm proud of who she is today.

I watched the show and admired how efficiently the family was being raised. How well mannered and obedient they all were. But I also saw how demanding and selfish Jim Bob & Michelle were particularly with the older girls. While Michelle felt it was her job to continue having children every year, it was the older girls who were doing most of the work in taking care of all those kids. All those rules they were living their lives by were so ridiculous for this day and age. I commend Jinger for speaking out and realizing that the truth shall set you free.
