I believe that this franchise can still be elevated to the level of a Mortal Kombat but keeping the roots, more realistic fights and without super powers, it would be a dream.
You can tell this game is spinning its wheels in 2D and badly needs to be a 3D beat em up. The horizontal 2D plane is so restrictive for a game with these kind of authentic fighting styles to properly express itself.
I can see it do the 2.5D/3D plane thing like Tekken, Soul Calibur, DBZ Budokai series games. It would greatly benefit going that route, like simple side step. This is great too though much improved over the first one.

In my humble opinion, three characters that need improvement in movements and appearance because they don't look like their original characters are: Ipman, JCVD, and Bolo Yeung. The rest is a Master piece!! Congratulations!
The drawback here is player 1 always starts on the left, so Bruce Lee would have to do the orthodox stance. In Jeet Kune Do he would have his right side on the front instead.

Looks great, but a little buggy: the punches and kicks go through the body - doesn’t look nice.
Round house punches and kicks are in there so it looks like punches and kicks are going through the opponents.
