I believe the strap is made of fluoroelastomer rather than standard resin as you stated. The crown is used to make adjustments and is a screw down crown. There is a version which I have with a bracelet that is partially made of carbon fibre.
Hi Andy, I appreciate that this is your first encounter with this watch, but may I say if you’re going to do an unboxing and initial review, that you might at least do some research prior. To not fully understand items like smart crown functions, strap material are pretty big misses on your behalf.
