The Swiss railway clock was designed in 1944 by Hans Hilfiker, a Swiss engineer and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) employee, together with Moser-Baer, a Swiss clock manufacturer, for use by the SBB as a station clock. 🕘 ✌🏻👨🏼‍🦱✌🏻

I looked at this watch and it is just plain stupid. It is made to look like a dive watch with a coin edge bezel that does not rotate, mineral not sapphire crystal, only 100m WR and not screwdown caseback. For what you get it is way overpriced, you can get MUCH better for those $$$. A very hard pass. As someone else has noted 'are you sure it's a real Citizen', (edit by me: surly Citizen cannot be that stupid, it's the sort of thing cheap Chinese knock-offs do).

It's a pity the Edifice line wasn't well marketed.

I got the exact same model from City Chain last year, bought it on a whim. Torn between this and the new presage gmt. I guess if you have yet to get a taste of the 5KX GMT and want something new in terms of colourway and a better bracelet, it fits me like a gem! Of course when sale comes, the older models have way better discounts and whatnot.

Great review and comparison. I have the Seiko and love it. Own a Tudor BB36 and love that watch too. I think the Seiko is more interesting though.

I just received this watch a week ago. I ordered it because its a panda, solar, sapphire, good lume, affordable price, with GOOD SIZE for me, and it will be my first Orient watch. From the site it is said that the watch size is 42.8mm in width. I have 7.3 inch wrist size so, I said it is perfect for me so I ordered it. But, to my dismay when it arrived, there's no way that this is 42.8mm in width!! It looks small on my wrist, it is smaller than my Seiko ATLAS that I very seldom use because I consider it small for me. I think this watch is 40 to 41mm width at best. The bezel also has "play" going slightly back and forth but that is okay. Thumbs down for the sizing Orient!! If I only knew it was sized smaller in width, I would not bought this watch!!!

The watch does have solid endlinks. I own the SSK003J1. I did change out the stock clasp for a Marine Master clasp. I love mine it’s definitely still a relevant and a great watch .

The term "CasiOak" is a tongue-in-cheek name given to a line of G-Shocks, I think we should keep it for that. I kind of doubt that Casio even intended to copy the AP watch's shape, the original digital G-Shock already had an 8-sided bezel, and when you try to fit an analog dial into that design and try to keep the G-Shock design DNA and not end up with another round watch case you get an octagon. There's not a whole lot else that resembles the Royal Oak, i.e. no bezel screws, and no integrated bracelet.

snk621k1 i can still see on amazon sg but already at 184sgd. i ordered instead in amazon japan for 163sgd shipping by amazon japan inclusive. i saw a review saying that they still managed to swap out the strap with a leather one but they had to cut the middle to 10mm, possible but a hassle if you dont have the equipment for it

Totally agreed with your note about the date window.. I wish if they had it in a gold background at least not white .. Its a gorgeous watch though ❤

I'm back again. I really think the Edifice line should be the one called CasioOak. I think G Shock brand is just most popular and releases like EFR-S108D and EFS-S570D from the Edifice line always just go unnoticed.

The STEELDIVE 6105 Turtle "Captain Willard" that I own is basically the same as this SM (sapphire/NH35/Brush-polished, etc.) but the bezel markers & numbers also have lume. It has C3 green inside as this one, and BGW9 blue on the bezel markers/numbers, and yes...as bright as a Christmas tree, normally fading as hours pass, but basically last all night long!.....

I have this same SM Tuna blue with the rubber for about 4 years. Excellent watch for the sea/beach/boating/pool, and great with polo/tshirts... Yes, the BGW9 lume is as bright as in the video. As normal it fade as hours pass but you're able to read the time in an entire dark room night long....

I believe that the carbon core is carbon fibre in the resin.

I have the 5610u.. and I really like it. I have been tented to buy the 5600u. But i do not get why is so expensive. So i probably will stick to mine. Maybe one day the 5600u will be cheaper.. but i can't fork what it cost nowdays. And i like the colours on my 5610u.

It is bending the index on the dial, this is feature of Seiko presage models very nice and polished inside, I have the not open-heart version

I really liked the look of this but seeing the excellent review here I wouldn't buy it because it looks too straight on the wrist. I have an amazing citizen BM7108-22L and will stick with it.

I believe Casio Edifice's EFR-S108D deserves the title CasioOak. EFS-S570D model I think is based on that.
