Thanks Peter, Great to be back - Hoping to upload more, but looks like this weekend is a no go with all this rain 😭😭 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Hey mate! Super glad you enjoyed! Its tough fishing out there I tell you - Brisbane is fished out 😆 Always great fun landing fish even if they are babies. Cheers for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Good to see you catching and releasing Jason. The last few times I've been out, have noticed guys taking undersize fish with impunity. A guy at Woody Point Jetty yesterday hauled in 6 clearly undersize bream on small hooks, put them in the bucket and wasn't finished when I left in disgust. No wonder the incidence of "doughnuts" is on the rise. The fisheries are obviously under resourced and do their best with what they've got. Not sure what the solution is to control these idiots.
Hey Chris, I agree with you with Fisheries - just under resourced. I would be for a annual fishing license like NSW and VIC. Try and not let them bother you and just enjoy the day/night out fishing! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
thankyou. beautiful water. I have a question; I notice you have drag set very soft-i usually dont have set so soft as I believe the hooks wont set hard if drag too soft; is there a reason for this? (for my possible learning) thankyou
Hey mate, Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. A good question! I leave my drag loose so I don't pull hooks out when I hook up especially if only hooked on by the lips. The fish will hook itself with the trebles and tire itself out eventually, so you don't need to fight so hard. However, it's another story of you are fishing very rocky and snaggy areas. Hope this helps and good luck fishing! 👍
Good to see you’ve broken your donut streak Jason! I think you’ll break your legal catch streak if you use what a wise fisherman once told me, ‘Pop pop.. Pause’. Give that one whirl next time ❤️
Nice fish. How do u find the amped 11 rods. Which one do u have? I am looking around for a light soft plastics rod and was looking at the bream version.
Hey Nigel, I find the Amped 2 Rods amazing. I have the L and the XH. I wouldn't mind getting a M to complete the set! All the Amped rods are feather light with a crisp carbon blank. Combined with fuji guides for smooth running of the line. Ergonomic from the hand, forearm and elbow for hours of casting. You can find them at some of your local fishing shops, give it a try! Look after it well and you'll be casting it for many years. I've had mine since early 2019 and is going strong. I do wipe it down with reel oil to get rid of the salt after each week's fishing. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Great to see you back Jason, been waiting to get a vid uploaded from you, Hope when you break your “legal” doughnut status it’s a big “School Mackerel” or some big “Pelagic” like a “Queenfish”. Don’t know if you get “Queenfish” where you are, anyway good luck.
Hey Justin, super happy you enjoyed! 😊 Fingers crossed mate - hoping for a PB!!! You can get Lesser Queensfish in Brisbane. I've seen them around and hooked up onto one, but it busted me off! Cheers mate 🍻
I kayak fish Lake Macquarie NSW mostly up Cockle Creek lately due to strong winds. The creek appears to be a nursery with catches limited to tiny Bream, Chopper Tailor. Someone caught a good size Flathead if the head left on the bank is a good indication. Poor weather will keep me off water, perhaps, for another week or so. Other kayakers have fared better than me fishing in other areasn of the Lake. I wil fish in the Lake next session (Speers Point) & hope for a legal fish. Thanks for sharing.
Yes. I know Cockle Creek has a repurtation. Frankly I have caught so few fish there for the table I doubt there would be any ill effects. I will be heading down the Lake bit by bit. Thanks.
@@himderfella fair enough. That wind really can be a bother. Marks point thru naru is great, even being a tidal channel the eddies along the shoreline ensure a struggle free return paddle.
Hey mate, its been tough fishing lately. But hey! Fishing is fishing and not catching! 😆😆 Wishing you all the best and the Flaty Gods with you on your next fishing trip! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Hey Jason I’m from around redcliffe and I was wondering if we could go fishing one time I’m going to Scot’s point this Thursday if u wanna come where also going Friday at hays inlet

Get over swansea ways bro. I grew up on cockle creek, we had to get bi monthly blood tests because of the proximity to pasminco smelter.
