this looks like a lot of fun :D added it to wishlist !! thank you, Glidercat ! :D im very happy that i decided to sub to you wich i did back when i was looking for a RUclipsr that played Astro Colonoy since i was looking for inspiration for that game :D
@@Glidercat your welcome :) and aye its a real fun cool game :) got almost 70 hours into it though i havent played it a bit. waiting for updates/more content etc so good news that you can tell a big one is inc :D
Thank you! 😺 I agree. I think The Crust is going to be very popular once it is released. The developers say they are planning to release this year. Let's hope that's true. 🤞
The setting is very different, but it actually feels a bit like Captain of Industry, but on the moon. I think it's going to be a *very* popular game. There are a lot of different things to do in the game and it plays very smooth. You can already tell that a lot of work and attention to detail have been put into it.
That may come down the road. I only mention it in my videos since some viewers may wonder why I'm stumbling a bit when there are obvious (to them) cues on the screen that I can't see as well.
I've been playing for quite a few hours now and it really is a ton of fun. There's a lot of content in the demo and a whole lot more coming from what I can tell!
I first featured The Crust on the Glidercat channel way back on September 9, 2021 and have been following it in the 2+ years since. It's a cool game and there have been a number of different demos released. Now, I'm pretty eager to play the full game. Hopefully, we'll see a release later this year. 🤞
First time seeing this looks fun and the item models are very cool, By the way came across Plan B from another streamer a terraforming/city builder game, is it something your aware of?
I'm aware of Plan B and have had it on my wishlist for quite a while. I was offered a press key and responded that I'd like to try it out. But then I never heard back.
@@Glidercat It looks fun for sure a mix of games I've seen combined which is a positive thing. The demo is out and full game beginning of Feb according to steam page
@@Glidercat Going to get the demo as soon as it comes out. Shame though you said cannot save your game. Going to mean a long play through on a good free day to get far as the demo will let us.
@@glennswain490 The devs mentioned that the save game feature is still being worked on, but I believe it's not close yet. I tried to play/record as much as I could in a single session. I'm working on editing and updating some additional episodes.
@@Glidercat Am sure you will cover this , the contracts threw me for a loop and got stuck and lost LOL. Hope you will cover this in your little series. Thanks
@@glennswain490 The contracts are tricky and need some work to make them more intuitive. I'm uploading an episode right now that includes my struggle trying to figure them out. Eventually, I do figure them out but it might be a couple episodes away. Once you've picked a contract and chosen to Send Resources.... When you get to the screen with the 3 columns: "From", "Where to", and "Tranportation Module".... Shift-Click on each of the resources in the first column until the quantities add up to what the contract requires. Next, in the center column, click near the top of that column where it says "Select landing module" and pick your landing pad. You need to have one of those building placed on the surface ahead of time. Lastly, click the "Send" button at the bottom of the 3rd column. I always had to click that one twice for some reason, but then it works. A drop pod will descend from the sky, land on your landing pad, and your drones will begin filling it with the required resources. I'll demonstrate this process in episode 4, but that won't post for a few days.
I think you can daisy chain them together, which is awesome. I used power poles only because I've been conditioned to from the dozens of other factory games I play that make you use them! 😸 I kind of did it without even thinking.
I believe the demo will be available on Steam soon. Here is a link to one of their announcements: veomstudio.com/news/first-demo-on-steam-base-builder-fest/ I highly recommend checking it out. I played for several hours and am mightily impressed with what's there and what's to come!
Yeah, you can actually daisy chain them, which is really nice. I'm so used to games that force you to use power poles that I put them in unconsciously. 😸
I really think it's quite good. It reminds me a bit of Captain of Industry with it's top-down view and the excursions you send your surface rover on. The depth of factory development/complexity planned for The Crust seems to be on par or even a little beyond what Junkpunk or Techtonica currently have. The demo has both a Tutorial mode and a Story mode. In this series, I'm playing the Tutorial mode. The developers also recommended that I try the Story mode to see some additional content. I managed to get 6 episodes recorded but I still need to edit/process and upload them. I'm pretty impressed with what I see so far! 😻
For anyone interested the game is now up on Steam as a Demo.
as of January 30th the demo is unfortunately no longer available.
I was about tostart rummaging - thank you!
@@michaelmacdonell4834 I was left with the urge to play too; see if they will make an open beta.

You could ask the devs for Color blind accessibility

Interesting game and video but could you just chain wire those batteries (4connections) and solarpanels (2connections)?

@Glidercat I know even for satisfactory I used the daisy chain mod xD way better wire handling 😆

Can multiple underground areas collide ?
I don't know.

Odd that you can mine steel from an iron deposit? thats a composite material
just a little bug. We'll fix text soon :)
Just the crust?
It would seem so.
Tip, start with something moving on screen. A still picture with a long verbal intro made me almost click away.
It's true that videos on my channel are unlikely to appeal to folks with shorter attention spans. I tend to be a bit verbose. 😸
My game just crashed....
It happens. They are making multiple updates to the game every day, so I'm sure it will stabilize as new problems are reported.
