The reason people quote on quote “overreacted” is because of the scene where mark switches to invincible to fight sinclairs reanimen and she literally cries crocodile tears despite knowing mark didn’t abandon her. If mark lied, amber lied equally as much because she knew marks reasons for being late but always gave him shit for it and never confronted him. But I do agree her writing is better this season.
I don't mind Amber in the show but, having read the comics, it does get a bit tiresome knowing that the big break up is inevitable to make way for Eve.
Yea I think the "accident" is a excuse they use to elevate the blame for poorly writing her. Then had to do better and fix it in the following season buy having her do better in the situations comic amber failed at and in contras to tv amber failing where comic amber succeeded. Just to balance it out. i guess, also this doesn't mean she gets a pass for the bs she pulled in the last season.
You totally didn't cover the fact that Amber still breaks up with Mark for the same reason, whether it's in the comic or the show. She didn't feel important within their relationship. People don't like mark and amber together because we all knew it wasn't gonna work. Not to mention how the two got back together at the end of season one felt pretty shallow. At the end of the day, Amber did her part in being a more understanding girlfriend, but that can't stop mark from being an unavailable boyfriend. Now they can both go and find someone that's better suited for the both of them, rather than watching their dead-end relationship drag on for another episode.

I’m not happy they broke up but it’s for the best since Mark’s world is too much for a normal girlfriend. I just hope they don’t give her that abusive boyfriend storyline if she shows up again. Because no one deserves that anymore than what Anissa does to Mark later.

I'm not playing the race card just because Just a weird unfortunate thing that does happen People are willing to justify the unjustifiable actions of characters that looks like them but won't show the same level of grace to a character that from the outside look completely different from them
