    I wish the mode selector was like knob just like the shifter, easier to twist to the mode I want than pressing a button. Other than that I mostly use normal and sport.

    I recently watched a video where the guy showed that driving with Low (L) on has the best regenerative power. He claims that driving with Low will not harm the vehicle and will save brakes.

    sport mode for long highway trips may actually get you better gas mileage than eco mode. Of course eco mode around town is crazy good

    I'm very happy with my non-hybrid 22' Maverick with AWD. I would prefer if the AWD would activate the rear drive more often in Normal Mode. I frequently have to select Slippery to get the rear drive to kick in. Tow\Haul & Sport activate the rear drive too, but also rev the engine too much when braking. Possibly because i also have the 4k tow package

    Very helpful ty. Does Lo mode just lockout higher gears or is it more of a 1 pedal driving mode like chevy EVs?

    Have you ever press the L for low in the gear selector, what do you think it’s used for?

    • @jmc6000
      @jmc6000  Год назад +3

      The L is primarily used to increase the regenerative braking and when the battery is full it will turn on the engine for engine braking

    • @jmc6000

      All the L mode does is increase the regenitive braking to max regen.

    Still kinda confused on how the electric part of the motor works? Like when does it kick in? Lol i just assumed it kicked in at lower speeds but like i said idk how it works or when the electric part of the motor is being used to get better gas mileage

    • @DiscipleofHim
      @DiscipleofHim 10 месяцев назад +1

      The gauge on left when it (needle) is in green you are in battery mode. Braking and coasting and not accelerating all will be in battery mode.

    • @jmc6000
      @jmc6000  10 месяцев назад

      The electric part can drive the vehicle by itself up to certain speed, and then the gas engine kicks on to assist and work in conjunction with the electric motor as a boost to get to faster speeds.

    • @mbales369
      @mbales369 2 месяца назад

      Both of those replies are not accurate. That whole gauge, green & % is the motor/battery mode - green is recharging, % is that much of the elec system is being used for power needs. Above 10% the engine kicks in. As video shows under hard acceleration, or hill or towing, 100% of elec system is assisting engine.
      Or you could be at 70 mph on slight downhill so gravity help equals air resistance, and need less than 10% power so all elec system until the battery charge gets too low then engine on. Or engine on at start if heat needed for cabin. But elec used 1st otherwise, but not up to certain speed.
      Ford thought if using more than 10% power of elec system it would drain battery too quick.
